Just because something is blue and looks like it might be yummy, isn't a good reason to eat it (or try to eat it).
Emmett noticed a blue, un-attended marker sitting on the edge of the table this evening, and decided he'd see how it tasted.
Below is how it turned out.

Turned into Holland Village, one would probably missed a minimalist store furnishing decked in white – but with its colourful slogans and buttons SCREAMING on the exterior walls, one cannot help but stand up and take notice of this new outlet in the vicinity – Frolick. Following right after another icy haven that opened in the surrounding area – Cold Rock Ice Creamery, run by savvy young owners, May Chan and Lynn Ong, Frolick opened by Mr John Tan, 25, is essentially pursing the frozen yoghurt route. At Frolick, customers are given free buttons with naughty slogans with every purchase, with mine suggesting “I Like It Topless”. This politically incorrect theme – an appeal to the now younger and rebellious generation – is also adopted in their various tabletops – “WE STAY H

Some friends of mine have just returned from visiting their family in Vera in Almeria and they brought me a little present...They brought me a selection of their local chorizos. I love chorizo! If you haven't tried it then next time you're in Spain either buy the sliced one you put in a roll or the sausage type ones which you can fry (or grill). All are superb. Look what I got:Can't you just taste it? Mmmmmm.Anyway, the weather in Manilva seems to be getting better now after a couple of weeks of wind and rain, typical for April time. There are even some "guiris" in the pool! A bit too cold for me yet!

I LOVE CHOCOLATE! And this thing looks and smells just like chocolate pudding! YUMMY!It's a chocolate facial made by Lush, a UK based skincare company that makes only handmade natural and vegan skincare and body products.Cupcake, as its called, is chocolate heaven for oily and breakout-prone skin. Leave for five to ten minutes, then rinse away with warm water. Because of the rave reviews of this mascara, specifically by Slvrlips (Nikkia) and Seymone, I picked up Maybelline's Define-A-Lash Volume mascara during one of the many BOGO's at CVS. Being a mascara fiend and trying just about everything, I eventually settled on Dior Show, then the less expensive Loreal Voluminous mascara. Nothing could wow me at this point. I was right. This is a nice mascara, but having being part of the Lash Exact craze that went down last year, this is a close little cousin. The brush didn't wow me at all either. The dip in the center made the brush a bit wonkier to handle. It lengthened and defined my lashes nicely and naturally, but the volume wasn't the volume that I knew a mascara could deliver. Whenever I'm wearing Loreal Voluminous, I usually get asked if my las

Hello to all who have linked over from Lysa's Thanks for visiting. I can't wait to visit your sites and see your recipes. First, let me tell you that both of these recipes get A+ in great taste and A+ in simple which is a necessity since I'm relatively new to the whole cooking thing. In January I decided I needed to work on saving money and losing some weight. To do this, I've been cooking and have cut out eating out by about 85%. I've lost 16lbs! The first recipe is a healthy soup that you can make in a slow cooker. The second is a recipe I found on line at Hershey's and made and gave away. (Definitely not diet friendly but apparently extremely tasteful. I believe I had the person I made if for say it was "sinfully good.")OH, yeah, and I'm hosting a contest this weekend. Click here or the
I may not be in the Philippines anymore, but every once in a while I feel like I am at home when I get to cook some of the food I am accustomed to like "Puto"-steamed rice cake. My husband loves those steamed rice cakes. A good thing because normally he doesn't eat any Philippine food. So he likes puto, and other sweet confections. Our children eats with me, and would eat what I eat. That is nice, that I have them to share my food with. My husband can't stomach the dry fish though, so he is out. He is not so much into seafood. Well, anyway, here I included what I cooked-steamed rice cakes, only I didn't have the proper tools to be able to cook them like we do in the Philippines. I put them in the muffin pan for shaping them, and baked them for a while, then put them in the bamboo steamer i

