      Picture Winged Flies
Two kinds of fruit fly accidentally arrived in Hawaii long ago when these oceanic islands were young. From them more than 800 species known as picture wings are believed to be descended, some well known, others awaiting investigation or even discovery. Picture wing flies have striking black and white patterns on their wings, and are larger than many of the others.Several different kinds of picture wings live together in the same patch of forest. So what stops them interbreeding? The answer lies in their bizarre courtship rituals and contests, for which males of each kind have their own special body design and behaviour. These males are fighting for the right to mate with a female of their type. In this trial of strength each contestant recognises the body and body language of its rival. So

Pegasus,The Winged Horse Of The Skies
Poseidon seduced Medusa in the Athena's temple. Athena got angry for this desecration, so she cursed Medusa. She turned her hair into snakes, and all those who dare to look at her eyes would be turned into stone.Perseus, Greek hero, searched for Medusa as he needed his head to defeat the marine monster called Ceto. This monster was so strong that the only way to beat it was showing it the head of Medusa, so it will be petrified.Perseus cut the head of Medussa off. And Pegasus emerged from her spilled blood.Pegasus is depicted as a gorgeous white winged horse that rides across the sky. According to the legend, where it passed, water gushed out. This is because Pegasus is symbolic descendant of Poseidon, who is not only the God of Oceans, but also of the rivers, fountains, lakes...It was said that Pegasus lived in the mount Helicon, until the Greek hero Bellerophon went to capture him.Bellerophon needed Pegasus to carry him flying to the Olympus, where the Gods lived.Zeus realized this,

      Winged Lion Sculpture
Avenue Gardens and The English Gardens (Regent’s Park) The Avenue Gardens, also known as the ‘Italian Gardens’, were designed in the mid 19th century by the Victorian garden designer Andrew Nesfield, who also designed the Palm House in Kew. His son, Markham Nesfield, landscaped the adjacent English Gardens. Both were restored in the 1990s with the addition of fountains. The simple layout of the garden consists of four avenues of trees, long gravel paths and colourful flower beds among stonework and evergreen hedging. The huge Lion Tazza urn overflows with flowers in the centre of the garden. This is the original Nesfield bowl, supported by four winged lions. QUESTION # 455: WINGED TO THE OUTER LIMITS
Dear Useless Men,You know the Space Station? How did the astronauts get in there in the first place? Where is the rocket they took to land them there? All these space shuttle crashes seem to be occurring because they have to keep sending supplies and crap up there to the astronauts. Can they not just come back? And what are they doing up there anyway.Curiously yours,LizDear Liz,Yes, I know the International Space Station. Built in orbit around earth, it is a joint project between USA, Japan, Canada, Russia and Europe. It weighs half a million pounds, and has 15,000 cubic ft of living space, which is home to three astronauts. Power comes from a large array of solar panels, and it can orbit the earth in about an hour and a half. All lies."But," you ask, "if all this information is false, then what secret is so important that this web of deception need be so intricate and believable?"It is true that the space station is home to three living beings, but they aren't astronauts. In fact, the

      Green winged macaws (w.i.p)
This is a work in progress (detail) of two green winged macaws. As you can see there is quite a bit left to do, but it is coming along and the colours have been a real pleasure to work with given the grey winter weather here just now! This painting is worked in chromacolours and is 12" x 18". I don't know alot about exotic birds, but apparently these are regarded as the gentle giants of the parrot world.
