Kenneth T. Walsh in “U.S. News”:
In the 1960s and ’70s, Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon misled the country over the progress of the Vietnam War, in the process deepening public suspicion of politicians in general.
That’s not true. President Nixon leveled with the American people about Vietnam, telling them bluntly what was at stake for our [...]

The initial report of 'Parugu' that has come out is with mixed appeal. Courtesy:greatandhra

Although he didn't become widely known until the 1970s, Dr. John had been active in the music industry since the late '50s, when the teenager was still known as Mac Rebennack. A formidable boogie and blues pianist with a lovable growl of a voice, his most enduring achievements have fused New Orleans R&B, rock, and Mardi Gras craziness to come up with his own brand of "voodoo" music. He's also quite accomplished and enjoyable when sticking to purely traditional forms of blues and R&B. On record, he veers between the two approaches, making for an inconsistent and frequently frustrating legacy that often makes the listener feel as if the "Night Tripper" (as he's nicknamed himself) has been underachieving. In the late '50s, Rebennack gained prominence in the New Orleans R&B scene as a session keyboardist and guitarist, contributing to records by Professor Longhair, Frankie Ford, and Joe Tex. He also did some overlooked singles of his own, and by the 1960s had expanded into production
The discussion went smoothly. A wife looking for insurance to replace a term policy on her husband that was coming to the end of the guarantee. Good health. A little family history hiccup, but not a big deal. Then I asked about foreign travel and she said, well, yes he does travel. After a little beating around the bush it seems that her husband had become a little bored with retirement and had decided to do contract work….. kind of where ever he might be needed. He was currently in Iraq for 12 months. Wrong time to review his insurance portfolio!!
To all of you husbands/wives who have a husband or wife who is considering changing careers or taking up hobbies, review life insurance while it is still in the considering stage. Once plans are in place and commitments have been made, whatever is coming down the road will impact your life insurance.
A few examples might help clarify this. Let’s say I’ve always thought it would be kind of fun to take up skydiving, but I&rs
This situation is well known to all of us, being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This poor fella was brought onto bbc news 24 to discuss the legal proceedings between Apple computer and Apple music label, turns out he is a business graduate from the Congo, awaiting a job interview, but had turned up to the wrong reception, and had been mistaken by the receptionist for the wrong man when the call came.I loooove his reaction when she announces who she thinks he is, has such replay value. He actually makes quite a good job at pretending to know what hes doing.
My day off this week, following the grueling time I put in on the assembly line, had me wanting to treat myself to something nice. A meal that fits the bill every time: a BLT and a glass or two of Rose’. Although this time I made it a BBT–bacon, basil leaves, and tomato. The wine was a 2005 Clos LaChance Rose’ that I picked up on my wine trip last week. The Pink-Throated Brilliant, as they call it, has a picture of that endangered hummingbird from South America on the label. It’s part of The Hummingbird Series, a less expensive line with each wine named after a different species. This particular one is made from Syrah and Grenache, and I found it crisp and full of strawberries and perfect with my tasty sandwich.
