The air inside is hotter than the air outside.
Metal fans whirl lazily, and all the windows are shut. The room is dark, cave-like. A blackboard with two or three specials hangs on one wall, and the counter girls are all wearing very, very short skirts and knee socks.
They are nearly indistinguishable, one emo haircut blending [...]
Well I haven’t posted in like a week so I thought I would post whats going on. I have been relatively busy lately going to the gym and last week was a wonky week since Tuesday was a holiday.
Just a little update for working out: I have gained about 10 pounds since I’ve been hitting [...]
Megan and I have moved a lot over the past eight years — seven times by my count. It’s like one of us is in the military or wanted by the authorities (or both á la The A-Team!) and we have to keep stealing away in the midnight hours. I have to seriously wonder if all [...]
It’s no secret that we’re Robeez lovers around here. We’ve reviewed their apparel & basic shoes, tredz and tredz sandals, and we’re back again with the launch of the newest Robeez line - the Weekend Collection.
Similar to the classic Robeez style, the weekend collection are available in nine classic colours with sporty elastic detailing. [...]
This evening I attended a training session for potential Police Youth Support People at the local PCYC. Basically I’ll be on call if a young or ‘vulnerable’ person is arrested, and their parent or guardian isn’t available to sit in on their police interview, to make sure that the police are following the correct procedures, [...]
Bogart H. Devil… Quality Control Manager

Work It, Mom! is having a contest asking people to write posts explaining how they worked it at the conference. The categories are most creative, most impressive, funniest, and most creative without having gone to BlogHer.This was too much fun to pass by. So, I'd like to present how I worked it in the most impressive way at BlogHer, in photoessay form.At BlogHer, I met all of these people (and more):I also collected all of this schwag (and more):(cat not included)And I did all of this while having her with me the entire time:Not to mention stopping frequently for this.I'd say that's pretty impressive, wouldn't you?
So I stroll out of my air conditioned classroom and go down stairs to meet the next class and think " hey....photo-op!!" and they were thinking?? well look at the pick.Personally I imagine they were saying "Damn!!!....my teacher is a ____ing moron!!" or maybe " Hey genius...it's 97 degrees...think we might get a bit of that air-con?? Ya think??"Of course they put up with my dumb request and had a great class.
Just thought to drop you guys a note - we haven’t disappeared, I’ve been doing some work in Sydney and haven’t had access to the programs I need to resize all our great food pics, but we’ll put some more reviews up soon!
In the meantime if you want some more tummy-candy, check out some of [...]
I read many blogs in the course of a day (I love the celeb trash ones, but let's face it.. do we really care if Britney Spears ever makes a comeback??), but the ones I enjoy most are the ones I can relate to as a working mom... thoughts on how to get through the day, tips, and discussions that ignite a spark on issues that intrigue me.One of my favorites is Work It: A Blog for Working Moms. A great hodgepodge of Mom-centric topics that will entertain you or get you thinking. A great site you should not miss.Another fave is Working Moms Against Guilt... could there be a better title than that? I especially love their "Finds" and their humor... always great with a cup of coffee when I'm taking a break from the work day.Lastly, check out BlueSuitMom.com for ideas on how to deal with a boss who doesn't appreciate the finer points of work/life balance or just for some tips on streamlining your day.Thank goodness for all the resources like these which are so accessible in our technology-d
Britney may not be laying low but we can't blame her for wanting to show off her slimmer shape.Apparently she's "working out, eating right and enjoying life." She's sweating up a storm at the dance studio and the owner is praising her for her fast metabolism and saying how easily she can transform herself when she tries. She supposedly used to do 1,000 sit ups a day to get that insane stomach of hers. Wonder if that is back in her routine. Now if only we could get her a stylist.
Tools and more that help me keep in shape!
You know I love my S Factor. It is re shaping my body and my attitude. I recommend everyone try it. If you live near a studio they have intro classes that cost $40. The actual class is pretty darn pricey but its so worth it. $440 per session, which lasts 8 weeks (2 hour class one day a week). I shell out the cash without blinking an eye because it makes me happy. I wish I had more time to take more than one class a week, but I don't - so I put up a pole in my apartment and own the DVDs.
Favorite songs to S to (mind you some of them I would never listen to on a regular basis, but they are darn fun to dance to)
Marilyn Manson "I Put a Spell on You" and "tainted love"Hole "Violet", T.I " What You Know"-dirty old Fergie "London Bridge"Rob Zombie "Living Dead Girl"Bjork "Hunter"
Do I have any other S gals out there? Let me know if you have ever tried it and what you think.See more of my Workin' on My Fitness list at ThisNext.
