Every now and then I make a list of books to read and check them off as I go. Right now I am reading 2 from my list - The Fire Opal, by Catherine Asaro, and Reader and Raelynx, by Sharon Shinn. The Fire Opal started off a bit weak but is starting to really pull me in. This is a sort of separate little storyline from her previous 3 books set in the same world (see my post about the Misted Cliff Tri

On every wedding, people always receive gifts. And most of the time, those gifts are duplicates of the other gifts people give. This is not only on wedding occassions. This happens on all occassions. But more often, I can say that weddings have the most on this scenario. So people have now come up with a new way of receiving gifts, through wishlist. There would be a list of items that you pref
I mainly read RSS Feeds on my mobile phone. I like to use Google Reader, because I share my feeds with other people - students, colleagues, friends, etc and I’ve found that Google Reader has the most effective way to do that for me!

I already blogged about the things that make Skype a poor choice for a corporate environment. But, facing reality, the penetration of Skype for the home user is excellent, and a whole lot of persons are quite familiar with the interface and the usage. So, if there is a way to make Skype more corporation friendly, it becomes a very easy tool to be adopted by the employees. Now there is talk that Skype may be sold Without knowing what will be the business model of the new possible owner, here is a wish list that will make Skype the killer of all corporate IM applications.Enable autonomous functionality - Effectively, the organization should be able to run skype in an autonomous mode, without contact to outside skype servers. This would probably require integration to Active Directory or some

I am a great one for convenience. Little attributes that make a great product…..friendly, fast, cheap, and usable. Here are two I would love to lay my hands on.I love cartoons and comics, and by correlation also love people who love these two. And I believe you can learn or impart much more learning/training from using comics that anything else. Which brings me to product # 1. Anybody who has seen the Adams Family toon, even in passing, will have noticed 'The Hand'. It runs, scurries, holds cards and fetches things. Well, now you can have you own ‘Hand’ to do your bidding. Read the interesting comments from geeks who follow such kind of things. :) [Sample: Can we get video of two of these hands jousting?] Very interesting! And the second is a convenience for all those who love to cycl
Dear Mr. Polaroid Camera,All i want for Christmas is...you.That's right the Polaroid One 600 Classic camera has topped my Christmas Wishlist this year. I don't even know if these kind are sold here in Australia, but I'm determined to own one before next year, or before term starts next year at the latest.I believe that it's too early for 90s fashion to be coming back, but I never said anything about 90s technology. Lol. Remember back when the Spice Girls were the poster girls for Polaroid? They even released their own special Spice Polaroid camera! Sorry, got lost in memory lane for a second there. Well if the Spice Girls can make a comeback, so can Polaroid cameras! What's digital photography compared to instant, anyway?Join the revolution. Lol.Catch.*Romany*[photo courtesy of teds.com.au]

I remember when I first started this blog, I was lusting after the new Melissa de la Cruz book 'Crazy Hot', the 4th in 'The Au Pairs' series. Unfortunately, after 6 months, I still am. But, just like the Ralph Cool, this will be the year. 'Crazy Hot' isn't alone on my wishlist this year, however. Authors Sara Shepard and Zoey Dean have also caught my eye, of late...Crazy Hot -- Melissa de la CruzIt's been a year since the hottest au pairs ever saw the Hamptons, and they're certainly older -- though not necessarily wiser. Or drama-free.Eliza, Jacqui, and Mara thought they'd be spending the summer apart, but when Eliza's new stepmother finds herself in need of some nannying help around the megamansion with the step-monsters, Eliza makes a call...and Jacqui and Mara wind up with two first-class tickets to the Hamptons. The A-List -- Zoey DeanMoving from Manhattan's elite world to "Hollyweird" presents Anna with quite a culture shock, but one that she's ready for.

