      San Francisco Fans Invited to Free Opening Day Viewing Party; Batting Practice
      Picturesque AT&T Park -- home of the San Francisco Giants -- just got a little more prettier. The team has added some new viewing sections and a slew of HD TVs, as well as some other technology in attempting to expand the fan friendly feel. The Giants are inviting fans out to the ballpark on Monday, March 31 for an opening day viewing party. San Francisco will be in L.A. taking on the rival Dodgers, but S.F. fans can come down and catch the game on the centerfield scoreboard and also take some batting practice cuts. The event is free of charge and the first 5,000 fans through the gates will be treated to free hot dogs. This is a great opportunity to check out some of the new features for the 2008 season.       Yankees outfielder Abreu takes batting practice  According to Houston Chronicle that Former Astros and Current Yankee outfielder Bobby Abreu took batting practice in a cage against a pitcher for the first time since straining his right oblique last month.Abreu took 55 swings today, including some at almost full intensity."I tried to push it a little bit more," the New York Yankees right fielder said. "It was fine. I feel great. I didn’t hurt at all. That makes me feel good." Abreu may take batting practice on the field this weekend and hopes to be ready for opening day on April 2.
