It wasn't easy to watch, but the Warriors managed to pick up their first win in three weeks - beating the West Tigers in Sydney. With seven minutes to go, the Warriors led 28-16. But Taniela Tuiaki managed to score two trys to take the score to 28-26 (with the kick to come) but, fortunately for the Warriors, the usually reliable Brett Hodgson missed the conversion giving the [lucky, oh so damn luc

The KSE-100 index got hopelessly fucked out of shape today with a steady downward slide leading to close at 12,444, nearly 500 points down. Apparently foreign selling, political uncertainty and the Pak-Afghan border situation were to blame, along with all banks getting shafted based on an article in the newspapers re : withdrawal of all [...]
Fathers' Day has come and gone, and was pretty much the same as it always is.A yawn, and not much of a boost to the economy. There is always a sweet feature in the Sunday newspaper about some noble Dad. But these days it is also an excuse to engage in a little male bashing. And if you are Barack Obama, another opportunity to announce a new government program. The celebratory meal is most often p

How's that headline? Do I have everybody's attention now? Good. Because a headline like that should get your attention. Would anybody tolerate "Gay Bashing Week" or "Woman Bashing Week?" The very idea is ludicrous. Yet, Dinesh D'Souza can print an article entitled "Atheist Bashing Week" and hardly anybody bats an eyelash. There's certainly not public outrage and condemnation for such blatant bigotry. He was just joking, you say? Even in all of our stunts, which are regularly criticized by atheists (often quite vehemently), we've only dared to tell people that their god doesn't exist or encourage others to say so and post it to YouTube. Even the mind disorder controversy doesn't encourage physical harm or even allude to it. If we haven't had "Christian Bas

Some Microsoft channel partners say the software giant’s recent blunt public statements about Windows Vista are putting them in difficult positions with their customers and undermining their efforts to sell the operating system.

The Baltimore Orioles last night defeated the Seattle Mariners, 3-2, in a razor tight game which saw a consistent and focused Daniel Cabrera not walk anyone in eight innings on impressive work. In the eighth inning, with the score tied 2-2, Nick Markakis hit a solo homer, his only hit, that made all the difference. Baltimore snapped their two game losing skid, and have played well within the last week, winning four out of six. Melvin Mora had two hits; one, a triple, and the other knocked the other Oriole run home. Meanwhile, George Sherrill came to save the game and is now a perfect 7 for 7 in save opportunities this season. Raul Ibanez finished 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mariners, who saw their two-game win streak come to an end. Jose Vidro brought the other Seattle run h
What do expect from Mahathir when he is given the opportunity to voice out his thoughts. If it’s not about Anwar Ibrahim, it would be Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.I’m tired of hearing his regular bashings but I know that you folks out there love to see Muslims and Malays bashing each other. So, here goes…Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Verily Allah, the Glorious and Majestic, has forbidden for you: disobedience to mothers, and burying daughters alive, withholding the right of others in spite of being able to return that to them and demanding that (which is not one's legitimate right). And He disapproved three things for you: idle talk, persistent questioning and wasting of wealth.Hadith number in Sahih Muslim [
It seem Brigitte Bardot has become a serial Muslim basher, and French prosecutors are sick and tired of it.Since this is a fifth offense, they are asking the court to impose a 15,000 Euro fine and a suspended sentence, which will hopefully prod their national treasure to refrain from making comments implying that the Muslim community is "destroying our country and imposing its acts". In the ancient birthplace of of freedom and liberty, they are tripping over themselves to pacify the Muslims. When Bardot wrote"I've had enough, these people have been dragging us by our noses, destroying us and our country by imposing their ways,” the five million French Muslims went out and covered the streets with flowers and opened orphanages across the land.Oh wait, that must be a different movie. According to the Scandalous Candice Blog“MSNBC’s morning show called Morning Joe has crossed the line. Morning Joe is a news show hosted by a failed republican congressman named Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Willie Geist.Today though they crossed the line. They reported on Thomas Beatie, the transgendered male who is having a baby. They put the story in what they call a useless news category “News You Can’t Use” and proceeded to make fun of them and call the couple “disgusting” and make “ewww” sounds. They did this more than once on the show. They also called it “garbage” and saying “people don’t want to wake up to this crap.” That was quoted by Mika Brzezinski. Joe used the story to lead into the next story by saying “this is probably why 81% of Amer
I do not "Black Bash" on this blog. But don't think for one minute I will censor my opinions about things that *I* feel we, as Black Women/People, can do better. If some want to consider asking Black folks to raise their expectations higher, "bashing," that is their definition of it...not mine.I'm addressing this issue now as it came up in the comments of the fiction for BW post. To clarify for anyone that missed it, I don't think those books should be marketed to us as "AA romance novels." I never questioned the tastes of those who choose to read them. I would like for BW to have "normal" romantic stories that are free of drugs, violence, fighting over men, jail romances, etc. This note is not intended to offend the Anon who made the comment; I just like to address misunderstandings

