Not so much of late, post ‘Source Tags & Codes’ they appear to me at least to be on a downward creative spiral. That album was a true spectacular, brimmed full of anthemic guitar epics and heroic vocal turns. An undoubted bright spot in the aftermath of ‘Source Tags & Codes’ came in the form of 2003’s ‘The Secret of Elena’s Tomb’ EP which included this rip-roaring chimefest. While it may have lacked the glorious bluster of their classic material it nonetheless underlined how Jason Reece and Conrad Keely are such ardent believers in the power of a good tune. i remember when i was a kid i'd watch wide world of sports on abc, and every year they'd show the hawaiian ironman. i loved the stories of the athletes, the families supporting them, and just the excitement of watching people finish. i have this overwhelming urge in me to make a story for myself at an ironman. it's something that's inside me that's gripping me, making me remember the emotion of watching the ironman and thinking "one day that'd be awesome if i could do that and finish". the time's come to make my own story. this blog will chronicle my story.
