This week's Wizard Rock song is brought to you by a group I just discovered called Potter and the Lightning Bolts! I had a little trouble picking my favorite song, but when I heard "Green Thumb", I just knew it had to be that one! I've been going over Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince for the past few days, and I just love the character of Neville. He's so sweet! He is such a klutzWhen it comes to riding a broomstickBut that's just my friend Neville LongbottomHe is still a studCause he's got such a green thumbHe's just my friend Neville LongbottomPotter and the Lightning Bolts is comprised of a young man named Andrew Johnson who is very talented on the guitar, and I'm a sucker for anything acoustic. As usual, you can hear the song on our myspace, and you can visit the band's myspace to hear other awesome songs, like "Song for Sirius" (another favorite) and "Tom Riddle". Show them your love by friending them and commenting!-------------------------------------------------------------
For this week's Wizard Rock Song I went to one of my favorite wizard rock bands, Ginny and the Heartbreakers! I had a hard time choosing between their songs, but I decided to go with "Hermione Granger Song", as we haven't had a Hermione song yet. This particular song is, of course, from Ginny's point of view, and she asks some very valid questions:Hermione GrangerDon't you be so dumbWhatcha doin with that KrumWhen you know you want my brotherWe could be sistersAnd you know it's trueCause Ronnie wants you tooCome on, it's no secretI love the folksy sound of Ginny and the Heartbreakers! They have great voices, and their music just makes me happy! You can hear "Hermione Granger Song" on our myspace, and you can hear more of their fantastic music, featuring songs like "Harry, You're a Hottie" and "I Have Red Hair", on their myspace, also listed in our top friends! So head on over and take a listen....while you're there, friend them, and leave them some comments filled with love!---
You know, there are so many cool Wizard Rock bands out there, and some weeks it's really tough trying to figure out which one of them to feature, and especially which song! But this week, I thought we should feature a band with the nifty name of "The Hinky Punks", who have a sound just as nifty as their name which they describe as "slick and catchy". The band hails from Las Vegas and consists of Patrick (Guitar/vocals/other sounds) and Mike (Bass/Guitar/vocals).So the song I picked from them to feature this week? "In the End".You can hear the song on our Myspace, or you can check it out on The Hink Punks' Myspace as well as their other great songs. Currently they have a new album coming out titled, "A Wizard's Diary", and you can go ahead and pre-order it on their page if you like their music! (And you really should, really.) Make sure to friend them and spread the word!If you're a fan of Wizard Rock, make to sure to go visit The Wizrocklopedia, one of our affiliates. They have the
I thought I had heard about all of the Wizarding Rock groups out there, but I was wrong. This week I found out I had missed one of the best, Oliver Boyd and the Rememberalls. Consisting of one man, Christian Caldeira, his sound is truly unique, and his voice reminds me a little of Gavin DeGraw's. Very professional. You've gotta listen if you haven't already. It was difficult choosing a song of his to feature, but I finally decided on my favorite, "Dumbledore's Song".I know that I will have to pull through. But your lessons can't be learnt without you. Why do I lose the ones that I love? I hope I can stay strong. Dumbledore, why have you abandoned me?With so many horcruxes left, I feel lost at sea.Make sure to stop by our Myspace to listen, and check out Oliver Boyd and the Rememberalls' Myspace to check out some of the other fantastic songs such as "Oh Ginny" and "The Boy Who Lived". If you like what you hear, he has an album on the way that you can pre-order!
