What started out as a normal monthly DVD shopping spree ended up being a week of nothing but zombies. I've never watched Resident Evil in its entirety so when the DVD was going cheap, I had to get it. I wouldn't say that the movie was the awesome of awesome but as a horror movie with zombies, it was cool. I'd prefer if it was more gory; reckless spraying of blood and entrails, just like Dawn of The Dead. Less shooting of the zombies, more of the eating people. I know, I'm blood thirsty. Anyway, the ending of the movie was so unsatisfactory that I had to get the rest of the movies in the series. Even then, the ending of Resident Evil: Extinction was totally unsatisfactory. We humans have fallen victim to the Alien Brain Thingys' mind control, so it falls upon a trio of heroic teenage zombies to save us. I usually don’t say this about undead people, but I hate those Left 4 Dead zombies, thinking they can get away like this. The PC and Xbox 360 FPS game has been delayed, making those zombies quietly sneaking into early 2008. “We’re saying early 08,” Valve’s Chet Faliszek said at QuakeCon 2007. “Really we just want to make sure that when it’s released it’s great.” They even hinted to Eurogamer that Steam’s free weekends might be used to help promote the game when it does come out. Marvel Zombies vs. the Army of Darkness is actually a much better diversion than I thought it would be. While much of it does play like a fan boy's wet dream, John Layman does a perfectly reasonable job laying it all out. Most of the jokes don't work as well as the should (the lack of Bruce Campbell's voice does it no good), but Layman does have some funny bits in it, particularly the Marvel 616 version of Ash (or whatever the number of the Marvel Zombie universe is) and the Necronomican. A better version of this story would be a tragedy centering around Doctor Doom trying to save the human race and, a lot of the time, Ash feels like he's just been inserted in a Marvel origin story... but it's amusing enough.As it works out, with the Marvel Universe being zombified and possible protagonists going blood-thirsty every other page, the story has to center around Ash. This 30th anniversary edition presents both the stereo and mono versions (and there are substantial differences) of the melancholic, keyboard-dominated pop that flowed from Rod Argent and bassist Chris White. The Zombies' main songwriters explored "psychedelic" themes from odd angles. Here songs address a letter to a girlfriend in jail ("Care of Cell 44") and war ("Butcher's Tale"). There's even a "flowers-in-their-hair" hippie anthem (the gorgeous "Hung Up on a Dream"). Well Chikako now has 1st position (in her class). In my School students are seated so that the best student is on the far left with #2 being second from left etc etc..This is so when I ask my questions the best student catches first and the last student has the most time to watch, listen, and prepare. It has worked excellent for the last 3 years. Chikako was #3....then she was #2 and now she takes the BIG seat and she is the youngest in her class!! It’s either really early or really late for Halloween - take your choice - but when I saw that a guy named Len was offering to draw custom monsters based on a title of your choosing on his website Monsterbymail.com, I knew I had to get one. So I chose “Pinot Swilling Parker Zombies From Hell!” naturally. I’d actually hoped for a fleet of zombies slavishly following their master, who I hadn’t pictured as a zombie himself - more of a mad scientist type, but Len decided to go ahead and draw Parker as a zombie. Artistic license I guess. Anyway I’m still stoked on the picture and I even had Len make a time lapse video of himself drawing Zombie Parker. Darn good likeness!
