Teenagers who watch television for three or more hours per day may have a higher risk of attention and learning difficulties in their adolescent and early adult years, the researchers said in the study. Watching entertainment TV programmes might contribute to learning problems because it requires little intellectual effort, promotes problems with attention and contributes to disinterest in school. Children and teenagers in industrialized nations spend an average of two or more hours per day watching television, with more than 90 percent of viewing time watching entertainment and general audience programming, said the study. Most recently I showed a sketch that is unfinished, but has taken me two days of work so far, to my mother. She suggested that I work on the values of light and dark to establish shadows in my sketches. This helps make form in my subjects and keeps them from looking flat on the page.My mother also suggested that I attend an art class to learn about traditional techniques in drawing to achieve certain effects. I have a pretty light hand when it comes to sketching, so applying shadows to the areas that need it might be hard for me at first. My mother said that I have a really good eye for perspective, but I lack the ability to determine the lighting of my subjects.
