Below are a big girl's pose.Mind you, she's closing her lips tight and gave Mommy a bit of focus.I mean, these doesn't happen easy when I want to snap her.She always wants to grab the camera and stops me from doing something unless she wouldn't notice. We got this photo when I decided to put her red dress on that her Aunt gave her when she was just 6 months old.It only fits now and it also fits the w

If you are a reader of this blog, {or any blog}, you really should read this post by Beth at I Should Be Folding Laundry. She has summed up the way 99.99% of bloggers feel about their commentors and blogging in general. One of my favorite excerpts: "You may think that what you have to say doesn't matter or your words are insignificant. You may find it hard to believe, but your words are important, they make a difference. Every comment that comes through my blog, is read and appreciated and I know I am not the only blogger who feels this way. I KNOW THIS."Many times, I don't comment on your blogs because I have nothing relevant to say or because I am somewhat afraid of being seen for what I truly am - a dork in big girl panties. But after reading that post, I don't care anymore. I'm letti

So yesterday we spoke of potty training and how we are beginning the trek again. It is going....so-so. We haven't had any further successful visits, but we are making attempts! I must make a note to buy star stickers as rewards!! Anyway...Beyond that Molly is also wearing 3T clothes now (for length, I'm tacking the waists in 85% of them). She is also starting to talk up a storm...but the topper is something else I did today...something BIG....That, my friends, is a BIG GIRL BED! Yes, yes, it's a daybed turned around to look like a crib...but if she thought about it, she could slip through those bars EASY PEASY. So far she hasn't *lol* But she's in a big girl bed!! I've been avoiding it for so long...but now I just feel relief! Mostly because it means K isn't sleeping in a pack & play anymore *lol*
I’m getting a little worried. I’m only six months (technically, 27 and a half weeks) pregnant, and by all accounts, I’m friggin’ huge. No, really? Huge. Huge, like people ask me when I’m due and when I say “February” they go through this disbelief-shock-pity series of expressions and ask me if I’m sure there’s only one in there. Like, my own postal code huge. Like, I’ll soon have a gravitational pull equivalent to Pluto huge.
No doubt, my inherent lack of willpower has been a contributing factor, as has been my willingness to play fast and loose with the definition of “good nutrition.” And the fact that while I didn’t suffer overt morning sickness, I did feel like crap on toast for the first four months of this pregnancy, during which time I heavily self-medicated with my twin addictions to Coke Classic and potato chips. On the good side, I’ve compensated by continuing my weekly visits to the

It wasn’t by my choice, but I spent the whole of Labor Day weekend alone at home. I have taken a job at a local coffee shop, which is awesome…I make a regular paycheck, cash tips, work with great people, get 50% off my coffee bean purchases AND I have learned how to roast coffee! It’s really fun. Except for that weekend. But I am OK with it. I put my Big Girl pants on and I managed to enjoy the empty house. Sort of.
I worked only one weekend in August, and since the shop has only been open for 6 weeks, it was inevitable that I would put in my time again, and apparently this was the weekend. For what it is worth, my boss did apologize for leaning on me so much. I suppose it wouldn’t have been so bad if the weather hadn’t turned gorgeous and warm just in time for the holiday weekend, and if our cabin wasn’t loaded to the gills with most of my favorite people (including Mike and Griffin, whom I encouraged to go….why stay home?? I worked ALL week
Think that animals do not know how to think or to enjoy life's simple pleasures? Think Again!
This big girl is one happy elephant, and who can blame her?
Do you wonder what is running through her mind? Let's listen in:
Aahh! Just turn on the shower massage, lean back and...yeah baby! Does that feel great or what?
You don't have to worry about punching the clock or beating the rush hour
You may have remembered me talking about starting the process of putting Anna in the Big Girl Bed. Well, when we originally started it took us two nights to realize trying to get her to sleep with her sister was not going to work. So we got a twin bed this past weekend and decided to start again. The first night she was very clear that she wanted to sleep in the crib. I said “o.k.” Then the second day at nap time, again she wanted her crib. By the second night (Tuesday) I put her in the big girl bed, and she did fine! No struggles, and did not get out once. Two nights and she is sleeping in her big girl bed! No power struggles, no in and out of the bed. It was wonderful. Remember it may take longer for some, it took a couple of weeks with Emily, but the process still involves no power struggle. You want to avoid a power struggle with a toddler, if you can help it.

I didn’t make lunch today and we ate out. It was disastrous! This time it was 妹妹. She insisted on eating on her own. Not that I mind, at least now I can have my lunch while it’s hot but it’s really messy. I just hoped that the cleaners don’t curse me when I leave. Well, I guess it’s about time I bring out 哥哥’s old bibs. I haven’t had to use them on 妹妹 before. I hope I still can find them. When we leave, this girl refused to sit in the pram. Lucky 哥哥 was around to push the pram. Instead of walking, she ran! Still can shout, “Run!” as she ran! Then she fell and hurt her knees. She got up and continued running. Sigh! Guess what happened when I bathed her? She cried, “Pain! Pain! There!” Pointing to her knees. What to do? Told you not to run already. Video of 妹妹 having dinner on her own ...