On Wednesday Lani was not feeling well and was just chilling out on the couch with me. It was 9am and Ellen was coming on. She then started asking for "I ba u, u ba ee" (Barney) and I was all like "Uh, honey, let's watch Ellen Dance." Lani wanted no part of it and started freaking out. She climbed down from the couch and climbed into the bouncer crying for Barney. I almost gave in then I remembered the portable DVD player. So, we were both happy:) I was able to watch Ellen and she was able to get her Barney fix.A friend of mine let me know about these "tings"! They are dairy free and yummy! I am not sure if they are officially vegan since there is a warning that says these "tings" were manufactured in a facility with dairy product. They are a perfect little snack for Lani and the rest of the family. We ALL like them, which is a bad thing because they are kind of expensive. When you open the bag, the "tings" look just like che.etos but they are dairy free and yummy. Did I mention that

Right now I'm watching Djokovic vs Nadal. Loving it. I have a date later, and all the time in the world to relax, luxuriate, and then go take a nice, decadently long bubble bath. Yum!On the personal fitness front, I've been pretty good this week. Workout and diet are in sync. NO bad stuff. And anyway, with next week being Thanksgiving day, that's a good thing. Last year I made a real pumpkin pie. Not from a can, but from a real pumpkin. It was something that I hoped to do again this year, I even grew small sweet pumpkins in my garden lookig forward to those pumpkin pies. Unfortunately something got ahold of my poor little pumpkins and killed them off before I could save them. Still, eating a real pumpkin pie is something so delicious that everyone should try at least once. You will never be able to look at the canned stuff or another frozen store bought pie again.
To begin you will want to buy a pie pumpkin. They are smaller and sweeter than the pumpkins sold for Jack O’Lanterns at Halloween, generally only about 8 inches in diameter. Be sure when you are buying your pumpkin that you get one made for pies. Take your pumpkin and cut it in half down the center. This makes it easier to scoop out all of the seeds and the stringy mess that is inside. Be sure to save the seeds for roasted pumpkin seeds later!

The other day I was searching the internet high and low for a few good fast and easy recipes; I think I've cooked 'em all! Then it dawned on me ... some people don't know what I know and they don't know what they're missing either. So let me fill ya in if you don't know.Pico de Gallo is as Mexican to Mexicans as applie pie is to Americans. Does that make sense? Anyway it's really simple to make, it lasts for days and, most often, it gives food that extra little kick that will make ordinary meals seem extraordinary. Yep it's just that good. Here's a basic recipe:Ingredients:TomatoesOnionsAvocadosCilantroJalepeñosLemon or Lime (I prefer lemon)Salt to tasteIt's hard for me to explain exact measurements because I never cook with a measuring cook in hand or a cookbook in front of me; I just slap it all together. Calling all fans of Sushi Tei in Singapore, you can now enjoy the yummy sushi, sashimi, hand rolls and bentos at Sushi Zanmai at The Gardens, Mid Valley City. While searching for a lunch venue last weekend, we stopped by to check out the menu at the entrance. Being a regular patron of Sushi Tei, I noticed that the menu looked similar. After a quick confirmation with the staff, I found out that I was right and we grabbed a table right away.We were amazed that the prices in the menu were so reasonable. It was almost dollar to dollar with Singapore. In other words, in Singapore, I would pay $16 for an Unagi bento and in KL, the same dish is RM16! Wow! What savings :) DH ordered an appetizer to try. It was his treat that day. This cuttlefish wasabi didn't look that appetizing but it tasted ok, a bit slimy though. This aromatic plant has pale green, celery-like stems and bright green, feathery foliage. It has a broad, bulbous base that is treated like a vegetable. A perfect way to end your Easter meal is by enjoying these little yummies which are about as fun to make as they are to eat. Enjoy! Divide the mixture into three even portions and place each portion in a bowl. Add red food coloring to one bowl and mix to combine. Add blue food coloring to the second bowl and mix to combine. Add yellow and blue food coloring to the third bowl and mix to combine.Place 1/4 of a cup of mixture onto a baking paper covered oven tray. Using the back of a tablespoon, press the spoon into the mixture to form a hollow nest area. Bake at 375 C, or 175 C for 8 to 10 minutes. Fill with small Easter

