I'm home. But absolutely exhausted. Not that it wasn't a fantastic trip. Not that I did much besides relax in the company of amazing friends for the last six days. But somehow traveling home, the book I read, the messages before, during and after my trip stole every last ounce of my energy. Sleeping in my own bed will help. As will just being home. Eli definitely knows that when he falls asleep he is loved by his mommy and daddy. I think when a kid falls asleep there has to be a little apprehension involved. Maybe it goes deeper than what we as parents can see. I personally think it would be kinda scary to be put into a bed, in a dark room with stuffed animals staring at me and expected to fall asleep. Tired or not, it has to be a scary situation.
I do my best to try to conquer this possible fear by making bedtime fun and showering Eli with affection. I think getting him to laugh, smile and play right before bed accomplishes a few things:
It tires him out!
He knows he is loved!
He understands that Daddy will be there in the morning when he wakes up to make him breakfast and take care of him!

Let's face it, not every album in every band's back catalog can be spectacular. Let's hope that the latest from Rogue Wave is simply a misstep on their way to a brilliant career. While I really loved their excellent 2005 album Descended Like Vultures, their latest, Asleep at Heaven's Gate just ain't doing it for me. Sure it's good, and better than a good portion of what was released this year. It just isn't as good as the Bay Area foursome's previous two records. Asleep at Heaven's Gate sounds like exactly the record that Rogue Wave wanted to (and may have needed to) make. Maybe it has to do with the band's departure from Sub Pop and their new affiliation with Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records or perhaps it is the band trying to get back up to speed after drummer Pat Spurgeon's unfortunate kidney trouble last year but Asleep at Heaven's Gate sounds unfocused. We are all familiar that if you are sleepy, the chances of forcing yourself to drive may be dangerous. For one thing, driving needs full attention and alertness and if you don’t care much for your safety, just consider the passengers and the victims you may hurt if you are not careful.
A lot of people have encountered accidents due to drivers who fall asleep. Causes usually stem from being drunk or lacking sleep overall. This often occurs in late nights to early mornings when people think there are lesser cars.
But the thing is, the probability of incurring an accident is quite high. People want to get to their homes hastily but consider options especially if you cannot keep your eyes wide open.

Last night I switched from perfect child mode back into The Revolutionary.
I went to bed at 6pm and by 10pm I had made Mummy run up and down the stairs 25 times. I know this because Mummy told me.
'Amy for goodness sakes it is BEDTIME. You are TIRED. Go back to sleep and STAY that way. I have been up and down the stairs 25 TIMES ALREADY!!! SLEEP!!!'

Every line you scrape is a trench to hold a little bit of ink.I've cross hatched on top of the cross hatch to ensure that enough pigment will adhere to the areas where I want darkest darks. Dry Point prints a softer line than an etching, so I've found that you really have to dig - and do so at an angle - to kick up a bur in the plexi. According to police, a 26-year-old man by the name of Pedro Fernando Brito was sleeping in his truck as it drove down the road this past Sunday. The man did not wake up when his truck crossed over the centerline, or when one of the police officers jumped in the vehicle as it was moving and put the truck in neutral.
The complaint said that he was unresponsive when the officer stopped the vehicle and that “Police had to shake the defendant’s shoulder and yell at him to wake him up.” Lt. It was a wonderful change of routine as they had never fallen asleep to the piano at nighttime (I remember Adam may have for naps but more out of sheer exhaustion). I am still half asleep, but here I am, blogging away. It's Sunday, but we are not really a church goer family. Only my family in the Philippines do go to church every Sunday. They are religious, yet sometimes I tell them that they should act like one, because they don't live or act like one at times. That is the problem with so called religious people, some just don't act nor live like they are religious. Is it being phoney? I don't know, if you are such a big sinner and you go to church, does it lessen you sin? My mother believeds so...hmmm...hopefully she is right, if that is all it takes. And if by all means, since the BTK killer was a church member and went to church every Sunday, could it be that he has lessened his sin?
Normally, games and special events are supposed to keep you up and about. But dozing off at some point cannot be avoided, even at lively events. But such a scenario is indeed rare to occur and from all indications, it would be best to stay awake or become the laughing stock or center of attention rather than the game.
The worst part of it all is that a person who may not be aware of what is going on might find himself being the focus of attention. Now that would really be embarrassing!

