      Wrapping Up the Rest
Phillies 4, Cardinals 2: Mark Mulder, homesick for his spot on the DL, scurried back there with pain in his shoulder after just 16 pitches. The lefty has appeared in six games over the past two years, although it's still more action than Carl Pavano and Mike Hampton have seen combined. Those were hands down, no doubt about it, great signings. Ryan Howard, faced with hitting his 25th home run or

      Wrapping Up the Rest
A's 2, Mariners 0: It seems like every time Oakland gives up a quality pitcher, they have another one waiting in the wings. With Harden gone, the de facto ace is now Justin Duchscherer, who threw a complete game shutout to improve to 10-5 and lower his ERA to 1.78. Say what you want about Billy Beane's frugality, but the man is King Midas when it comes to pitching. He could make Mariah Carey in

Dodgers 3, Braves 0: Hideki Kuroda took a perfect game into the 8th before Mark Texeira broke it up with a lead-off double, Atlanta's only hit of the game. The pitcher signed as a free agent with the Dodgers last year after eleven years in Japan. Kuroda's five wins this year are more than double what Kei Igawa has in his career.A's 4, Mariners 3: Richie Sexson hit a home run. In related news, t

Mets 4, Phillies 2: The Phils were willing to build an ark and start gathering animals in order to face Billy Wagner, so a three-hour rain delay was no big deal. When the game was finally restarted, Jayson Werth took Wagner deep to tie it at 2-all. Apparently the Mets are getting used to this though, as Fernando Tatis' homer in the twelfth provided the winning margin.Brewers 11, Pirates 6: JJ Ha

      Wrapping Up Goa
During the last few days of our week-long vacation in Goa, we ventured out for some sight-seeing and shopping. The capital city, Panjim (or Panaji) is almost an hour's drive from the hotel. Like always, I enjoyed the drive through green country-sides and fishing villages, along the sea and winding rivers. We watched brightly colored houses go past, many of which still have a distinct Mediterranean

Chapati / RotiWrapping it up...fresh,healthy & fun! Here's what I did with part of the Turkish Adana Kebabs I made a few days ago. I made Indian unleavened flatbreads, chapati or roti, & made wraps using the kebabs as the filling, with bell peppers, onions, a Yogurt dip & a new discovery...Pomegranate Molasses. Served it with a Mexican corn salad on the side. I find unleavened flatbreads very healthy & versatile. They are made out of whole wheat flour dough only, which just has to be kneaded (as the Daring Bakers tag line comes to mind...We need to knead), no question of leavening agents, prior preparation etc, & above all, no preservatives .

Some of the most anticipated shows of Noise Pop are happening this weekend, including British Sea Power, The Mountain Goats, Vampire Weekend, Cursive, Gutter Twins, Holy Fuck, Tilly and the Wall and She & Him - all of which are sold out and nearly impossible to find tickets for (check Craigslist - there are plenty of RE: Wanted ticket pleas, hardly any for sale though). In fact tickets for shows that originally sold for $15-$30 are now selling (where you can find them) for $75 and up. Word Wrapping Email Text for Webmail Applications
Email comes in all shapes and sizes, from complicated nested multi-part structures to simple text bodies. But even messages comprised of just plain text require special preparation to safely and properly display from within a webmail application. For security purposes any HTML within a text message needs to be converted to appropriate entities. Using the CSS "white-space: pre;" setting is effective as well, the CSS equivalent of tags, but this makes word wrapping the message in such a way as to ensure that the webmail interface remains consistent very tricky. Neither approach is ideal (entities vs pre-formatted), and both suffer from some similar display problems. For example a line containing 200 characters in a row with no spaces, such as a long URL will either spill out from it's conta

I'm going to cover the next few ESPN HoF "debates" in one post, since I have less to say about each of them. Michael Knisley and John Shea tackled Andrew Dawson's candidacy; here's how Shea justified his decision to vote for "The Hawk":For me, the most important ingredient when voting is this: When you saw him play, did you think he was a Hall of Famer or not? Cooperstown has the best Hall of Fame in sports because it's the toughest to get into, because not every borderline candidate is inducted. It could be argued that it's great not for who is in, but for who is not in.In the case of Dawson, I always thought he was usually better than everyone else on the field, a guy who could take over a game, and dominate an era. Plus, what an intimidating fellow. I covered the Padres in '87, Dawson's

      Wrapping new books before reading
I have the habit of wrapping my new books before reading them. This is to protect my books from creases and spine damage. I love my books and I want to take good care of them! Since I was a kid, I’ve already mastered wrapping books without using any adhesive tapes. They look great in their plastic ‘jackets’. Here is how I wrap them: First, cut the plastic wrapper with at least 1.5 inch above and below the edge of the books, no need to cut the other side, but if it is longer than the width of the book, then you got to get rid of a few inches. Then near the two ends of the book, cut the plastic all the way to touch the book: Fold the plastics inward so that it can go behind the spines. Here is the completed one: It is really proven to reduce creases on cover and spines, as well as prevent dog ears. It also protects your books from water and stains on the cover. My books are all look like new ones, except those that I read in a plane - somewhat the humidity

