Winter Storm Will Put Undocumented Aliens in Jeopardy
A two stage winter storm moved through Southern California this week dumping considerable rain and snow in the mountains and across the county.  It has been my experience that any time harsh weather, whether hot or cold hits the county it takes it's toll on any undocumented aliens making their way north from Mexico through San Diego's rugged back country.  It's highly unlikely that a mig

WINTER STORM WARNING, Steamboat Springs CO
That's right folks, our first winter storm warning is in effect. We've been hearing about this "Tuesday snow" for days, and since the Sunday and Monday rain forecast was wrong, we had our doubts. But I held hope, both for a change in weather and a change in government on this powerful election day. We awoke to darkness, the skies are Halloween-esque, gloomy and filled with a variety of stratus

Flood Warning Over Strongest Winter Storm
Householders are being warned to sandbag their properties and “batten down the hatches” as Britain braces itself for a freak combination of huge spring tides and the strongest storm of the winter.  More than a week of rainfall will lash down in just six hours on Monday as enormous waves batter the homes and shops of [...]

      Winter Storm Brings Icy Concerns.
After a nice taste of spring like weather reality sets back in Tuesday into Wednesday morning. A complex winter storm will move through Pennsylvania and into New England. This will spread a mixture of precipitation across the region. My main concern with this storm is the potential icing threat for the northern tier of [...]

      Winter Storm Feb 26-27
(Image from WROC Weather Blog, “Tight Rope Between Snow and Ice“) The main storm track for January and most of February has been like the one above. Storm systems would develop either in the southern plains or near the Gulf of Mexico then move either right over us here in the eastern Great Lakes or [...]

      New Canaan & Winter Storm
Another modest winter storm is expected to hit New Canaan tonight. See our weather page for more details. Looks like everyone is stocking up for the storm. I was over at Weed & Duryea picking up some salt to put on the driveway and the store was swamped. People were buying snow shovels by the dozen. The town's supermarkets were also packed. Everyone seemed to be buying a month's worth of food.

The snow was falling at a pace greater than an inch and hour today, making life a frozen hell in the greater Boston area tonight. After I made my way home from the office and then shoveled the walk and driveway, I found myself inspired by the foot of snow we will have by the time this thing is done... a Playlist that Came in From the Cold. Winter Storm Brings Snow & Ice
We have been monitoring a winter storm moving out of the Midwest and into the Great Lakes Saturday Night into Sunday Morning. Eventually into the Northeast. This storm system plastered a wide area of the Midwest with snow and ice, making highways slick and hazardous. The National Weather Service posted winter storm and ice warnings across parts of Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, the eastern Dakotas, Illinois and northern Michigan. Here in NW Pennsylvania and NE Ohio Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the possibility of snow, sleet and freezing rain late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. Before changing to all rain later in the day Sunday as temperatures are forecasted to be in or near the 40s. The good news about this storm is that the nastiest of the weather takes place during the overnight hours. This should limit the accidents out on the highways. The ice and sleet could lingering into the afternoon out into the Chautauqua/ Allegheny region. UPDATE: due to the

Tarja Turunen - My Winter Storm (2007)
E’ finalmente uscito My Winter Storm l’atteso disco metal-oriented di Tarja Turunen. Arricchito di collaborazioni invidiabili: Daniel Presley produttore (Faith No More - Jewel - The Breeders), Doug Wimbish al basso (Living Colour - Annie Lennox - Joe Satriani - Jeff Beck - Madonna - Rolling Stone

British Columbia winter storm season underway
A post-remembrance day windstorm has served as a reminder that the British Columbia winter storm season is underway, and residents should be prepared for future severe storms, the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) warns. Roughly 90,000 B.C. Hydro customers were without power on Nov. 12, after the first windstorm of the season first made waves on the night of Nov. 11. The storm strengthened Nov. 12 and knocked down trees and hydro lines in its wake, CBC.ca reports. At the height of the storm, roughly 196,000 customers were without power, a BC Hydro spokesperson told the CBC.ca. Many major ferry routes were cancelled during the storm. via

      Winter Storm???
So mom heard that there was going to be a winter storm today here in Los Angeles. Ok… we could certainly use some rain (we haven’t had any since April and even then, it wasn’t much), and maybe we’d even get some thunder, lightning, or gosh maybe even SNOW. She got REALLY excited because she misses “real” weather. Yes it’s September in the desert, but it was in the newspaper and on the news…   I spent my first big Winter Storm day in Pasadena. You can judge for yourself how winter-y and storm-y it was… Notice all of the snow on the streets and the silly humans - unprepared - wearing shorts and flip flops.     I stopped for a cold drink at the outdoor “ice” fountain…   A little game of hide-and-go-seek (mom kept the leash on so she would be able to find me in a snow drift or through the violent hail in case we got separated)…   Traditional winter foliage… &n
