Yesterday while having a birthday lunch with Z and her friend K the topic of government came up somehow and brilliant 10 year old K just jumped in with “I hate the government since I read that Oklahoma book Z recommended”. The project aims at strengthening the scientific understanding of the risks associated with storage of CO2 for the purpose of reducing atmospheric emissions. The investigations are related to the study of non-linear partial differential equations arising from the multi-phase flow in porous media. Methods from Scientific Computing will be applied, i.e. the investigations will involve mathematical and numerical models, numerical simulations and their physical and mathematical interpretation.The candidate is expected to work in the multidisciplinary environment of the project (applied mathematics, computational science and engineering).