This month's recipe is in conjunction with Baltimore, MD being named the top tailgating city in the NFL by a panel of experts. The recipe comes from a pair who have been as much a staple at M & T Bank Stadium as Ray Lewis. Brothers Marc and Gary Scher have held the “Poe Brothers Tailgate” in the M and T Bank Stadium lot since the Baltimore Ravens first preseason game in 1996. The brothers’ love of cooking began as children watching their father create specialty meals. I took my bachelor degree in Yogyakarta. At first I don't rate
Yogya highly, since it seems

At a recent party I was boasting about Will’s amazing corn popping skills (we eat popcorn at least 4 times a week). What is his oil of choice? Canola oil.
Rut-Row!
You should of seen the look of shock on my guest’s faces. Didn’t we know that canola oil is a horrible genetically engineered rapeseed? Ah, no.
Later that night Will was bummed because he was sure he could never attain his bowl of perfectly popped kernels without canola oil. I was bummed because at the last grocery store run we stocked up - so we have two or three bottles of organic canola oil in our cupboard. So we turn to the Internet to confirm or waylay our fears. At first glance it is shocking to see all the toxic effects of canola oil. How can they be selling that stuff?? But if you take a closer look it looks as if its all a hoax.
But it goes way beyond the email hoax. There is a substantial anti-canola camp out there. How can there be nothing wrong with it when there is so much bias agai
I'm having a major craving for ice cream right now. I don't care what brand it is... I don't care if you give me Paddle Pop right now, I'll wrestle it from you. Actually, there is a tub of Bulla's Chocolate "something or other" ice cream in the freezer downstairs. But yes, I am a certified preggers scaredy cat. No way am I going to walk down the spiral staircase and into the kitchen and have to prepare myself a bowl. (I'm a bowl chick.. not a tub hogger). Anyways, was browsing around the net and found this quiz.. Pretty interesting how they came up with that result just from my name.. :D Have fun checking yours out..You Are Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies Ice CreamNot *those* magic brownies! What Flavor Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Are You?

Not too long ago I was raving about and totally in love with Valentino's Lacca Bow Shopper . Now, I'm obsessing over this Bow Clutch cum Wristlet, also by Valentino. It seems as if Valentino can do no wrong when it comes to bow details and oversized ones, at that! Or perhaps I just love anything Valentino does with bow details? Ah well, either way, I'm totally loving this Bow Clutch, esp the Striped one (see below)!Striped ClutchOut of all the Bow clutches (Metallic Leather, Python, Satin, Leopard - see below), I love this Striped one best. I think it exudes that 60s Mod look, which will definitely make one stand out amongst a crowd of people carrying crystallized Miniaudieres and common satin clutches, etc. Also, it reminds me of Gwen Stefani's style. Here's how you can wear it as a wristlet if you don't wanna use it as a Clutch - a great way in which you can dance the night away and not be afraid of someone nicking your bag! Johnny: Momma, do you like tilapia?

hi guys, here some tips for cooking pancake
To make pancakes: Put a small amount of oil, cooking fat or butter into a pan. Heat until a faint blue haze is seen. It is a good idea to put the pancake mixture in a jug as this will make pouring easier. Pour enough mixture into the hot pan to make a thin layer. Cook quickly on one side until golden brown – lifting the edge with a small knife will help you see if it is ready. Toss or turn and cook on the second side.
To toss a pancake: When the pancake is cooked on the underside it can be tossed; however thin pancakes are often better turned. Hold the pan loosely in your hand, keeping your wrist very flexible and flick sharply upwards. With practice it will twist in the air and come down in the pan with the cooked side uppermost.
To turn a pancake: Once the pancake is cooked on the underside put a small knife under it and get the knife right to the centre of the pan. Lift carefully and flick over to turn.
For those of you who don't already know, I am presently enjoying a blissful week of well deserved vacation down on the NC Coast. There are 7 of us, which also includes 5 teenage girls, in a 2 bedroom cottage with one bathroom and the world's smallest kitchen. This of course means that we will be eating out a lot this week and I have decided to eliminate shaving, showering and trips to the bathroom from my daily schedule. And could someone please explain to me why it is that a woman can leave every personal article of clothing hanging from every 3 dimensional surface in the bathroom, but if I leave the toilet seat up, they'll be hell to pay!So that brings me to Yummy Coffee, my favorite daily beverage. It's not as good at the beach as it is back at my home in Cary. It might be the pre-purchased jug water from the local supermarket or maybe the generic paper towels that I have been using in place of real Coffee Filters! I kept forgetting that one item when I went to get groceries an

In 1994, Karen “Suedy” Sasaki saw an announcement in a magazine for a national cookie contest and wondered if she could come up with something to do with a cookie that had not been done before…
Then one day when she was pressing a sticky cookie mixture into a pan, it reminded her of pressing rice onto nori when she made sushi with her grandmother. That was it! A cookie-based sushi with chocolate and confections for the toppings and fillings.

