» 2nd-Gen Zune Clone Sold on eBay - PMP Today
Microsoft will go nutters over this piece of news. The Zune 8 (8GB) has been cloned and the fake has been sold on eBay. For the year that we have been covering PMP news, this is the first time we’ve come across an real Zune [...]
Microsoft has done it again - it came out with a quick-and-dirty product and then followed up with a better version. The new Zune portable media player models that debuted this week look better, have better wireless features and share songs in a more useful way than last year’s moderately successful model.
Still, Apple doesn’t need to worry about losing its dominance in music players. The newest iPods and the iPhone have better features than the new Zune models. Version 2.0 serves the purpose of filling Microsoft’s product line and giving the Zune its own unique identity. But it still will be years before Microsoft can be a threat to Apple.
One step at a time, the Microsoft folks say. Last time, Microsoft outsourced a lot of work. This time, it handled the design internally with more forethought; that is evident in such improved features as a navigation wheel that spins like a bicycle wheel, said Jason Reindorp, director of Zune. The company has revamped its music We
One year to the day after Microsoft release the first model of the Zune media player, the Zune 2 has been unleashed upon us. I’m not going to contribute to the monstrous hype that has been surrounding this event, I’m just going to give you my thoughts and impressions on what this means to two different segments of people: podcasters and consumers.
Let me start by saying this: I personally have not had the opportunity to play with one of the new Zunes. Yet. That problem will be fixed in short order. But I have had the chance to update my original Zune (in stunning brown skin) to the new version 2.1 software. Overall, that experience went much more smoothly than any other Zune update to this point. Once the software downloaded, I was able to hook up my Zune and update the system in fairly short order with no headaches that I can think of. Well done, guys. Well done.
The interface itself on the Zune seems to be a little bit easi
Zune 80
Duración de bateria: 20 horas musica (WiFi off) / 5 horas video.
Tiempo de carga: 2.25 horas / 1.25 horas para el 90% via USB.
Zune 4 / Zune 8
Duración de bateria: 20 horas musica (WiFi off) / 4 horas video.

$150 Zunes -- buy one, please buy oneWe're not sure we want to know what frightening methods of coercion Woot used to snag enough (white) Zunes to sell on the site for $150 apiece, but if you're looking for a deal that won't get rejected on the grounds of it being, well, erroneous, now's your chance. Probably a bit more than a million by this time. M&C reports that one million Zunes have been sold since its release on November 14, 2006. Hooray? (Well it depends on how you feel about Zunes.) Microsoft estimated that they would reach the one million mark by June, so I guess they’re happy right now. However, I don’t think that one million Zunes are necessarily in someone’s hands. A portion of that million are most likely still on store shelves. But whatever. If franchise owners are willing to buy the Zune for their stores then they must have some sort of calculation that made the Zune a good deal.
So what digital music player do you like or own? Was it good? or crappy? Thoughts in the comments!
microsoft, one million, zune
Microsoft readies slimmer HDD-based Zune and a new flash-based ZuneMicrosoft's answer to Apple's popular iPod family of players was first launched in mid-November 2006. The $249 player promised to change the way we socialize with portable audio devices while at the same time offering the Zune Marketplace which is Microsoft's equivalent to iTunes. The original Zune came in three colors (white, black and brown) and featured a 30GB HDD, 4" color screen, built-in FM tuner and WiFi connectivity for "3-day-or-3-play" wireless music sharing. At launch, Microsoft also made available 100 limited edition hot pink Zunes which quickly made the rounds on eBay for insane prices. Recently, Microsoft added a fourth official color to the Zune family: pink. While Apple is already celebrating 100 million iPods sold nearly six years into its initial launch, Microsoft has more sedate figures for its Zune. Microsoft expects to top the one million mark by next month and is right now holding on to roughly 2
The folks at iPodMods have already managed to cram a 40GB hard drive into a Zune (among other mods), but that apparently wasn’t enough to whet their appetite for storage, with ‘em now taking things even further by stuffing 100GB drives into both Zunes and iPods. Read on…

They're Microsoft's answer to Apple's 2nd generation of ipods.
