Color blindness is a condition in which people have mild to severe difficulty identifying colors. Color blind people may not be able to recognize various shades of colors and, in some cases, cannot recognize colors at all. Most cases of color blindness are inherited, with males being affected far more often than females. Color blindness can also be acquired in other ways like Chronic (long-term)
Glaucoma occurs when the intraocular pressure exceeds the ability of the affected eye to tolerate it. This is as a result of aqueous humor, a clear fluid that is continually produced within the eye to bathe and nourish it. In a healthy eye, this fluid flows and drains out at the same rate. This maintains a steady pressure within the eye referred to as Intraocular Pressure (IOP).

I had a momentary attack of word blindness recently when subbing a news story about a Peugeot hydrogen fuel-cell van called the H2Origin. Obviously the name of this vehicle is a combination of 'H20' and 'Origin'; however looking it I could only think: "I know what H20 is, but what on earth's a rigin?'The H20 rigin. I mean H2Origin.

I ask for blindness, Lord, as I come before You in worship. You, more than I, know my frame. I am a writer, so You know I love words! It would be so easy for me to be caught up in the eloquence of my pastor's words. I am a person with valuable personal experiences to share, so it would be easy for me to deify my own experiences. I'm a musician, so it would be natural for me to be swept away by the musical ecstasy offered to You this morning. Today, as I sit in this pew, save me from the worship of eloquent words, the deification of my own experiences, and the distraction of even the most sacred musical ecstasy. I am grateful for each friend's greeting this morning. But let me see only You, worship only at Your feet, and be entirely dependent upon You and Your Grace. Until You touch me, Lord, let me be blind to all else but You. "None but Thee, LORD, None but Thee."(c) 2007 April Lorier

According to Dr Geraldo Vieira,"If you are thinking of taking up weights, get an eye check first, and rememberto breathe."It has been researched by Catholic University of Brasilia, that weightlifting may risk development of glaucoma. It is an eye disease that can lead to blindness. How? A group of men (18-40 years old) were told to perform a test, by lifting weights on a bench press. The first test, they did 4 repetitions, exhaling when lifting, and inhaling when lowering. But they held their breath instead of exhaling on the last repetition. For the 2nd test, they exhaled per normal at the last repetition.Results90% of the men increased in Intraocular Pressure (IOP, pressure in the eye) from the 1st test, whereas the 2nd test occurred to only 62% of them. The extra pressure created when air is held in the lungs may trigger the increase in IOP during the first repetition. Therefore, when you are lifting weights, remember to BREATHE.

Billie Piper was rushed to hospital after she suffered from a sudden loss of eyesight.
It has been said that Billie was dining at The Ivy restaurant in London when her eyes became blurred when she stepped outside to have a cigarette.
She then tried to cover her face up when the photographer’s bulbs started flashing and was in obvious discomfort.
Billie has said to have panicked when she woke up the following morning and could not open her eyes; she was then taken to Moorfield’s Eye Hospital in Central London.
A friend of Billie said that “She’s being looked at but we don’t know the score. It could be that her eyesight has been damaged or that she has some form of infection or other condition.”
Experts have said that retinal damage can be caused by camera flashes but this is rare and could serve as a trigger for existing conditions.
We hope that Billie regains her eye sight soon.

Daniel Craig is out, and Mark Ruffalo is in for Blindness. The movie is a high-concept pic from Constant Gardener director Fernando Meirelles, a sort of post-apocalyptic flick about a town where everyone suddenly goes blind. The only person who can see is Julianne Moore, who plays the wife of a doctor.
The doctor himself was to be played by Daniel Craig, but Variety says Mark Ruffalo now has the part. Ruffalo is a good actor, and should have no problem pretending to bump into walls and trip over curbs.
As for the movie, the concept sounds almost too clever. The tough thing will be keeping it from becoming a comedy. I’m sure they’ll amp up the tension with life and death situations to offset all the inevitable prat falls and unintentionally collisions. Julianne Moore will probably have kids to worry about and obsess over, she usually does. Worried mothers are her thing.

Jose Saramago is another of the Nobel Prize for Literature winners of whom I was blissfully unaware until I heard about Blindness, the novel that won him that prize. But now I can easily understand why this Portuguese writer was chosen for the award.Much of Blindness, set in an unnamed major city of an unnamed country, has somewhat of a fairy tale feel to it. That feel comes from the way that government officials and the military react when faced with a sudden epidemic of "white blindness" that swiftly strikes the city. Although the government acts quickly to quarantine all of those who are struck by this sudden blindness, it soon becomes apparent to both the epidemic's victims and those who are trying to control its spread that it is only a matter of time before everyone in the city, if not the country, will be struck blind. The reader experiences the horror of the disease and the quarantine of its earliest victims by becoming an intimate member of the first group to be blinded, an

Deuteranopia, or Red/Green color blindness, is the most common form and affects about 8% of Caucasian males and 0.5% of Caucasian females.

I have struggled my entire adult life with a peculiar condition called prosopagnosia, also known as “face blindness”. I have great difficulty recognizing many faces that should be familiar to me. It’s not that I’m incapable of telling one person from another, but it takes me much longer than the average person to see a face and identify whether or not I know the person.I only learned the name for this condition within the last year when I read an article about it in the New York Times. I was extremely excited to learn that my challenge recognizing faces had a name, that many other people suffer with it, and that research is being conducted to learn more about it.Face blindness has caused a whole lot of difficulty in my life. I constantly struggle with ways to figure out if I know someone or not. Many times I’ve had conversations with people, sometimes at great depth and length, and then totally not recognize the person even a few minutes later, much less a day or week later.
I am sure you have the following experience: visit a site, focus on the content, ignore the Ads skyscraper on the right hand side. Maybe for the first few times, you are aware of the presence of the ads. But later on, you simply ignore them. This situation is known as Adsense Blindness. Adsense blindness is a topic that is becoming more relevant with each passing day based on the enormous success of Google's Adsense program. The amazing success of the Adsense program has led to what seems like universal adoption of Google's ad serving technology. The problem is that the ubiquity of Adsense is causing more and more people to unconciously filter Adsense ads as they view websites. The question that this article seeks to answer is what can be done to recapture the revenue that is being lost?In a word - experiment. Gone are the days when you could throw up some great content and cash in by throwing some Adsense panels above the fold integrated into your text. The mantra of the past couple
The whole Church v Ithaca debate that we started a few weeks ago has blown up. Hiroshima Styley.Manchester City Council's licensing committee have actually ruled in the favour of the small man. Canon Clinch (Church Dude), who lives next door to the half built restaurant-cum-bar-cum-nightclub, didn't fancy being kept awake till 4am every morning with the raucous braying of Manchester's great and good.He took his case to the licensing committee, got a load of signatures and they've kicked Ithaca back into touch. The proposed 4am license has been pushed down to 1am. Which is fair enough, since the venue has been bleating on about being a restaurant. Who wants to eat at 4am? Only me, and I'm weird.ManchesterConfidential's Gordo has put together a piece on this decision, and he's come down hard on the Church. The bar, we're told, wasn't going to open till 4am that often - just for 'visiting performing stars finishing work late in the theatres and arenas'. Kid Creole can get a fou
