Kate Whitman, daughter of the only Republican to win a statewide election in New Jersey in 20 years; former Governor Christine Todd Whitman, announced that she will run for the New Jersey 7th Congressional District seat being vacated by Mike Ferguson.The district, which meanders around Northern New Jersey from Roselle, Cranford, Scotch Plains through Somerset and Hunterdon Counties, has a slight Republican tilt.
