What should you eat prior to exercise?
Carbohydrate is the preferred source of fuel for our bodies, as it is easily digested, so try to make sure that your pre-workout meal, or snack, includes plenty. However, this doesn’t mean that we should avoid protein and fat, just take care not to eat too much, especially if you’re planning to exercise within the next 1-2 hours.
When should you eat?
* If you’re having a larger meal, eat 4-6 hours prior to exercise.
* If you’re having a smaller meal, eat 2-3 hours before exercising.
* If you’re having a small snack, depending on the content, eat around 1/2-1 hour before exercise.

Exercise 1: Kitchen squats
While holding on to the lip of a counter, stand with feet shoulder-width apart and dip down into a basic squat. (The cabinets beneath the countertop will prevent knees from moving forward.) Do two sets of 12 to 20 reps.
Exercise 2: Calf raises in the shower
For tones calves, raise both heels together off the shower floor. Repeat for two sets of 12 to 20 reps.
Exercise 3: TV-time thigh toning
While watching TV, put a pillow between the knees and squeeze thighs together. Hold for a beat, then release. Repeat throughout a half-hour show.

Having a glass of beer is a better option than drinking water after exercising, says a Granada University study. The study led by Professor Manuel Garzon, of Granada's medical faculty, made the discovery after conducting tests on 25 students over several months. In the study the participants were asked to run on a treadmill under stifling temperatures of 40C, until they were close to exhaustion. Researchers measured their hydration levels, concentration ability and motor skills, after the students were on the point of giving up their physical exercise. Warning to those that don't know...this is not a workout for people who are just starting out! This workout will break you down physically and mentally and most will definately feel it the next day.
