Hey Penguins! In the regular CP Blog, Billybob said that there would be something new other that the St.Patricks Day Party. Well, there is now a 2005 - 2006 Yearbook! It starts right at the Beta Testing and ends at the 2006 Summer Party. I really like Reading it because I had no idea what went on in Club Penguin before I joined, which is almost a year ago! (two days until I'm 1 year old actually). You can find the Book Room upstairs from the Coffee Shop. Then, click on the bookshelf, click on the Yearbook, and start reading! There is also a 2006 - 2007 Yearbook for all us newer penguins. Also, I made a mistake with the CPIP party time. It's today, about 2 hours from when I posted this. The 2008 issue of Diving Almanac and Yearbook (D.A.Y.) and Diving Pioneers & Innovators: A Series of In-Depth Interviews are two great new diving books available to International Training members. “Diving Almanac and Yearbook is the definitive general reference books on diving, and I have had a copy on my desk since the inaugural issue in 2006,” said Steve Lewis. Lewis, director of product development for International Training explained that D.A.Y. has sections on diving history, world records, a who’s who of diving, statistics, listings of dive sites by country and much more an easy-to-read, illustrated 616-page format. “For anyone even remotely interested in knowing a little more about diving and the dive industry,” he said. “This is the best desktop reference I know
Either Seth Rogen has a time machine, or was a psychic in high school. Sure, he was in Freaks and Geeks back in the day and all that, but it’s almost as if he was prophetic about his future success and stardom. So, he laid the smack down on his teachers and on the useless schooling system in general in his yearbook writeup in his graduation year. In case you’re on an 80286 with a monochrome monitor and you can’t see the above picture, it says:
Of the seventeen some off years I’ve been alive, twelve of them have been spent doing schooling. That’s about 71% of my life dedicated to learning a bunch of stuff that I will probably never use. Ever since I started earning more than my own teachers, everything kind of fell into perspective. If you do what you want instead of what other people tell you to do, things will probably work out better, and if they don’t you’ll at least know that you tried. I am accepting of the fact that I may very wel
Aqui fica para escuta:Site | MySpace | Last.fm
Yes, I am going to tie those three subjects together. With this being a kind of down time in politics, I thought I would let some of my feelings about the Red Sox front office out. Let me first start by giving you the obligitory “I am a huge Red Sox fan, and have been all my life” disclaimer. I love almost all the changes they have made to the ballpark, with exception to Conigliaro’s Corner, it just doesn’t seem to look right out there. They have put a very competitive product on the field every year, and of course finally won the world series in 2004.
It is after this world series win where the politics of the Red Sox front office first came into play. I don’t know how well known this is outside of New England, the chairman of the Red Sox is Tom Werner, who is a television producer and had a little fling with Katie Couric. The Red Sox ownership group also owns part of the Boston Globe and New York Times, two liberal papers. It is rumored that some Bosto
Studio - No ComplyStudio is a Swedish duo of Dann Lissvik and Rasmus Hägg. Their music is a combination of many styles including ambient, pop and electronic. Studio's debut album Yearbook I is out now on Information Records.
A photograph of an East Side High School student kissing his boyfriend was blacked out of every copy of the school's yearbook by Newark school officials who decided it was inappropriate.Andre Jackson said he never thought he would offend anyone when he bought a page in the yearbook and filled it with several photographs, including one of him kissing his boyfriend. But Newark Superintendent of Schools Marion Bolden called the photograph "illicit" and ordered it blacked out of the $85 yearbook before it was distributed to students at a banquet for graduating seniors Thursday."It looked provocative," she said. "If it was either heterosexual or gay, it should have been blacked out. It's how they posed for the picture."This from NJ.com.
During the last days of school, my classmates and I passed around our yearbooks and took our turns signing them. Later, locked up in my room I read the inscriptions. Each was individual in their writing style and handwriting. I remember the Sylvia Plath style narrative a friend wrote on the entire back cover. It was without clichés like “embarking on a new future.” Rather, it was dark and more of a cautionary tale about life. How did this teenager know so much about life and the real world beyond the doors of our high school? I remember how tickled I was to see written, “You’re a beautiful and talented woman,” from one of the jocks who had spent most of high school teasing me about my nerdiness. Others signed with catch phrases that were popular then.I’ve since thrown out my yearbook. Not to mention the horrible yearbook pictures of me, some of the inscriptions were too embarrassing reread. When I tossed out my yearbook, there was a lot I wanted to forget. Some of the insc
Pictures show students drinking, smoking marijuanaMost likely to succeed?Try most likely to go to jail. The yearbook for the high school in this mountain town near Denver published photos of students smoking marijuana and drinking beer, drawing the ire of parents and administrators.Hannah Fredrickson, the senior who served as yearbook editor, said she regrets not balancing the yearbook pictures of teenagers smoking pot with pictures of non-drug users. She also said she is sorry about not warning her principal. But she said people need to know what is going on.“The point of the yearbook entirely is to cover what happens in the year,” she told KCNC TV (Video). “You’d be surprised at how many children at Conifer High School smoke pot. I wanted to push more for a deeper side of Conifer, which, for a lot of students, is drugs and alcohol...”...Students were shown holding a bong and exhaling smoke in a section labeled “Health — addicted addictions.” Three female students — a
Photo Credit: Style.comAS THE 21ST CENTURY advances, the fashion world travels in the same fast lane as the cosmos of technology. It seems as though trends are discarded just as fast as nifty cell phones. This year, trends saw a combination of intelligence and disposability. Many of the looks we saw this year became a template to forecast what we can see in 2007, while other trends went out of style as soon as they became in vogue. From the reincarnation of a signature Audrey Hepburn look to the fashionably maneuverable men's blazer, this year's stylish scope was a set up for what we can expect in 2007.The skinny on jeansIt's unanimous — the No. 1 trend for women this year was skinny jeans. After being in hibernation for decades, the tapered garments gained popularity with sartorial savvy."We saw skinny pants fly off our shelves," says Erica Archambault, spokesperson from the San Francisco-based retail giant, Gap. "Women took a very popular look from the 80s and updated it with fres