Wrapping Up The Year And Making Resolutions For 2008
Photography by: Bob Jagendorf. I created this blog earlier this year with no prior knowledge, never even expecting it to get as far as it already has - and Super Blogging is still growing, and I am still learning! Things weren’t easy in the beginning, but quitters never win and winners never quit. I also never really set any true goals for what I’d like to accomplish with this blog, but with 2008 ahead that is going to change. I think goals are very important in helping you reach for and work for what you want to do, as long as you make them realistic and define them clearly. This year I have learned a lot, from starting this blog on a free Blogger.com domain service up until this very minute where Super Blogging is a self-hosted Wordpress site (thanks to the help of an extremely kind person) - and like I said above, I am still learning! I have accomplished dozens of things with this blog, but there are tons of other resolutions I’d like to make and live up to. Over

      Stress Free Wrapping
As Christmas morning nears, (my kids count down daily - I am informed practically on the hour) cookies, candies, bars, and the like are being baked; the house is getting a good cleaning; and the presents are all wrapped under the tree presents are all hidden throughout various parts of our house, awaiting the frenzy of discovery on Christmas morning. We don't wrap our Christmas morning presents, no-sir-ree. Years ago, I made giant stockings (about 3-1/2 feet tall)for everyone in our family. We have a lovely tradition that on Christmas eve, we each get to open our one or two wrapped presents, and the rest go unwrapped into or under our stockings for Christmas morning. The kids love not having to unwrap 10 gazillion things and mom loves: 1) not having to wrap said presents; and 2) not having to stuff three Hefty garbage sacks full of wrapping paper. It truly makes for a Merry Christmas for all involved. So that is what works for our family...what works for yours? See more WFMW tips at Ro

      Wrapping gifts
Each year, it is the same thing! I’m hiding in the bedroom on Christmas Eve trying to quickly wrap all the gifts without making too much noise. Well, this year is different. While cases of autoerotic asphyxiation involving accidental death arising from the use of various breath-stopping techniques for sexual gratification have long been reported in the research literature, a recent case reported in the July 2007 issue of the Journal of Forensic Sciences takes things somewhat further.  The authors report on the case of a 34-year old man who apparently died of asphyxiating from wearing an extremely complex plastic full-body wrap.  The authors conclude that it is the "the largest and most complex plastic bag ever involved in a published case of autoerotic death".  Click here for the link.

Beyonce Loves Wrapping Her Feet In Cashmere By Dremu
I hope you’re having a great weekend. Occasionally, on the weekends, I surf the net to find anything and everything that has to do with shoe deals, fashion beauty and new products that will smooth out my dry skin. I’m always interested in products that other people trust and recommend. I came across a site called Dremu that was featured on Oprah and in Vogue Magazine. The Cashmere lotion piqued my interested, since I have extremely dry skin. Sometimes, you like to pamper yourself with a luxurious product instead of using a jar of Vaseline. The Cashmere hand and body lotion is Beyonce’s favorite product from Dremu. The Cashmere hand and body lotion contains emu oil that will keep even the driest skin hydrated, soft and supple. It also contains Ylang-Ylang essential oils. Since it's sandal season, keeping your feet nice and smooth is a must. Wrapping Up The Pacific Northwest Series
Hello, friends. Hopefully by now you've figured out most of your I-Phone needs, had a nice little weekend hitting Bed Bath and Beyond with the missus, and are ready for another work week to absolutely crush your soul and very essential being.Well, before all that happens, I 'spose we should wrap up our Pacific Northwest series. We're going to do it rather succinctly, bringing up two recent developments in the broader Pac NW sports world that have pissed us off. To wit:- The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, which is normally a paper we respect, recently referred to Jeff Green, the new Sonics forward via Georgetown, as "the other guy" in relation to Kevin Durant. Listen, no doubt Jeff Green wasn't consensus National Player of the Year as a frosh (he actually took until his junior year to truly blossom), but the guy was a central force in the Hoya renaissance that transpired this past year. Gift Wrapping Basics
For those of you who have gotten an early start on those holiday gifts, it's time to start thinking about how you're going to present them. I like to choose a new theme every year - last year was based on rich purples, silver and aqua for a more contemporary look. This year I'm going to build my gift wardrobe around olive green, gold and orange. Before you get to deep into aesthetics, though, allow me to offer a quick primer on gift wrapping.- Select a pattern that is proportional to the gift itself, allowing you to showcase the entire pattern. Smaller patterns outfit small boxes, and vice versa.- Fold your seams. Fold the edges of your wrapping under so that you don't see crooked cut lines or the underside of your gift wrap on your package. This ensures a more finished look.- Double-sided tape is your friend. It looks clean and professional, as you can't see fat pieces of tape scattered around your gift wrap.- Coordinate the width of your ribbon with the size of your package

Use something different as paper. Instead, use a piece of sheet music, a map, a handkerchief or the Sunday comics, matching the wrap with the theme of the present.12. Use something different for ribbon. Instead use new shoelaces, raffia, bias tape, plastic laces, jute twine or Christmas garland. Cut strips of wrapping paper and sculpt them into a coordinating bow.11. Make unusual gift tags. Use a key ring and write on the circular paper tag, mount a white paper snowflake on a piece of red cardstock, write on the back of a small black-and-white photograph, write on a piece of felt with puffy paint, use a baseball card or cut a tag out of a greeting-card.
