On the Importance of Attending the Prom
Did you go to the Prom? I did. I was straight back then, so I went with my boyfriend at the time. Bahamas: ...every Sunday the number of men actively attending church services decreases
When the household head refuses to go to church: By KARAN MINNIS, Guardian Lifestyles Reporter - Nassau, Bahamas: Men — in most societies they are considered the head of the home. They are expected to make the rules and set the example. They are supposed to make the decisions and set the home foundation. Can you imagine what happens when the examples fall short? And more importantly, what happens when these "household leaders" turn their backs on the church and its teachings and principles? This scenario is not so hard to imagine as every Sunday the number of men actively attending church services decreases. In their defense, many of these men claim that they have valid reasons. Augustus Strachan, (name changed) a 51-year-old former Anglican with a family of three, says for him church has just become a society event with no true meaning to its purpose, hence his reason for not attending. "Church has become a social event, and that's why I don't go," he said. "Most people

This first of four major annual tennis tournaments runs from January 14-27, 2008, in Melbourne, which just so happens to be the city I leave from on my way to Bali (Jan 29). Of course that’d put me there toward the end of the tournament for the men’s semifinals and finals, the costliest and potentially most difficult matches to attend. However, Chris did suggest that it’d be cool to just hang out on the grounds, if getting a ticket wasn’t feasible. I’m sure seeking a single ticket would make the process a little easier, so it’d just come down to how much I’d be willing to pay. It is certainly an event I intend to k

I will post more about the subject, just point me in the direction of your concerns. Some general guidelines:What I really like doing is looking around for inspiration before any big event. I scour magazines and looks on celebs or from make-up lines. You can get tons of ideas this way and maybe decide on elements from particular looks and mesh them to create something unique of your own.Try not to be too matchy-matchy with your make-up. I don't go for make-up colours that clash too much with my outfit, but try thinking of your make-up as needing to suit your face. You want to flatter your face, not necessarily your outfit. I know this sounds weird, but if you subtly enhance your features you stand out. If you coordinate you make-up wi

Cisco CCNA / CCNP Certification Exam: Attending A Video Boot Camp
When you're studying for the CCNA and CCNP exams, you've got a lot of different choices when it comes to training. One popular choice is choosing one of the many "boot camps" and five-day in-person courses that are out there. I've taught quite a few of these, and while many of them are good, they do have drawbacks. Of course, one is cost. Many employers are putting the brakes on paying for

      Attending my first bead show
This past Saturday I attended my first bead show. Have you ever been to one? Oronzo told me about it and surprised me in offering to come. Initially, I think he wanted to attend to help keep my spending in line and he did that, sort of, but not as well as he thought he would. This bead show was amazing. There were about 104 vendors present from all over the United States. There were glass beads, semi-precious stones, sterling silver findings and intricate clasps, wire wrap, and so much more for sale! They even had 3 artists showing how they made their own glass lamp beads. I spent about 30 minutes just watching that!I spent far too much money, even with Oronzo there. In the end, he got caught up with the excitement and made his own purchases (Tiger Eye, red dyed coral, onyx, and hematite strands) so that I could design some jewelry for his mom and sisters as gifts. The other fun part of attending this beading extravaganza was seeing all the different business names listed in the guide bo

Fedor Signs with Affliction and Will be Attending UFC 75
This is an excerpt from the article at 5thround.comThis is a pretty big announcement that hasn't gotten a lot of press because fans are currently sick of hearing about Fedor and the UFC's issues with their contract negotiations. On that note though, according to the most recent Beatdown on Sherdog, it was said that the only issue with the contract is Fedor's desire to continue his Sambo fighting. The UFC has always wanted their fighters to be exclusive to the organization, so it will be interesting to see what ends up happening in the next week which is when everyone believes a decision will be made.Fedor will be attending UFC 75, but not for the reasons you may believe. He still isn't signed, so the UFC won't announce him but don't be surprised if they show him on camera to start getting fans accustomed to his face. Instead, Emelianenko will be in attendance at the O2 arena to promote the Affliction clothing line.In my opinion this all but assures that Fedor Emelianenko will be

      attending a few parties
songs from the interwebThere were a few decadent parties to attend, they all wallowed in leaves and misery and sunshine rain. People wore masks over their faces, they had diamond faces to hide; a mystery fever. I went to the party on “Tell Street”, just above “Keglar's Square”. The party was broken-hearted, crimson and full of orchestral music. I saw a few people that I knew, but otherwise was unacquainted with most of the crowd. The food was prepared by a gourmet and we all drank champagne. About an hour into the party, the host, “Dr. Philip Brownshoe”, held a toast. He toasted to life and many other things which I didn't hear. I didn't hear because I was too busy watching a criminal roam through the crowd, pacing and taking notes. Featured Artists:1. Thinking about attending Aspen?
....then check out this video about the state of the festival. It's kind of like an infomercial for Aspen (it reminds me of the Troy McClure videos from The Simpsons), but it gives you a good idea of what goes on at Aspen, and it may just pump you up for the festival if you're attending this summer.

President yet to decide on attending House interpellation session
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has not yet decided whether he will attend a House of Representatives (DPR) plenary session to respond to the legislature`s interpellation on Indonesia`s support for the United Nations Security Council resolution on Iran`s nuclear program, presidential spokesman Andi Malarangeng said here on Tuesday. "The president understands well that it is the DPR`s right to ask questions and he will respond properly. But the one who can answer the DPR`s questions is not necessarily the president because he can be represented by somebody else," Andi Malarangeng said.

the benefit of attending inservice training: you have lots of time to knit
I was concerned about taking my knitting to the training--would people think I was being disrespectful or not listening? I know that I can knit and listen, but not everyone is cognizant of that. So anyway, I had one row done on the hat when I stuffed it in my bag in the morning, but the whole thing done by the time I got home last night. I was most thrilled by peoples' responses; almost everyone else wished they had brought something to work on, too. So anyway, this is my mum's christmas present. The mitts came from this pattern and the hat pattern is here. (Please excuse the circles under eyes, etc. It was the end of the day but I wanted to get the picture up before we head off to Niagra Falls to celebrate le anniversary. One year! hooray!)