These were the words that roused me at 1:30am this morning.
“What’s wrong Baby?” I asked.
“Nothing. I just want to be with you guys,” he replied, standing next to our bed, clutching his pillow and little toy chimp.
In a sleep induced stupor I agreed (I know, I know) and pulled him into our bed. This simple act ensured a good night’s sleep for our darling son and a spotty night’s sleep for Mom and Dad.
Thus my desperate need to lay down this afternoon around 3pm. Johnny crawled up next to me, just to chat me up about why I was laying down at this unusual hour.
“Why don’t we take a little snooze Honey? You and Momma?” I said in a failed attempt to obtain some quiet.
“But, I’m really not sleepy Momma,” he said earnestly.
“Well, Honey. Momma is very, very tired. I didn’t sleep very well last night.”
“Oh, Momma!” he said, taking my face in his little five year-old hands. &ldq
Yes, tonight my little angel has actually been asleep since 8:20!!! I can’t remember when the last time that happened was! Last night it was 10:45!! But that was under special circumstances and can’t be blamed completely on her. My parents were visiting and we had a fun filled day of playing outside and eating ice cream right before bed…. we knew we shouldn’t have, but honestly bedtime doesn’t go easily without ice cream, so we thought why not let her enjoy too.
My parents had a blast with her. She was having tea parties and sticker book fun with my dad… he and my mom were impressed at her adding skills. I know I have told them and thought she had “shown off” for them but I guess I was wrong. She definitely did NOT get that skill from Mommy :) We grilled some yummy dinner, played outdoors a lot including her pool, bubbles, slide, ring toss, frisbee, balls, and spraying with the hose, so she was happy and we all had a nice day togethe
Ok, so that didn’t happen…but I was hoping. I remember when she was in her early potty training stages and would be pretty much sleeping on the potty….LOL!! That wasn’t the case tonight though. I am so proud of not losing my cool with her…everything was methodic and calm. Inside my head was a different story:) Eventually I left her with a baby doll, her light on very low dim and awake in bed and she stayed there….after a thousand hugs and kisses…but got up a few minutes later and was quiet. I went up to find her on the potty….I handed her a wipe and said “here you go…goodnight” and left. Of course I was peering through the door I left open…although she can go by herself, she’s having “issues” lately and wiping herself would be something I’d have to clean up after….also she’s not quite able to reach the sink to turn it on so I’d have to help her wash her hands anywa

That’s really all there is to it this week. I have done nothing at all besides work, work, and more work and

On the bright side, it’s been going remarkably well. All the pictures have been taken and edited,
all the product descriptions have been written, all the packaging has been
settled on and prices decided. I even
designed and drew a logo. This weekend
should find the website completed and, with a little research and testing at
the beginning of next week, I should be ready to go. Sadly, all of this was of little consolation to the cats who
decided that my absence was unacceptable and informed me of this by peeing. On my pillow. In my bed. While I was
using it. There’s really nothing like
waking up to warm puddles. I imagine
it’s not that different from waking up with a severed horse head in your
bed. Only, perhaps, a little scarier.
And now,
Sooner or later, people who are on the go will have to take heed that lack of sleep may claim lives if not incapacitate people. Such mishaps can be seen. Many point this towards falling asleep behind the wheel or being drunk which many of us now is a prime reason for falling into these dizzy traps we encounter.
We all want to get to our own homes and lay on our beds as quickly as possible. But in able to do so, we must make sure we can reach them first. Attending events or forever being on the outside and trying to socialize or earn a living should have its own share of limitations. As humans, we will all get to the point of that need of rest since that is how our bodies work.
Hence, the next time you may be traveling by car, make sure you are fit to drive. Lives need sleep but not permanent ones where we may not wake up soundly anymore.

I’m working from home today, and without warning my internet connection just died. TDC is my service provider here in Denmark and the provide my Internet, telephone and cable TV over one fat pipe that comes into my house. Funnily enough I also have my mobile phones on their service, but that’s something different.
I can’t really complain about TDC’s service, as it has been quite good (except for the exceptional hassle we had just getting them to give us an internet connection) and I haven’t had many unexpected outages this year. At most 4 in the whole year and only one of them was for longer than a few minutes.
It’s just frustrating to have the outage now as I’m in the middle of finishing an important project for a client and I said I’d upload the work to their servers by 2 PM.