I love how she says she isn't gay-bashing and then says their lifestyle is not good for this nation. Of course, religion has not been good for this country and probably has shortened more than a few lifespans, especially, I believe, my own.
There is an interesting biased article from "Ladies' Home Journal" (LHJ.com) called "What He's Really Thinking When You Fight". by Marianne L. Legato, MD (actually her name is Marianne J. Legato, MD, but the article displays the wrong middle initial).
The article is broken down into 4 sections. 1) Where the Problem Starts. 2) Anatomy of an Argument 3) Where Chemicals Come In 4) How to Fix It
Every single paragraph will be copied and pasted along with my translation of what the author is really saying.
Section 1) Where the Problem starts
From the article: "An hour before she and her husband, Tim, are expected at his parents' house, Liz walks in the door to find him watching football in the den with their toddler, Ella -- a dirty mess from her day at the playground -- at his feet. The house
Don't be fooled about the word "sport" I've placed in my article's title..I won't be talking about any kind of sports, as this blog isn't about sports news. Instead, I will talk about how some other fellow bloggers of mine have started a new type of online "activity", to call it so. If I were to give it a name, I'd call it: "Let's bash John Chow" . And it seems that, in the end, has become a "national sport", after all. Why I say that?Because not everybody is a John Chow fan. Of course, we all know him, what he does, how much he earns with his blog etc. But let's face it: how many of you are his loyal readers? How many of you have joined his affiliate programs? Or how many of you felt that he has helped you to make money online, in a way or another? In my case, since I've started to visit his blog - JohnChow.com - I haven't seen any real helpful tip or advice on making money online..I know that I shouldn't expect for some miracles only because I've visited JC's blog, but h
Like the last post, I read a fellow Blogging Zoom post but find myself writing a longer comment that I turned into a post. In this case, Justin wrote: Why John Chow Sucks At Blogging. And because I waited a few days to publish this post, I did read another post by Vic: John Chow Unclogged. So, I decided to update it by taking Vic’s post into account. But, is John Chow Sucks a new holiday bashing sport?
The Points
In Justin’s post, he made 2 points:
1. John Chow has bad grammar(Justin)
2. John Chow is popular because of he’s background(Justin)
3. John Chow “method” (Vic). I used “method” because I did not know what word to use.
Let’s take those 3 points.
1. Grammar
John Chow once wrote(Jan. 4 ,2007) that English is not is first language. John Chow does not write and publish immediately. Often, John Chow will wait a few hours and comeback to revise the text. Nobody is perfect like Justin said about himself.

