CHARLOTTE (AP) — Charlotte and Winthrop have agreed on a three-year deal to play in men’s basketball starting in the 2008-09 season. Charlotte announced Monday it will host the Eagles twice, while Winthrop will host the middle game of the series during the 2009-10 season. ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Winthrop guard DeAndre Adams died Wednesday from head injuries he suffered in a car accident, the school said.
Adams, 20, had been in a coma since Saturday’s accident. He was returning to his home in Austell, Ga., when his car left the road, flipped and hit a tree.
