Yahoo India Maps has been developed in Yahoo's Bangalore labs and is quite decent product at least for bigger cities with features like getting directions, and showing directions in the various regional languages and to me it is a definitely better product than Google 's India maps. I don't know when they launched the service because it did not create a lot of buzz on the internet. I just found out via an ad-space on the Yahoo home page. But what matters is that it's very cool, it lacks the ability to add user marked businesses just yet and the directions feature isn't available for any location at all. But these features are barely available for Mumbai in Google Maps. They say that they will add these bells & whistles. But you can only be flattered about the accuracy it shows at least for Mumbai. You can find businesses like ATMs, Banks, Restaurants, Hospitals, Hotels, on shopping, movie halls etc with ease. But finding bars wasn't possible because they don't have many listed. I couldn't find any of the hundreds of bars I know in my vicinity!! Yahoo Inc.'s problems with Indian bloggers over unauthorized reproduction of their content on its Indian portals may be just beginning.Bloggers claim they have identified more instances of their content being reproduced without permission on Yahoo's Indian portals. Yahoo's Indian subsidiary has yet to come up with an appropriate response that satisfies the bloggers.After bloggers complained about Yahoo India's unauthorized publication of recipes from a blogger called Su, the subsidiary apologized on Thursday.
