If you were a kid in 1984, you went one of two ways: you either followed the Daniel LaRusso path and jumped into karate lessons, or you channeled your inner pimp and started break dancing. I spent that entire summer banging my nut sack on my hot-as-fuck blacktop driveway as I repeatedly tried to learn [...]

First of all, Willie is one of my all-time favorites. Because of that, I have not been rooting for the Muts to fail these past 4 years. Now that the Mets have yet again proven their lack of class and ability to handle a situation properly I hope they go the rest of the season without winning a game. While I don't believe that Willie would accept a position on Gen. Joe's staff, I do think the Yanks

One of the finest scene to visit if you're travelling from Pagudpud or coming from Laoag City is the pride of Bangui Bay in Ilocos Norte. A giant alien-looking windmills are its newest attraction after it was constructed in 2005. I just can't imagine that after two years, Ilocos had produced a truly a magnificent scene that you can't imagine and that can be found in the Philippines.WikiPilipinas t
Decades ago if you drove by a field and happened to see a windmill spinning in the wind, chances are the blades were made of wood. With new inventions and better technology today, wood is still used as material for turbine blades. The design is different however. And a lighter wood material is used, in [...]
A closer shot of the Ribbes windmill I was posting about yesterday. Since this place is very close to Lithuanian border, this is also possible for them to come here and have fun. We actuly did see some cars with Lithuanian licence plates.

I attempted to frame this image correctly by using the rule of thirds. You can see the object of the photo, the windmill, is in the left third of the frame.
The haze in the image works too as it...

It will be almost couple of years since my last trip to Hannover, Germany. Germany was really nice place to visit, clean and also reminded me a bit place when I used to live when I was a kid. Everything looked so clean, nice farm lands and beautiful architecture in places like Munster or Olsenburg, and lot of people on the bikes. Autobahn was fun, in some sections there was no speed limit and since it was still summer time, lot of bikers passed us, at the no speed limit zone of course. The interesting part of the whole trip was how environmentally friendly Germans are and two things being, self cleaning toilets and windmill farms or technically called wind turbines. I will leave self cleaning toilets for another day - I actually took a video of the whole mechanism, lol. However, the fascin

How great would it be to have your own personal wind turbine that you can carrying around with you outdoors? The portable, umbrella-like ‘Wing’ personal windmill produces enough electricity to power cell phones, laptops, and lamps, and can be used for camping, road trips, or in developing rural areas with no access to an [...]

With all the sobering news lately about global warming and war, it’s important to remember all the positive things that are ALSO going on in the world at any given time. Case in point: the story of intrepid Malawi youth William Kamkwamba who, despite having no formal education or training, recently engineered and built a windmill to power his house. It’s certainly the most inspiring story we’ve read this month, and we think you’ll agree… (more)From inhabitat.
Want to reduce your electric bill?BEACH HAVEN TERRACE, N.J., July 10 — Tired of paying as much as $340 per month for gas and electricity at the Cape Cod home here where he has lived for 18 months, Michael Mercurio erected a 35-foot windmill in his backyard last fall that helped reduce his bill to about $114 — a year. That's from $4,080.00 per year to $114.00 per year! I could put up with a bit of noise for that...Put money into the technology and they could be noisless, too....
Summer is on the way and if you have children, they will love this garden toy project from Family Fun. Even if you do not have children but do have a cat or a dog, the entertainment possibilities are high!
Though not the most stylish garden toy, this is great fun. The project is to make a windmill that catches the wind and then emits bubbles from the windmill blades. You could spruce up the

Tilly Foster Farm is an old horse farm that was purchased a few years ago by Putnam County to retain as open space. It has beautiful rolling fields, old buildings and barns, and a fantastic overview of miles and miles from the top of the pastures. This painting was done from a photo I took there in the fall.
Making a Multi-Media Sketchbook
I’ve made a number of sketchbooks over the years and have recently been asked to share some of them. This is perhaps the easiest, most useful, and most versatile of them all. The biggest advantages to this design are that many different kinds of paper can be used for various media and effects, plus the paper can be removed easily for framing.
Use any kind of cardboard, foamcore, illustration board, or matboard for your covers. I used scrap pieces of matboard that I had around the house and cut two pieces to the sam
Crafting for younger children is best when you can get quick and exciting results at a low cost. This idea for creating a pinwheel windmill is perfect for the cause. All you need is some paper, a pencil and, the trickiest item to find, a split pin!
The kids will love this as the whole project will take only around ten minutes to create, plus any colouring time needed when personalising the

October Windmill, 9x12, oil/linen$375, unframedTo Purchase: jan.blencowe@comcast.net Isn't this a beautiful scene? It seemed absolutely idyllic to me. The windmill, the river, the trees just beginning to turn, afternoon light, moody sky, sail boat and there were 30-40 swans in the river too, although they didn't make it into the painting LOL. Beautiful, except that I had to set up in a cemetary to get this view LOL. This is in Essex, CT and the windmill is authentic, and that's the Connecticut river. Enjoy! PS Yes, Yes I know it's not October yet. But I'm just one day off and I liked the way the title sounded!plein airpaintinglandscapeartessex windmill
