Sure, as if the world needs another Wyatt...Ah, but we do. Congratulations to Brian and Sarah Wyatt. Brian is pastor of Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church in Greeneville. Sarah and I serve on the presbytery youth committee. They have a new Baby Wyatt, Wallace Austin. For those keeping score, Wallace weighs in at 7 lbs. 7 oz. and is 19 inches long. Our presbytery weekly update reports that "Wallace is their first child and everyone is home, healthy, and happy!"Yeah, happy now, until that kid starts asking for the car keys...

Wyatt was "willing" to pay oil surcharge, witness says|A former Iraqi oil company official, testifying in Oscar Wyatt's fraud and conspiracy trial, said he was in a meeting where the Houston oilman was haggling over how much of a surcharge he would pay to buy Iraqi crude. Wyatt, 83, is accused of funneling millions of dollars in illegal surcharges or kickbacks to Saddam Hussein's regime under the United Nations' oil-for-food program. Charged with fraud, conspiracy and violating U.S. sanctions, Wyatt could be sentenced to 74 years in prison if convicted on all counts. Wyatt contends all his dealings with the Iraqis were lawful. Mubdir Al-Khudhair, a former manager with Iraq's State Oil Marketing Organization, is the first witness since the trial started early this month whose testimony has tied Wyatt to surcharges. Al-Khudhair told the jury he was in a meeting in January 2001 where Wyatt was negotiating the purchase of some Iraqi crude and expressed "his willingness to pay the surc
Investment consultant Watson Wyatt has made two hires to boost its research into real estate investment managers and hedge fund managers, and added five new graduates to its manager research team. Douglas Crawshaw, who has more than 10 years' investment experience, most recently as a portfolio manager at Morley Fund Management, will join a real estate team of six in the UK, headed by Steven Grahame, which focuses on researching real estate investment managers. Crawshaw is a senior investment consultant and is based in London.
