Yahoo! has confirmed that a new beta version of its Messenger product is on the way, for users of Vista OS. It uses the Windows Presentation Foundation graphics engine for functions like scrolling, to work smoothly. As part of the addition, Yahoo said that the WPF 3D feature will be used to display voice visualizations during phone conversations. The much-requested Yahoo! Mail alerts will also be implemented in the future. The beta version, due out sometime in the second quarter, will add voice messaging the well as the ability to send SMS messages.
