In the meanwhile a story appeared on Andrew Jefford's Blog where serious doubts were raised regarding the real age of the bottle.The following story, published in the Ileach, sheds some light on this "Ghost Bottle Affair" although a final conclusion cannot be made: Iain Russell, the archivist at the Scottish Brewing Archive based at Glasgow University is one of those who have pointed out anomalies that would date the bottle in the 1890's rather than the 1851 date claimed at the auction. Speedendurance.com kept track of Matt’s 8 week training log leading up to a 30 minute attempt of pull-ups on October 27, 2007. This is rare, as most people attempting these type of events keep their training logs secret.
A week before the event, he set a new WR for a 60 second attempt.
The current record for 30 minutes is 442, so to break 450 requires a cadence of 150 every 10 minutes.
At the attempt, Matt was on pace with nearly 300 pull-ups at the 20 minute mark.
But in these type of events, grip is everything, and by that point Matt’s hands started to bleed as his callouses tore off. It’s hard to grip if your hands are full of blood!
Matt’s did manage to accomplish approximately 120 pull-ups in the the last ten minutes, but not the 142+ he needed to break the record.
The unofficial total was 417 pull-ups, about 25 short of the world record.
Sure, Matt is disappointed, and so was the huge crowd at Fitness Together in Livermore, California.

Michael Johnson should have demolished the 400 WR in Zurich after his 19.32 200m in Atlanta, 1996.
Unfortunately he hurt his hamstring with that 100% all out effort, so we had to wait 3 years for this to happen. Everyone expected he would break the record; it was just a matter of “when”.
Unlike Butch Reynold’s 43.29 at Zurich 1988, a straight final invitational meet, Johnson went through the usual rounds with ease. In the semi-final, he literally jogs the last 100 meters and still runs 43.95. So you knew the record was going down, but would he break 43?
And yes, he was wearing his golden spikes, the ones he made famous in Atlanta 1996.

Matt Bogdanowicz will be attempting a 30 minute pull-ups World Record attempt on October 27.
With the big event one week away, how does Matt prepare for such an event?
By participating in a 60 second WR attempt of maximum pull-ups!
The result? 46. The previous World Record was 44. The paperwork and videos for verification and ratification have been submitted.
In the event, two cameras were used at the same time. One focused solely on the chin, as it only has to clear the bar by a millimeter if necessary.
This is similar to a pole vauler or high jumper who brushes the bar without knocking it down. Or a high hurdler barely clearing the hurdles. There are no extra points by clearing it higher; efficiency is the key with no wasted motion.

Six sixes in one over in Twenty20 (Twenty Twenty, T20) Cricket? Oh! World record!!! It was an amazing over; all the balls went over the rope like rockets. The Start was Yuvraj Singh from India, and the poor bowler was Stuart Broad (England). This happened on 2007-09-19, in Twenty20 world up match. Yuvraj did this in the 19th over. Unsurprisingly, he scored 50 runs in 12 deliveries, creating another world record. And think for a minute? He scored 50 with 3x4 and 6x6, which adds upto 48 runs in 9 balls. This world record will not be broken for a longer time and will stay than any other record?With this six sixes, Yuvraj joined the club of Six Sixers as the 4th person. Before him; West Indies great Sir Garfield Sobers and India's Ravi Shastri joined there while Herschelle Gibbs joined this club this year in March. Well done Yuvraj.