Okay so here and there between now and the end of the holiday season, I am going to start posting the stuff that's at the top of my holiday gift wishlist! Starting with this amazing top by Tory Burch. Wether you are shopping for me, or your very own little fashionista, I am sure my picks will be a success! I am actually quite surprised I haven't written anything about Tory Burch yet, so consider this the first of many postings, as I'm a die hard fan. I love everything about this print, classic TB meets vintage Pucci. And the color combination is reminiscent of a vintage dress I have... This top comes in XS, S, M, and L, and is $295.00. Considering I see this as on the pulse right now, and a guaranteed vintage hit in the future, I think it's well worth the investment!Shop Tory Burch HERE!

Yes it’s another one. Thus the cycle continues. I get at least one book that I wished for in my last wishlist and then cook up another set.
Of course the last one still applies and I’m just waiting for some extra cash to be able to purchase them from the local bookstores.
So this time, I’m making a list of books that can’t be found in the local bookstores. A real wishlist! (Much thanks to Danny Reviews!) Here it goes:
Mario Vargas Llosa’s Conversation in the Cathedral:
Conversation in the Cathedral is a novel about power and politics in Peru in the early 1950s. Two of the characters meet in a cheap eating house (the “cathedral” of the title) and spend the afternoon talking about the past. The novel is basically encapsulated within their conversation, although we are only occasionally reminded of that (by interjections) and some events accessible only to the omniscient narrator are also included…

My tip today is one that I thought everyone did, that is until I met some people who honstly didn’t! It must be the book worm in me that made it such a great idea. Go to Amazon.com and create a wishlist. Then add every book you want, your kids want, your husband wants. Just add them all. Then share your wishlist! That’s it!
It is like a personal list to Santa, only better. Share your list with friends and family so that they can see exactly what you want and need. Then they have the choice of buying the item right there from the wishlist and having it shipped straight to you or doing the shopping later on their own. Either way you don’t have to worry about unwanted gifts and they will know exactly what to get for you.
If you do not want to us Amazon there are several other sites that you can use as well. Gift Hat and The Things I Want are sites that allow you to create wishlists from anything and everything you find online.
gifts, wishlists, works for me wednesday
What, fix Vista? Why should we? No, we’re just going to let it sink into the tarpit and start working on Windows 7. And so the “wishlist” - the list of features they’re hoping to include in the next release - is published over at Techborge.
For once, Linux users can truly afford to be smug. The list practically looks like somebody loaded up an Ubuntu CD and sent them the diffs. I’m almost ready to believe that this was somebody’s idea of a joke!
“Virtual folders/volumes for removable media.” - You know, like you mount the USB thumbdrive to a folder like “/mnt/media” on Linux?
“Delete addresses from IE7’s drop-down address bar.” - Huh? There’s no way to do this already? I know in Firefox you just highlight the item you want to use and hit “shift-delete” - the same way you clear old search entries, too, and from any text box with a drop-down list of past entries, for that matter. It i
I have started writing out my Christmas wishlist for and I thought I would share it with you just in case anyone is feeling particularly generous.
First on the list is the Jurlique Intense Recovery Facial - I kind of feel like I am deserving around this time of year as I seem to be busier than usual with all the Christmas and shopping tasks thrust upon us.
The second thing on my list is Armani Code perfume. Have you smelt this yet? I caught the scent of it during my lunch break today and I absolutely love the mix of vanilla, fruits and florals.
And thirdly the Sheer Ribbons Elle Macpherson underwear in…well any colour really.
Have you created your wishlist yet?
This week’s Randomness of the Week isn’t that random, I guess; after all, we’re getting close to the holidays… and we ALL have something we want at Christmas.
Not everything on this randomly ordered list, though, is material or even plausible. Take a look, and you’ll know what I mean…

I find that making lists calms my mind. I figure, if I've got something to remember I may as well write it down (in list form, natch) therefore I can clear it from my mind without worry. So come Christmas time, my mind is filled with so many material desires (sorry, but I can't help being superficial presents-wise) that I simply must make a list. So I've decided to share my desires to realms past my immediate family, just in case anyone is feeling the same way. An electronic list is far easier to keep track of than a piece of paper, after all.As I've previously mentioned, I absolutely adore this fragrance. Including perfumes which don't actually belong to me, but I use them anyway, as well as my own measly personal stash, Ralph Cool is the only one I've actually lusted after. For the past few years, this particular item has been consistently topping my Christmas lists and yet I still haven't got it (wow, how bratty does that sound? Lol). Don't worry, though, this will be the yea