If you're gay and you have a copy of Halo 3 here are two pieces of advice for you:1. Do NOT put any form of gay reference in your gamer tag.2. Don't tell anybody in a lobby you're gay. What am I basing this on? Check out the video below...I have to admit, I did laugh at some of the stuff that was said. The sick side of me honestly couldn't help it. The "Gay boy whip it out!" and "You got the bomb dude, I'll watch your back dude, I'll watch your back... I'll watch that ass!! Wah-heeeey!!" had me burst out laughing. But there was some other things said which weren't funny at all. According to xxxgayboyxxx he has had gamers drop out on him, leaving him as the only dude playing and has had teammates kill him in matches. It's like the junior school playground all over again isn't it really. What's the world coming to when a gay guy can't even play a match of Halo 3 without getting slated and hated!? I know I said that a gay gamer shouldn't have any form of gay references in thei
I've just got word from the scienceblogs grapevine that there is an article by James K. Willmot published in The Kentucky Courier Journal that openly condemns Ham and his Crackhouse for brainwashing children into believing his stupid lies,There is a great educational injustice being inflicted upon thousands of children in this country, a large percentage of whom come from the Kentucky, Ohio and, Indiana areas. The source of this injustice is a sophisticated Christian ministry that uses the hook of dinosaurs, the guarantee of an afterlife, and the horrors of hell to convince children and their families to believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible. The tax-exempt ministry, Answers in Genesis, and its new $28 million creation museum in Boone County has become the de facto source of science information to thousands of Christians who are throwing away reason and 500 years of scientific inquiry and replacing it with ignorant dogma. In the article, Willmot compares Ham's Crackhouse wi
Have a look at the pattern of the popular stories Mixxed today as of now. You'd find a pretty predictable feature in almost 4 out of the top 10 stories featuring on Page 1 of Mixx. And that is, but obviously of how Digg sucks big time, and how Mixx is far superior. It is ok to have that point made, and we have already seen that through articles on Techcrunch and the like. But the point I want to drive home is, isn't it clear enough now. Isn't it making things a bit awkward and childish that the top most voted stories on Mixx, are well mostly about Digg bashing and Mixx praising. We all love Mixx, and so just let's move on from yesterday's stale headlines and review the new ones. That's the reason why we moved on from Digg in the first place, right?Yeah! Of course, this post itself sounds like another attention seeker, craving for a place on the first page. So, will you vote?
The Obama-hype of last winter is being replaced this week by Obama-bashing as supporters of other candidates see the race tightening and face the prospect that Obama is now in a strong position to win the nomination. Taylor Marsh provides one example of the common attacks at Huffington Post. Much of her attack can be summarized by saying that Obama is not following the lead of the liberal netroots on all matters. As I noted in a post on a different matter yesterday there are increasingly sets of positions held by the bulk of both the left and right blogospheres. These rigid sets of positions, however, are not shared by many voters and Obama’s heresy is seen as a strength by many of his supporters. This especially includes independents and the new Democratic voters who gave the party their victory in 2006.
Marsh also takes selected quotes from Obama to demonstrate that, when he’s at his worst, Obama can sound as triangulating as Clinton. Tell me something I didn’t know

Prison town needs to look behind walls.”She goes on to ask the question, “Should a convict be allowed to write columns for the newspapers?” I think a better question to ask is this: “Why ask a convicted murderer to write Op-ed pieces for a newspaper?”Ms. Belman writes:“If you're a regular reader of these pages, you already know what I think. The Monitor has published severa
You hear a lot about repetitive motion injury in the workplace these days as employers are eager to ensure that their backside is covered legally if staff (especially those in the IT industry) develop a problem such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (or Median Neuropathy at the Wrist).
It’s commonly held that typing at the keyboard for hours on end and constantly moving the mouse around is the kind of thing that just has to be bad for your joints.
Well, Tech-recipes wrote a post about CTS yesterday in which they quote a pile of studies (see the article for those) and essentially come to this conclusion:
The current research shows that computer use has very little role in causing carpal tunnel syndrome. Common medical diseases that are known to cause carpal tunnel are much more likely to blame than any repetitive use injury.
That begs the question: Why are we all buying/wearing those wrist protectors?
Is it all a scam? Would Penn & Teller be calling “Bullshit” on this o

German Beamte (civil servants) rightly have a rotten image here and are viewed as belonging to a privileged class, which of course they are. Actually, calling them civil servants is really a little ambiguous. A classless society like Germany actually insists upon putting its public employees into two classes, namely ordinary employees Angestellte (bad) and Beamte (worse), and the Beamte, being officially beamtet (officially worse) don’t really serve anybody at all other than themselves maybe, and that probably not all that well, either.
The original idea was that whoever represents the state by doing official duties like issuing official documents or making official decisions should have a special kind of official employment with the state, officially. So now it is official, as is the fact that about 61% of those asked during a recent survey (3000 total, 1000 of these being Beamte themselves) do not like Beamte. This is strange because I was under the impression that Beamte m

