My absolute favorite candy from this year’s All Candy Expo has to be the new Wonka Tinglerz, malted pieces of crisped rice covered in Nestle’s milk chocolate and pumped with a carbon dioxide blast to give them some serious popping power. Tinglerz won’t be hitting stores until September, but I was lucky enough [...]

Nestle/Wonka doesn’t have a lot on the way for us in 2008, but what they do have packs a punch:
Wonka Giant Chewy Nerds - we reviewed Giant Chewy Nerds already and they are fan-freakin-tastic. In stores now for $0.69-$0.89.
Wonka Tinglerz - Remember Nestle Buncha Crunch? They were small, bite-sized pieces (globs) of Nestle chocolate [...]

Candy is serious business. Well maybe not exactly, but it’s generally thought to be a bad idea to muck with things that people are personally invested in. No matter what it is, someone out there loves it and they’re going to be angry when it changes.
Case in point: Willy Wonka substituted cherry and lime [...]
I had high hopes for these. Willy Wonka has shown that they know how to do sour well. Though the SOUR! proclamation does make me hesitate a bit. Rarely do sours live up to the all-caps, exclamation point kind of hype. I do admit I have a soft spot for Nerds and the idea of tasty sours in tiny little balls of...whatever they are, is appealing.
Now I have to admit a bias. I think citrus

Prudence Emma Staite is putting her art school degree to good use. She gathers a lot of attention and affection for her work by sculpting in her favorite medium: chocolate!
Staite had played around with many other food mediums for her art, but chocolate quickly became her favorite. She feels like Willy Wonka (an innovative artist himself) as people’s faces light up when they see her chocolate creations. Knowing that she’s behind such vivid memories in people, whether they are viewing or eating her work, is what this artist lives for. What a sweet woman!

Someone decided to make a movie trailer for a scary movie version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and they posted the results on YouTube. You can see the results above. That boat scene always did give me the creeps.
http://www.firstflavor.comMany dismissed the flavored wallpaper scene in Willy Wonka& the Chocolate Factory as childhood fantasy, but for Adnan Aziz, it was a revolutionary idea with real-life potential. In January 2005, he partnered with seasoned entrepreneurs Jay Minkoff, 48, and Josh Kopelman, 35, to launch First Flavor in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. Together, they refined the idea of edible strips that allow consumers to sample a product's flavor before buying. These tasty marketing tools are deliverable via methods like in-store coupon dispensers and direct mailings.Using tried-and-true tactics, namely product research and consumer focus groups, the partners brought the innovative strips to market just this quarter. Companies specializing in everything from candies to alcoholic beverages want a piece of the action, and 2007 sales are projected to hit between $3 million and $5 million. Says Aziz, 24, "I had a dream; now I'm getting a chance to give it to the world."
