      bloggers unite for human rights
Today is May 15, and the topic for today is human rights. If you want to know the "official" definitions of human rights, you can read up United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. There are 30 articles and I'm not going to list them down here. Looking at the declaration, it seems like violation of human rights can happen in every country. "Everyone has the right to equ

Midday Open Thread: Bloggers = Journalists?
Though the equation above draws scorn from most journalists, and a large segment of the U.S. population sneers at the title of "blogger," the profession (occupation? (hobby?) (pass time?)) occasionally gets some credit. Most often this share of praise falls upon foreign shoulders, where blogging is a much riskier endeavor. Por ejemplo,Yoani Sanchez, a Cuban blogger, was given a prestigious Spanish press award. Indeed, both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have run prominently placed articles on Sanchez, who writes a blog Generacion Y, based in Havana. As I said, this sort of recognition eludes bloggers in the US, largely because our media here is "free." "What need is there for bloggers when we have a robust media acting as the government and corporate watchdog?" many reason.

Top Reasons Commenting is Good For Bloggers
Please try this. For the next week make an effort to comment on more blogs. Each day post more comments than the last, on more blogs. Comment well, not just “ditto”. Add something of value, your own thoughts. So what was all that about? I don’t think we comment enough and I put that down to bloggers not realising the benefits. Here are the benefits as I see them, let me know if I miss any: It’s the right thing to do - people complain about not enough comments on their own blog but don’t take enough time to comment on others. We all like some attention or an occasional pat on the head for a job well done. Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself!Make friends and influence people - Blogging is partly a networking activity. People are more likely to link to you (or more

      Quick Stress Reduction For Bloggers
This article is guest posted by Jerry Gabra. Last month there was an article in the New York Times about a few bloggers who suddenly died. The article read: Two weeks ago in North Lauderdale, Fla., funeral services were held for Russell Shaw, a prolific blogger on technology subjects who died at 60 of a heart attack. In December, another tech blogger, Marc Orchant, died at 50 of a massive coronary. A third, Om Malik, 41, survived a heart attack in December. -Matt Richtell Theres no doubt that blogging is a full time job. Did You See The "Mommy Bloggers" On The Today Show?
Yes, with air quotes. If you haven't seen the video yet, go watch it before reading further. So what are my thoughts on it? Well, it was OK. The taped segment with Mir, Kristen and Jill was a good segment, although I felt like something was missing. In talking with Mir and Kristen on Twitter, I learned that the topic of community was brought up more in that interview, but was edited out, along with the sentiment that much of what we blog can be seen as a love letter to our children. It seems that Today wanted to focus more on the financial and moral aspects of being a mommyblogger this time. Each of these issues has been featured on mainstream media before. Good Morning America spoke with Susan Wagner about making money online, and who can forget the Today Show feature on cocktail playdates.

Same Crap, Different Day - Orioles Lose Again in Oakland For Fourth Straight Loss; The Rundown & What The Bloggers Are Saying...
Could the good vibes of being a Baltimore Orioles fan in the short-term be coming to a close?I was going to title this post something else (use your imagination), but I decided to be a good fan and use some decorum when doing this.Again, the Orioles lost out West, 4-2, to the Oakland Athletics. The loss was their fourth in a row, and they need to find answers; according to Spencer Fordin, the Orioles held a meeting at some point on Tuesday.Brian Burres struggled for the most part last night, as he allowed eight hits and four runs (he was charged with three) over a little more than five innings of work. The bullpen was once again solid; however, once again the anemic offense did not do anyone favors despite the relief corps keeping Baltimore in the game. The flighted ones made A’s starter,

Bloggers unite for human rights - May 15, 2008
Because the suppression of human rights is unacceptable at any level and by any government or other agency, it is important to bring these issues out in the open. Light has a purging effect on evil. The darkness needs to retreat.   There is much bootlicking homage paid to supposed 'champions' of human rights, albeit of yore. Such as the United States. The truth is that this is a laughable proposition. For two years in a row in the late 80s, buried in the New York Times were tiny single-paragraph mentions of Congress' approval of bills for the sale of instruments of torture (they specifically mentioned cattle prods as an example) to 'friendly countries.' I only recall Germany and Japan being mentioned in the roster.   The joke must e

Why Bloggers Need to Join Blogsvine
Get voted, get traffic, and get income. Those three reasons should sum it all I guess. I found this site through Entrecard. Yes, they’re really using entrecard. Blogsvine is a new social media site which gives you free blog promotion by submitting stories which its users vote on. The voting system is very much like Digg where your news gets more exposure when you’re voted more; just like its tagline: submit your blogs and start climbing. Currently, the site is still in its beta stage so there will still be more room for changes and further improvements. So what’s in it for you? Like in other social media sites, votes here count. From my experience in using it, the theory is very much the same with the rest of them socializin’ sites: cook up a good headline and a good post and it wil

It may seem like MusTech.Net hasn’t posted in awhile, but I can assure you the site has been very active!  We’ve recently completed our transfer and transformation to our new VPS Server (Virtual Private Server) and MusTech.Net 2.0!  This site should now be faster and more user-friendly for all intents and purposes!  FYI, unless you are a technology genius…don’t upgrade your site to a VPS server by yourself!  It might not be rocket science, but it certainly is COMPUTER SCIENCE!  I’ve learned more about back-end APACHE, PHP, and cPANEL than I thought I would have ever wanted to know (P.S. you should be able to double click on any word here to get definitions)! Here is what has been fixed with the site: EVERYTHING.   Everything at mu

      posts patrocinados y bloggers

When bloggers come out to play
Ding dang! Last night was a festivus if there ever was one. I had a smashing time with the ladies. A meeting of minds, wits, and cleverness occurred between Greeblemonkey, Inherent Passion, Tiddleywink, Villanovababy, and lil' ol' me. Woohoo! If you are not reading the blogs of these fine writers (and drinkers), then you are missing out. Despite exorbitant prices charged by India House, we were able to mingle, laugh, guffaw, nod our heads, and generally cause mayhem in the span of three hours. Three hours was definitely NOT enough time for us to raise mischief, so more gatherings must take place. MUST.How much mischief did we cause? Enough for all of the other diners to leave and for the staff to "politely" usher us out by filling the restaurant with the smells of PineSol and the