Misty and Kola enjoyed their yellow meat watermelon treat this evening. I had read somewhere that horses like watermelon and in small amounts it's ok for them to eat. I had bought a yellow meat watermelon a couple of days ago not realizing what it was. I can't get past the yellow. So I decided to let the horses and goats give it a try. Horses love it. Goats don't. However, the goats do love the peppermint and butterscotch horse treats. Please visit http://midwesthorse.blogspot.com/index.html

I went and got my hair cut tonight (yay!! More about that later!) and stopped at Sam’s Club on my way home. I was supposed to stop there today with the kids, so we could pick up diapers and milk, but after we finished up at Wal-Mart and Babies ‘R Us, they were just DONE. Something about being dragged all over the shopping center in 96 degree heat makes my children cranky. So, I stopped on my way home from the salon, and shopped for awhile, BLISSFULLY ALONE! I browsed the books, took my time in the aisles, and I grabbed a rotisserie chicken for dinner. The kids actually ate it and loved it! I mean, I shouldn’t be surprised, because those things are *good*, but my kids can be picky sometimes. Nikki actually said, “I want more black chicken, mommy!” Ha!
Did you know there’s a whole business promoting display merchandisers for rotisserie chickens? I don’t know that I’d ever have a need to buy a commercial rotisserie, but it’s nice to kn

Designer of Bioshock, Ken Levine, plays host in this video that shows how Bioshock really will be a unique FPS. Showing you enter a room a few times, and how you can handle yourself and the enemies in different ways. Much nicer than just “should I use the machine gun or the pistol,” which does pretty much describe most FPS out there. Still can’t wait for this game, also my impatient ass still can’t wait for Microsoft’s E3 coverage.
Okay, so around the time of the 22nd of June our internet was of the not working variety.
After about 4 days they found out it was a server problem on their end and I got my internet back.
I had internet connection for one whole day before our computer suddenly started throwing us an evil nasty bad blue screen full of shit I don’t understand every time we tried to log onto the internet.
Hubby then took the computer to someone to see what was wrong with it.
As far as he could tell, nothing is wrong with it.
The husband is now in the process of changing things one at a time until it works again.
So, we have temporarily moved our old computer into the dining room so that it can be attached to the phone cord needed to get me on the Internets.
It’s slow, and the screen doesn’t work so well, and the mouse doesn’t work so well, but at least I can get online.
I have a few thousand e-mails to read, and as of right now I don’t even know whether I’m still ON Shitty Blog island, not to

I used this recipe for the cupcake part, but added a teaspoon of nutmeg. Then for the frosting I mixed up a block of cream cheese plus another partial one, a glob of shortening, the zest and juice of one lemon, some vanilla, and about 2 or 3 cups of powdered sugar. Yumness.

Yesterday my mother and I headed to one our favorite stores, Nordstrom’s. My goal was to find a pair of chocolate pumps, slingbacks or peep toe heels to match my new after 5 dress. Of course, as soon as we hit Nordstrom’s shoe department, sandals, pumps, flats, wedges and every other type of shoe you can think of caught our attention. We were greeted by a very nice looking male sales clerk who graciously presented me with 6 different pairs of shoes in size 11. A pair of chocolate scalloped peep-toe heels by Nina caught my attention. They were true to size. I strolled around for a couple of seconds and garnered a few admiring glances. I told my they felt great on my feet and they are perfect for my new dress. This past Monday my mom bought a pair patent leather peep-toe shoes by Enzo Angiolini. Although we have the same impeccable taste in clothes and shoes, we rarely buy the same shoes or clothes. In this case, I had to make an exception to the rule. If you’re 30 something heading
