Sometimes, low-tech has its place in technology too!I need to give a shout out to Blurb. I published the first 2/3's of my blog into

      Valuing Subprime Mortgage Backed Securities
The issuance of subprime mortgage backed securities totaled $25.9 billion in June, down nearly 55% from the level recorded in June 2006, and a Friedman Billings Ramsey researcher says he expects subprime secularizations to remain at the $25 billion-a-month level for the rest of the year. “It looks like a sustainable rate,” FBR managing director Michael Youngblood said, considering that the rate on the 10-year Treasury note dropped below 5% recently, which should help to make subprime fixed-rate product more attractive to borrowers. However, the FRB researcher said he will be looking to FBR’s August report for confirmation. He noted that July is a seasonally weak month for subprime MBS issuance. Mr. Youngblood said there are multiple factors involved in the sharp decline in subprime MBS and originations, including the decision by some major lenders to stop offering popular subprime products — adjustable-rate 2/28 and 3/27 mortgages. In addition, there is a sh

Story 10 - Parents who backed out
Previously, we mentioned about tutors who backed out from assignments at the last minute. As a result, coordinators were unable to close the cases successfully. Of course, this is only one scenario which may result in the failure of cases. Another scenario would be the backing out of parents at the last minute.Just recently, I lost a few cases when parents backed out at the last minute, even after we had settled every detail for the arrangement of the first lesson. This is definitely very common but as a tuition coordinator, how would you feel at this point of time? Disappointed? Irritated? For me, I would say it is a mixed feeling of both. Since I entered this career, I always believe that tuition coordinators will put in their heart to service the parents. Often, it does not take a few but many calls to actually get the right tutor for the parents. Then, there would be alot of convincing to take place, especially if the parents called many agencies. Eventually, the parents get back t

White House Backed U.S. Attorney Firings, Officials Say
While it is entirely normal for an administration to replace en-masse political appointees in the beginning of a term it's unusual to do so mid term like this. And it is of course the White House's prerogative to do so. Initially the White House said it was strictly routine turnover but then later "clarified" that saying that while they had no direct inout they had replaced: "prosecutors they believed were not doing enough to carry out President Bush's policies on immigration, firearms and other issues". I think it's fair to assume that they are dumping the people that they think haven't embraced the Presidents open borders policy as enthusiastically as they wished. And they did admit that one was a simple political appointee that is a friend of the President.