I choose to speak and believe and expect that men can be great! I choose to hold up the icons of Lancelot, of Charles Ingalls, of William Wallace, of John Walton! I choose to believe that Adam and Eve were created side-by-side; he cherishing and loving her, and her honoring and respecting him.…I know, I know…it doesn’t always work out that way. Because the reality is, in this world, men have the power…Biblically speaking, that power works beautifully for both men and women: “husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church,” and “women, give your husbands the honor that they are due.” So women are to honor their husbands as they would Jesus: serving, loving, praising, respecting, submitting to the authority of. (I know, as a part of current American culture, you are choking on the word “submit”…but stick with me here!) And men are supposed to love their wives as Christ loved the church: as an absolutely self-les
This entry is a follow-up to the first one ever written on this blog Misandry - The Socially Acceptable and Legal Form of Sexism. Even with shining examples of male-bashing in the media, it still does not show the scope of how women's sexism goes unfiltered. From feminist bloggers to news reports about sex offenders almost always showing males, hardly ever do you hear anyone say some of this information is biased against men in general and vilifies them.
This is a list of male-bashing and anti-male bias found across the web including blogs and popular news sources.
1) Don't trust your man, Indian minister tells women - Reuters. From the article: "Indian men cannot be trusted in their sexual behaviour and are fuelling the country's HIV epidemic, a female government minister said on Monday, slamming the country's "hypocrisy" about sex." Also there is this fine nugget: "Activists and officials say many women have been infected after their husbands visited prostitutes." Of course women
Jeffrey Shapiro the former executive director of AIDS LifeCycle, an annual California event that raises millions to fight AIDS, has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, claiming he was fired because he is straight. This is almost as disturbing as buff guys in leather short shorts, sporting a tail of peacock feathers on their tight butts, parading down Market Street. But what is more disturbing is how I found out about it. The lawsuit was filed in LA on August 31. And apparently it got a little bit of play in the LGBT press and in San Francisco. However, I only heard about it today because the California Catholic Daily decided to do a report on this breaking news. Of course, they are not reporting it today because it is timely, rather they believe it important to alert us to the epidemic of breeder bashing which is sweeping the nation.I find it more than a little offensive that Mr. Shapiro was allege
Larry Craig, the Senator from Idaho, is resigning from the Senate. As most everyone on the planet knows, Larry Craig was arrested after soliciting sex in an airport men's room. He has denied that he is gay, but after being pressured by his Republican colleagues, he will be ending his Senate career.Compare that to the story of David Vitter, a Republican Senator from Louisiana. David Vitter had been rumored to have hired prostitutes, which he denied, until his phone number was found on the list turned over by the "DC madam". Unlike the debatable "crime" committed by Larry Craig (after all, he was arrested for tapping his foot and waving his hand under the bathroom stall divider), prostitution is definitely illegal in Washington DC. Instead out running Vitter out of town, Senate Republicans defended Vitter, describing his affair as a personal matter. Vitter, needless to say, it still in the Senate.A simple case of Republicans punishing the gay guy and defending the straight guy?Well, ye
Burn-out Smashing Pumpkins members Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlan held a 13 minute YouTube Q & A interview yesterday.
You got to love the great guitar work from their songs throughout the years, but holy Moses you can tell by the interview that the members of the group aren't hungry at all anymore. Worse, they make me (at least) want to fall asleep. The only good thing about the interview was hearing a little bit about Billy Corgan's setup:

From what I can tell the Smashing Pumpkins new album "Zeitgeist" has some solid guitar work from newcomer Jeff Schroeder. But not that great... Maybe I'm just in a bad mood today, but I feel the urge to severely rip on one of my all-time favorite bands in this highly one-sided post.

The Suits are having a stressful week. Global financial markets have been falling dramatically since yesterday, following the decision of France’s largest publicly-owned bank to freeze some of its funds with exposure to the US housing credit market, as well as the announcement Thursday of a major US mortgage firm that an increase in homeowner defaults caused its $50 million losses for the second-quarter. The scare sparked panic among banks and their investors whose investments face similar exposure, raising many governments’ fears of a global “credit crunch” in which banks reign in credit lines to one another. Virtually all US, European, and Asian markets have suffered losses, prompting central banks in many countries to intervene with extra cash to calm these markets.

Hamilton gets out of jail freeIt seems like only yesterday I was writing about the close, if somewhat pedestrian nature of F1 competition this season. Circuits like the new Nurburgring are one of the main factors contributing to that situation. But as last Sunday's European Grand Prix proved, add a bit of rain to the mix and even the most anodyne of circuits is instantly transformed into a classic. Alonso's robust move on Massa was reminiscent of Arnoux and Villeneuve's famous duel at Dijon and it's great to see a bit of aggressive rivalry building between the title rivals. Hamilton's chaotic weekend also means that Alonso is now only two points behind his rookie team-mate in the race for the championship. While there was action aplenty at the head of the field, it was Torro Rosso's American driver Scott Speed who seemed to have the most eventful weekend. He nearly rear-ended the safety car as he aquaplaned off the track at turn one, with only the quick reactions of its driver Ber

Reactee does t-shirt marketing by printing your company’s logo/slogan, a text keyword, and a number to text it(via SMS) to. When someone sees the shirt and texts the keyword, they get a message you’ve set in advance, and can change at anytime. This seems like a great way to generate buzz on the street(literally) about your product, and to take advantage of customer evangelism.

