It seems like someone is playing with my WordPress plugins lately.
When I woke up this morning, I was surprised to see that the settings of the plugin Related Posts was changed. The items that it was supposed to show was set to one - before it was three. The tag before the related posts were touched too and the show excerpt option was set to true which was set to false before.

I just created my second Wordpress plugin, which is conceptually based on the previous one, Categories Autolink.
Tags Autolink automatically turns every tag name, when used in posts and pages, into a link to the same tag archive.
For example, if you write an article about the history of Rome and you tag it with «Rome», «history» and «Julius Ceasar», each of the previous words, if used in the article, are automatically turned in links (respectively, to http://myblog.com/tag/Rome, http://myblog.com/tag/history and http://myblog.com/tag/Julius-Ceasar).
But that's not all: if in another article you used other tag names, for example «Brutus», also that word will be turned in link, and everywhere you used it.
I think this plugin will be very useful under the SEO (search engine optimization) point of view, for it will dramatically increase the number of internal links, creating a very thick web.

Oggi voglio segnalarvi un plugin semplicissimo, ma utile allo stesso tempo. Si chiama Dash-Note, è nuovo plugin per la piattaforma Wordpress che aggiunge alla Dashboard (pagina iniziale del pannello admin) un comodo post-it.

This Wordpress plugin remove the “nofollow” attribute from your wordpress blog’s comments (precisely from the author’s links) and/or from the comments text links and it inserts (if you want) an image band at the top of your pages with the phrase: “NOFOLLOW FREE” to encourage your users to submit comments.
The last release includes new options to replace the nofollow only when the author posted X comments before and put back the nofollow when some blacklisted words are matched. The replacement of the nofollow is also based on the users type (registered and visitor users). Every option can be customized by the options page “NOFF“.
Requirements:
WordPress 2.x or later (I think it works in 1.5 too but I didn’t test it).
Installation:
- Download the plugin nofollow-free
- uncompress it with your prefered unzip/untar program or use the command line: tar xzvf nofollow-free.tar.gz
- copy the entire directory noff in your plugins directory at your wordpress blog (/wp-content
As an update to my previous post, I have managed to download Multiple Blogs Wordpress Plugin, upload it to my server and activate the plugin.
The installation process is very simple, you upload the Multiple Blogs plugin folder to your Wordpress plugin folder, activate it and you are ready to use it. You will see an additional option called “Multiple Blogs” on the main task bar on top of the Wordpress Panel. I have added a few blogs to this new plugin, I am very impressed with the result, at one central place, I can edit new post, I can see the latest post of the various blog and I can manage the category. However, it will be great if I can allow me to edit my page and my blogrolls.
There is also an additional plugin that you install to allow you edit your comments remotely on the “Multiple Blogs” interface, which works very well for me as I do not need to login to individual blog for reviewing my comments.

This Ajah Wordpress plugin caps the number of comments shown on any post to 50, which makes the post load much more faster, especially if the number of comments comes close to 1000. If you haven’t already noticed there is a new edition to the sidebar on my blog. The wordpress plugin is called WP-backlinks. This plugin helps you get reciprocal backlinks to your blog. As I’ve mentioned before reciprocal link backs are a great way to help your SEO for your site or blog.
The plugin installation is so quick and easy it takes about 2 minutes! Once installed it shows a widget on your blog sidebar which webmasters can submit a link request. The script then checks to make sure the URL entered contains a link to your site and if it does adds the link to your site.
WP-Backlinks doesn’t show the same link on each page so if you have 100 pages @ 4 links per page thats a possible 400 link backs!
As mentioned in yesterdays post with the page rank update happening soon this could be a really could plugin to start using!

This WordPress plug-in was created to modify and create links in posts. Right now it does two things; adds affiliate information to existing links. The affiliate information is added after the links are created, so those are modified too.
When adding affiliate information, you need to know the HTML(link) query to add to links. Most sites give you things like affil=username to append to the URL that tells them who referred the visitor.
You can also convert certain keywords like “Yahoo!” to Yahoo!. Currently they keyword search is case sensitive, and you have to prepend http:// to the links.

You’ve probably seen this in a couple of blogs. Its a way for readers to make a donation to you (the blogger!) via PayPal. It can be placed on your sidebar or at the end of every post. Well, I mean, if you put out some really great content, no harm asking for a drink… I’m sure we have plenty of generous readers out there!
When your readers click on that button, they are taken to a secure PayPal page where they can make a donation to you. So what’s with the ‘Buy Me a Beer’ or etc thingy? Stats show that by giving people a specific reason to donate, donations increase by 200%!
So I’ve added one on my blog as well. To set the record straight, I don’t really particularly like beer, so all I’m asking for is a drink (maybe Apple Juice, its my favourite!), anyway alcohol is exorbitantly expensive here in Singapore.
