Dear Laurie & Paul -What a great night I had last night: 20 of my most favorite people on the island around for outstanding company, and mouthwatering kebobs, curries and chocolate cake! Thank you for being there and being a part of it. And many many thanks for this cool little light that now lights up the dark corners of the lower shelf of my kitchen closet so that I can actually see what's
Yesterday I had the {cough, cough} pleasure of taking my almost 15 year old son to the dentist. This son that chooses his clothing from the floor of his bedroom, lives on Doritos and energy drinks every Friday night during video games, refuses to brush his teeth on the weekends unless and until there is a girl involved, and has to be hounded to remember to wash his face. Sure enough he had 2 cav

The Working Group on Financial Markets, also know as the Plunge Protection Team, was created by Executive Order 12631, signed on March 18, 1988 by United States President Ronald Reagan to prevent a repeat of the Wall Street meltdown of October 1987. Its members include the Secretary of the Treasury, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, the Chairman of the SEC and the Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Recently, the team has been on high alert given the increased volatility of the markets and what Hank Paulson calls “the systemic risk posed by hedge funds and derivatives.”
These have all contributed to the markets’ erratic behavior and created the likelihood that the Plunge Protection Team may be stealthily intervening behind the scenes.
According to John Crudele of the New York Post, the Plunge Protection Team’s (PPT) modus operandi was revealed by a former member of the Federal Reserve Board, Robert Heller. Heller said that disasters cou
My coffee is in my Santa Claus Christmas mug this morning... just because it makes it taste so good. Isn't it interesting how coffee tastes different depending on what container it's in? Each morning I look up into the cupboard and make a very conscious choice of mug. This morning it's Santa.

Well, the Baltimore Orioles lost to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays by a score of 6-4 last night. Starting pitcher Steve Trachsel got hit hard last night, giving up six runs in the fourth inning. Before the fateful inning, Trachsel looked good and was able to get by with mixing up his pitches and throwing strikes. Trachsel was hurt by giving up walks in the fourth inning, and then Brendan Harris, Ty Wigginton, Delmon Young, Carlos Pena and Rocco Baldelli all drove in runs. Brian Burres entered the game to relieve Trachsel and stop the bleeding. The Orioles offense came Nick Markakis as he drove in Brian Roberts in the first inning, but a comeback was nearly mounted by the team as Jon Knott hit a monster 3-run homer to get the score to 6-4 in the eighth inning, but that’s all they would get. Devil Rays starter Casey Fossum would win the game, and reliever Al Reyes earns the save. With the loss, the Orioles win streak ends at 4 games. *** Baltimore Sun beat writer, Jeff Z
"Did you see the cellphone bill?""Yeah.""Did you see how many text messages you had?""Ummm Yeah.""Five thousand, three hundred and twenty four."(She smiles)"5,324 text messages. In like, what? Three and half weeks?""But it didn't cost any extra!""That isn't the point.""But... you're getting your money's worth. I get unlimited text messaging, remember?""Yes. I know. That ISNT THE POINT. FIVE THOUSAND TEXT'S. That's the point.""But... why is that bad?""Because that is just. not. acceptable. Over 5,000 text messages in less than a month?""Mom... I'm not trying to back talk... or be a smart mouth... really. But.... again, why is that a bad thing?"*Note*Apparently teens now-a-days don't actually "talk" on their cellphones. Well, rarely anyway. They have long conversations by 'texting' and when you are so dumb as to ask why they don't just call and TALK to their friend they look at you like you are crazy and tell you that it's 'faster' to text.
So hey I hope everyone who attended or watched online the UK Developer Launch of Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office system enjoyed it, me and 4 friends sure did enjoy being down there, shame my other friend who also really wanted to come couldn't though. He was really looking forward to it, but the day before, he had to go into hospital for treatment and well he emailed me that night to say that he had to go back the next day for more treatment, so as you can imagine he was pretty pissed off!