Howdy folks.
Welcome to my first post on the infamous GottaQuirk. I have been reading this blog for some time now, so it’s going to be quite surreal to see my words on its hallowed pages. I thought I’d kick off with this video Rob sent me. The idea is really simple, very funny and definitely viral.
I only have two criticisms:
1). I thought the production values and acting could have been better. Sure it’s an el cheapo viral video, but in my opinion the idea deserves just a little bit more polish.
2). Why oh why didn’t they upload it to YouTube? I had to.
But all in all, a great effort.
Well that’s post 1... short and sweet.
Comment on "Gay Bashing and the Art of Viral Video"
In all of my time of blogging about things related to the plus size community I have never come across anything so silly as Meme Roth and the National Action Against Obesity. The comparison of obesity to child abuse is crazy. When I saw this video, where she was calling American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks, diabetes and a heart attack waiting to happen my eyes rolled into the back of my head.
I know that there are other factors that go into choosing the winner of American Idol but to say because a person is not a size two that they are not good for such a position is discrimination at its highest level. Knowing that there is a non-profit organization out there that is pushing hatred against a section of the population makes me sick.
To make the claim;“Let’s finally recognize obesity as abuse—abuse of our children, abuse of ourselves—and together take action against it.” then follow that up with the disclaimer “The information on this site is provided for educationa
On the recent Hate Crimes Bill, I find myself, once again, pissing off most of my gay and lesbian friends, and aligned with the fundies. I wonder how many days Becky will be sleeping alone this time. This is never a comfortable place to be, and trust me, before I ever find myself in agreement with Pat Robertson, I do some pretty heavy soul searching. On Thursday the House passed the new hate crimes bill, extending coverage to people victimized because of sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. In addition to broadening the federal definition of a hate crime victim, the law provides funds so local authorities can request federal assistance for prosecutions in the aftermath of a hate crime. The fundies are attacking the measure as expanding "thought crimes" and as an attack on the First Amendment. Although, by and large, freedom is not something high on the Evangelical Agenda, they are right on this one.Regulating thought is a slippery slope, as the citizens of Provincetown found
A lot of my friends are repulsed by guys. They cannot stand male smell, hairness, and that thing between their legs. I fully appreciate where they are coming from on this. But, this is just a matter of aesthetics.Otherwise, I like men. I am a bit tired of all the male bashing. And if my gf’s would give them a chance they are fun companions in the girl-scoping thing.I have run into some real male dolts in my time. But there are the airheads as well. Why has it become so culturally acceptable to bash and ridicule men?Although this is not generally a good idea—take a look at TV. Stuff like The Simpsons-- King of Queens--Everybody Loves Raymond. The one thing all these shows have in common, is every Father is an idiot, moron or self-centered jerk. The only more prevalent character in situational comedy is the precocious, whiney child hopelessly in need of a paddling. The way these men are portrayed is, if it were not for the level-headed sensible wife, the whole family would implode wit
Another day of downside at the Karachi Stock Exchange. The market opened down with a gap of 135 points making a low of 11,157 and closed at 11,180. Perhaps it was more the ripples from yesterday’s China stock market crash, which fucked markets worldwide, than the impending CLN issue that took the market down. There was some foreign selling in Fauji Fertilizer and Engro towards end and OGDC got bashed down to 119.25. The market has closed below its 30 DMA after some time. 11,100 and 10,900 are the next downward resistance levels.