I love a good book.I've read books that have taken my breath away, and kept me glued to my seat for hours, like Anna Karenina by Tolstoy, for example.I've also embarked in crazy adventures and loved every minute of it, like with Jack Kerouac's "On the Road".I've cried with J.D. Salinger, I've been baffled and confused by Kafka, saddened by Arthur Miller and shocked by Henry Miller, and I've had the beejeebers scared out of me by Stephen King.Fashion is not the best subject for a great book (in my opinion), and I have not read "The Devil Wears Prada" (because if everybody turns right, it is my nature to want to turn left). But if you can write about fashion and make it about something different than the usual "look book" then I could become interested. This is why "Deluxe - How Luxury Lost its Luster" is now on my book's wish list.
As long as I can remember I have wanted to see the Pyramids and Egypt in general has always been on my top 3 wishlist. After months of anticipation I finally got to cross it off my list on the Private Tour: Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Sakkara.
Our guide for the day, Akhmet (though he prefers to go by the name David Beckham…) is an Egyptologist and Archaeologist, spending his days showing tourists the sites of Cairo or on his knees sweeping vast quantities of sand from ancient sites with a tiny little brush. Working for the Egyptian Government 10 days a month, he searches for lost treasures and was a man who clearly loves his job.
The Sphinx and Pyramid of Khafre
Leaving our hotel behind the 30 minute drive to Giza was predictably terrifying as every experience on Cairo roads tends to be. Along the way Becks as he will be forever known, told us a little about Cairo, a brief of the history of the city and casually pointed out a few of the famous landmarks. Chatting away
I have gone to a point where it's time to think about university. Choosing which university is of course one of the most important choices, but there's something lingering at the back of my mind...
Yep! My computer! Although my dad promised I can only buy it when I get to university, I'm already on the look out for the perfect laptop for next year. With the thought of living away from home,
What type of a person would put a trailer on a wishlist? You may well ask!
Well …. the type of guy who loves manual work as an escape from the rigours of the day job. My day job requires alot from me and it leaves me mentally exhausted at the end of the day. Manual work creates a different type of exhaustion …. and more often than not a finished product can be seen at the end of the process.

ooOOOooo.. We went to Karamunsing Complex yesterday for some "window shopping". Stopped by Tech-Asia to check out the gadgets they had. My mom, sister, son and I ended up lined up with the 4 Sony Vaio's that were on display for public viewing.. or in our case.. "public playing".There were four colours.. Red, Indigo Blue, Pink and White. And all four of us were hogging it. Hahaha. Including Buddy. Mom, as usual, started her Spider Solitaire, Seri and Buddy were playing this game called Purble place and I was just fiddling with everything that could be fiddled with. I want ONE!!!My dear husband, if you're reading this, which I know you will, please get me one. It's damn cheap. Only around RM5k. Kekekekeke.. “If I knew where poems came from, I’d go there.”
- Michael Langley
I would too. And I did go there. Last Friday and yesterday, I went bookshop hopping. But not necessarily to find poems. Accompanied my girlfriend Beryl to buy her textbooks and in the process I listed down the books that I would want to buy:
This includes Seeing by Jose Saramago, the Portuguese writer who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1998:

After reading Kerrie’s post on our latest Viator London attraction addition (which has coincidentally started an avalanche of “spankometer” sprinkled conversations), I’ve been thinking of all of the things I managed to miss on my last trip to London. While I did manage a lot in one week, I thought I’d share my new “top five things to do” in London wishlist.
1. Take a day trip to Stonehenge. Rocks, a circle, no big deal, right? The guide books I consulted were hot and cold on this as something you must see. But, after talking to other travelers to Stonehenge and reading the customer reviews, I’m putting it at number one.
2. Harry Potter & English Authors Tour. Yes, book seven is on the horizon and I suspect that more than a few of my co-workers are closet Potter fans. While I’m sure there will be much “good Snape, bad Snape” talk on this mini-van, this tour says “accio” to Tolkein fans, too.
3. Jack the R
Just as I was narrowing the field in my travel wishlist, Kelly beat me to the post (literally!) and blogged her Top Ten Travel Wishes. However, it takes more than a similar theme to dissuade me from my need to blog, so here are the Top 10 destinations on my travel wishlist.
Narrowly beating Dubai to squeeze in at number 10 is Aitutaki Island in the Cook Islands. Since seeing it on a travel show years ago, I have longed to see the perfect white sands and crystal blue waters of this remote island. A colleague honeymooned in the idyllic location late last year and now I have heard it first hand, my yearning grows stronger every day.
Sitting happily at number 9 is Monaco, the ultimate French Riviera destination. Of course, I would love to go there for the Formula One Grand Prix some time, but failing the long awaited lottery win that would be needed to do that, I will settle for a lap in a hired sports car followed by a night of modest gambling at the world famous casino.
The number 8 posi

I’ve seen a lot of Christmas wishlists while surfing blogs of late, and sat down to think about writing one of my own. But as I thought about it, I don’t really have one! At least not for myself. I have everything I want and need right now, and to add to it would trivialise the dramatic changes to myself, and my life of late. So instead, here are my wishes for just some of those people in my life who have helped it become what it is today…..
For you I wish a stocking filled with dreams come true and a tree surrounded by the love of those around you. May the memories of this time in your life keep you warm in later years.
I wish for you the strength to continue on the journey you’ve recently begun. I know it’s been hard, and a VERY long time coming, may you sleep easier with the memories that make you smile, and forgive those that make you cry.
For you a winning lotto ticket so you can get the boat that was very nearly in your grasp. You have no idea just
I love the PSP. I get some pretty decent usage out of mine, especially on quiet weekends at the shop. I download a slew of videos over the course of the week and my PC cranks out PSP friendly files while I sleep. The thing is - I’d be using the PSP much more often if only the dang thing had a few more (simple to implement) abilities.
For the price, the PSP has to be more than just a game machine and while it accomplishes the video and audio playback very well, and acts as a decent web-browser, it still comes up short for a variety of reasons.
First off it’s hard for average folk to get the hang of video conversion. While the situation has been alleviated recently, with the addition of less stringent naming rules and a wider variety of formats, the issue remains. What’s worse is that the easiest way for a new user to get this done is an additional $25 purchase. Come on Sony - you make the PSP and you make the PC software for getting the most out of the system. D
After reading Davey's latest post on which free-agents he would like to see in South Beach, that got me thinking, which free-agents/draft picks would I like my Bengals to go after. Well here they are, the future members of the Cincinnati Bengals.Free-Agents:Adalius Thomas, OLB, BALHe will surely be one of the most sought after free-agents this offseason. That is unless the Ravens are able to re-sign him. It's been no secret how bad Cincy's defense has been this year. It's very simple, if you can't stop the run, then you won't win. I actually like our line-backing core for the most part, with Landon Johnson, Caleb Miller and the possibility of the return of David Pollack. But Adailius Thomas would surely improve our defense, he could replace Brian Simmons who missed 6 games last year and only accumulated 61 tackles in the ten games he did play in and he will be 32 when the 2007 season starts.Eric Johnson, TE, SFBesides DT, this is one of our biggest needs this offseason. We don't

My contribution to the list: make us smaller. smaller people means smaller buildings, meaning more space, and less overpopulation.
The weather has become cooler in the northeast. Well, in actuality, the weather has become downright biting and cold. I've taken to wearing the black Isaac Mizrahi boots that I bought at the beginning of the year almost anytime that I go out. Of course, this leads me to the ...
