December 13, 2007 the Des Moines Register and Iowa Public Television hosted the second day of presidential primary debates in Iowa. This time the Democrats faced off for Carolyn Washburn who moderated the debate. The debate was shown on the Fox News channel. The best part of this series of debates was that Fox News put the live dial group's opinions to what the candidates were saying in the upper right hand corner. Being able to see how the dial group was reacting to what the candidates were saying was very interesting. Mike Gravel again was not present but the newest candidate to be excluded was Dennis Kucinich. The reason Dennis was excluded was not because of his low poll numbers but because his Iowa field director works from his home and did not meet the requirements of a full-time paid staff in Iowa. Google has announced that it will distribute YouTube videos via the tens of thousands of websites that form its vast advertising network.The move is an attempt to monitise its $1.65bn (£811m) acquisition of YouTube as the videos will be supported by advertisements, generating revenues that Google will share with the website owners and creators of the videos.

As reported by the Google Earth Blog, there is now a new layer in Google Earth for geotagged YouTube videos.  In the Windows version of GE the videos appear right in the description bubbles; in the Mac and Linux versions you get a link to view the video in a browser. It works like most other layers - as you zoom further in, more videos appear.   To get your video to appear, simply allow embedding and map its location.  It should then appear in the next layer update, which occurs roughly once a month.

Mario Paint was a unique game for the Super Nintendo. Quite simply, it wasn’t a game - it was a paint program, animator and composer. For those of you who may not know, a “bug” in media terms, is a small garphic that sits in the lower right or left hand corner of a video.  You may have noticed that Comedy Central does this all the time for shows like “The Daily Show”.  It can be a way of branding a product as well as quick little advertisements for other shows (aka animated bugs).