Note: This post started out being solely about Krak Forlag AS but I think it’s something that is worth reading for any business starting a blog.
I’ve been bashing Kraks Forlag AS and Krak.dk a lot lately over their link policy with regards to making their Terms of Service more prominent so that they users are aware that they may be subject to paying a hefty bill if they link to a Map page. Also because they STILL haven’t updated to their existing policy page to reflect the statements they have made in public.
But…
Today, I’m not going to bash them. Today I’m going to applaud them from stepping up and joining Web 2.0 (I hate that term) and starting blogs on Krak.dk
As I look around at the new Krak Blogs (doesn’t that just sound cool - “Krak blogs” - say it with a c Per Palmkvist Knudsen, Poul Anton Møller and Ove Leth Sørensen (still no content Ove?), I’m hopeful that it will make things more transparent at Kraks Forlag
A volatile day at the Karachi Stock market with the index swinging from 11,128 at its high down to a low of 10,865. It has gone from an overbought market to almost an oversold market in 4 trading sessions. OGDC was bashed down to 136 at its low, Rs. 20 off in three days and closed at 138, below its 200 DMA. It seems that the worst might be over with the new margin rules and an increase in the stocks allowed for CFS (Continuous Funding System, better known as badla) coming into play from Monday.
I have also heard that there will be an increase to the amount of stocks in CFS to 88 (it was 30 and will be 50 from Monday), that margin in illiquid stocks to be reduced to 60%, in house badla can be taken into the market without gross purchase, the badla cap of Rs.55 billion can be increased when required, and brokers are not required to pay the margins on institutional trading .The CFS limit will be enhanced to Rs 30 billion on November 6, 2006, Rs 37 billion on November 13, Rs 45 billion o
Again, all images courtesy of rpsports.comI know that the cheering blogs is long overdue (and I have a backlog of random lives to post), so I'll make as brief as possible...Hope you'll bear with me...The last team to perform was De La Salle. Theirs was the cleanest routine in the competition, and their sponsor cheer was unique with all that army concept (and an almost-lifesize moving tank). I thought they would kick the UP Pep out of the Top 3.But lo and behold, the results were the same as last year.3rd place was Far Eastern University. Too bad, I thought they were second.2nd place went to the University of the Philippines, as usual. And the sweet 7-time cheerdancing trophy went to the University of Santo Tomas Salinggawi Dance Troupe and Yellow Jackets! I hurled the confetti as it popped into the air and waved the yellow balloons as we cheered "Go USTe!" for a long, long time. They truly deserve to win.Or do they?A week after the competition, the bitter bridesmaids of UP Pep Squad
This is the continuation of "Bashing Birthday: Prelude" Read on and enjoy and the simplicities of college rivalries...But before people from "other" UAAP universities react, let me just say that the following comments were made for the love of the sport and not for dissing the schools. Entiende?***Before the much-awaited stunt fight, some poor students from the state school, University of the Philippines, raised a placard which raised: "U.P. kami. Kayo?" (We are from U.P. What "other" school are you in?). I shouted my lungs with a word that will plunge the our bridesmaids straight to reality: MA-HEEEEEEEE-RAP! Poor. What? As each squad begin to grace the court to perform their much-hyped routines, I oriented Paulie--a newbie in watching live cheering action--about the basics of each school squad.Ateneo Blue Babble Batallion was a surprise last 2003. The former bottom-feeder in the cheering competitions, they made news that year with a fourth-place finish below perennial champions UST (my
It was a bashing birthday for me!Nope, not the gay bashing I suffered from Mike during the freshman heydays (don't ask me if I still love him, I might a. cry, b. cringe, c. feel nostalgic, d. strike a poker face and say "I'm in the process of finding new love," smile then look away). What I'm excited to blog about is the cheering competition I've posted before in "What's Your Name And School?"The annual UAAP Cheering Championship was held right smack on my birthday, September 17. And what better way to celebrate my birthday is to realize that our usual Saturday TV shoot was re-sceheduled to the 18th and treat out Millet and Paulie to an afternoon of school spirit and school bashing.School bashing has been a favorite pasttime among UAAP Basketball fanatics, as with other collegiate rivalries like Tar Heels and Blue Devils, Texas U and A&M. The insults sometimes go way low, but there were only the few that became classics. To give you a little breather, I provide you my personal
I don't understand why Belly Dance Superstars is the big target that it is for belly dancers. What are they doing that is offensive? Okay I get the, "They are not authentic." "They only want skinny girls." "They are too ballet." Miles didn't ask me what I wanted. He's not creating a show for me, so why would I think that what I want (or any other single person) matters in his show? I can vote with my feet either to attend or not attend. He obviously has created HIS vision of what a show should be based on his years of experience in show business. He has earned the right to choose what dancers he wants in his show. I don't see fat ballerinas. I don't see fat chorus line dancers, so why is the criticism reserved for him when the dancers he has in his show are probably both older and heavier than any other dance form? His show is still running in the USA and Europe, so apparently he's making the right decision for the bottom line. And look on the bright side. We all have more perform

With HillRod and McNasty calling for a summer vacation from reality gas taxes, populist posturing on the price at the pumps is hitting an all time high. It's one thing for presidential candidates to propose sweet, feel-good nothings. It's another when the sitting Secretary for Transportation disses the dollars that help fuel her agency's good works (and the rest). Although Mary Peters held short of weighing-in on the tax holiday proposal, the SecTrans did tell The Detroit News that "as family budgets strain under the burden of record gasoline prices, it is increasingly clear that fuel taxes are not only ineffective but also wildly unpopular. Increasing dependence on gas taxes to fund infrastructure makes zero sense when Detroit and other automakers are working so h
