Two zebras are talking and one asks the other, "Am I black with white stripes or white with black stripes?" The other replies, "Well I don't know. You should pray to God about that and ask him." So that night he did and God replied, "You are what you are." The next day he said to the other zebra, "I still don't understand what I am because God just said, "You are what you are." The second zebra re
Carcinoid cancer is a difficult disease to diagnose; find out what you, and your doctor, need to know.William of Ockham, a 14th-century Franciscan friar, is widely credited as the originator of Occam’s Razor (also "Ockham’s"), a principle that states, in the barest of terms, that "the simplest explanation tends to be the right one." In the practice of medicine, this principle is often simplified even further, to the famous (or infamous) "When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras".This principle is so commonly accepted in modern medical practice that it is often used as the rationale for medical decision-making. The Journal of the American Board of American Practice refers to it as "an evidence-based model of accountability", explaining the initial diagnosis-making protocol as f
Welcome to another (ever-belated) Friday Factoid!
Do you know what a MULE is? Really?
Well, get ready for an education.
When a female horse and a male donkey mate, the offspring is called a mule.
But when a male horse and a female donkey mate, the offspring is called a hinny.
When a male zebra and a female donkey mate the offspring is called a 'zedonk' or 'zebrass'.
But despite all of this

The kids and I went to the zoo today, since the big two didn’t have school. They’re going again on Tuesday for a field trip, but I thought it’d be fun to go today as well. We had a nice time! We were only there about an hour and a half or so, but we saw most of our favorite animals, including the DARLING baby giraffe. We also had a nice picnic lunch in a grassy area. It was super nice until Mallory got STUNG BY A BEE!! Eeek!
We headed over to First Aid and they pulled out the stinger and put a paste of baking soda and water on it. She was so brave!! I’ve never been stung by a bee in my life, so I was freaking out way more than she was.
Paul should be home in a few minutes now, and then the two of us are going OUT tonight! Alone! For his birthday! Yay!
A frase escrita nos cartazes é “Bronx Zoo – Why Not Today?” (Zôo do Bronx – Por que não hoje?). Confira:

That's it! 2 guys with stripes are busy checking out the 2 girl zebras not in the picture. This is an original scratchboard on Ampersand clayboard. It is initialed on the front by me, Naquaiya, and signed on the back. It is sealed, fitted with wood and hardware so you can hang it on your wall without a frame. Of course, you could put it in a shadow box frame under glass and that would be even better.

Yellow Moon Zebrasscratchboard on clayboard11"x14" print on archivalmatte paper $40 I've been thinking about going back into my portfolio and reworking some old images. Similar to what some people have found out through the painting of eggs on Sunday's gallery. How you paint the same subject matter over time is an interesting and revealing exercise. This basic image of zebras in this grooming pose is one I drew some years ago and the original was large. I decided to try and do it again, with a different outlook and in a very small format. I found that it went quickly and I made several important changes--the moon here is much bigger than my old moon and the yellow cast in the night sky creates the mood I'm looking for. The vegetation is more abstracted and I kept the colors dark so as not to compete with the animals. I concentrated on highlighting only the topline of the animals. I think I want to try this again.
