Black and white stripes are back and better than before, coupled with black or bold colours and you’re onto a winner.
An example of how fresh this style can be is this Spring/Summer ‘08 J’aime Collection. The colours black & white paired together can be subdued and sophisticated or they can be edgy and breathtaking, it’s [...]
They’re baaaaack! The White Stripes announced on their website late last night that their sixth album, which bears the excellently bizarre title of Icky Thump, will be released “as soon as corporately possible.”
That was the most poorly written article ever. Even for Pitchfork.

Every year, shopping malls and radio stations bombard listeners with the same awful Christmas songs. By the time New Year's rolls around, you'll have heard "Frosty the Snowman" about 40 zillion times, not to mention all the awful holiday goo being spewed by Celine Dion and Josh Groban.
But, this holiday season, instead of complaining about the songs you do hear, maybe you should be thankful for the songs you don't have to hear.
For further proof, check out today's list:

The Lomographic Society and the band The White Stripes have collaborated to create limited-edition Meg Diana+ and Jack Holga cameras. The Lomographic Society has collaborated with the band The White Stripes to create two limited-edition cameras. The Jack Holga and Meg Diana+, named after Jack White and Meg White of the White Stripes, use the band's signature red, black, and white color motif and peppermint logo. Functionally identical to plain, unrocking Holga and Diana+ models, the Jack Holga and Meg Diana+ are plastic medium-format film cameras with fixed-focal-length lenses. They have been produced in editions of 3000 units each, and come in specially designed packages with a customized set of accessories.Aimee Baldridge more : popphoto
White Stripes get their own Lomography camerasDon't look now, but Jack and Meg are at it again. Yep, the White Stripes are once more reaching out to the retro lovin', geeked-out crowd by offering up a set of 'all-plastic,' limited edition Lomography cameras. The JACK Holga and MEG Diana+ seem to only differ from their standard counterparts externally, but fans of the band are sure to appreciate the Rob Jones-designed motifs. Notably, the JACK Holga Starter Kit includes 'an additional Fisheye lens, three filter set and a custom Peppermint lens filter,' while MEG's version comes with the 'Nobody Knows How To Talk To Children' ringflash and a custom Peppermint Film Mask filter. Both kits are available as we speak for $180 apiece, but you better make haste, as only 3,000 of each camera were constructed. Check out a few more looks after the break.(Via Engadget.)
The White Stripes one of my favorite bands, announced that they’re canceling their remaining tour dates this year. Former spouses Jack White and Meg White say the reason is acute anxiety from Meg. She is unable to travel. And that’s all the detail they give. Meg is known for being incredibly shy - going through entire interviews without talking. Still, this is a disappointment.
They are a ‘detroit garage rock’ but I think of them as one of the indie bands - even though they aren’t.
On July 14, 2007, they marked their tenth anniversary as a band. They performed at the Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. The show sold out in twelve minutes. There’s my favorite song about Janet, called Little Acorns.
They apologized for the cancellations and will issue refunds.

This is really funny and this is weird !! There are many secrets to making it in the music industry, but it seems there is also a secret to making it in the music concert as well. The shortest show ever by the White Stripes during their show in St. John’s Canada.
Although it is really short but the fans LOVE it.

In rounding out their extensive Canadian tour on Monday, July 16, the White Stripes played the shortest set in rock n roll history. Hundreds of fans gathered on George Street in St. Johns, forewarned of how quick the show would be, and heard Jack and Meg strum a C-sharp. And that was it.
Another week, another discharge of new material from some of todays biggest musicians. Weve reviewed, weve debated, weve laughed and weve cried from these rousing releases that aspire to fill our lives with joy. Yes, another week of dreams made, hopes crushed now lets talk numbers. Bon Jovi scored the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 list with the debut of Lost Highway
Meg White took center stage to sing In the Cold, Cold Night, while later on some guy had Jack read a note proposing marriage to a girlfriend (cheesy, yes, but having Mr. White read a note to your girl at Bonnaroo sure beats the hell out of using the scoreboard at a baseball game). Awesome times all around
Another new track from Icky Thump. It's called "Rag and Bone" and it's easily the most bizzare song of 2007. I don't know what to think about it yet, but it's good to know that Jack White is still able to surprise us four albums later.
I've heard the whole new The White Stripes which regularly draws simple guitars, drums, and again guitars. I must admit that "Seven Nation Army" is their best single and work yet, I can't see such another amazing song on this album despite many hard-hitting guitars work on Jack White's impatient songwriting. The White Stripes love noises, unfortunately quite simple songs aren't memorable enough

In fact, the White Stripes sound like arena rock as hand-crafted in the attic. Singer/guitarist Jack White's voice is a singular, evocative combination of punk, metal, blues, and backwoods while his guitar work is grand and banging with just enough lyrical touches of slide and subtle solo work to let you know he means to use the metal-blues riff collisi
We already know about the White Stripes' headlining Bonnaroo gig coming up this summer. We also already know about the upcoming release of their latest album, Icky Thump, due June 19. Now, we finally have the details about Jack and Megs North American tour in support of Thump. And if you live in a crazy part of the continent that doesnt often get big-time shows, you just might be in luck
I case you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a big fan of the White Stripes. I’ve been listening to them since their commercial debut and within the course of about a month of when I first heard of them, they were my newest favorite band.
Such a combination of styles throughout their albums from straight forwards garage rock, to stripped down blues, to folk, to roots rock ‘n’ roll, is what always makes their albums exciting. After hearing their first three albums, I still didn’t expect what was to come. When I first heard Elephant, I wasn’t prepared for the depth of their songs, covers and range of material. When I first heard Get Behind Me Satan I wasn’t prepared for the diversity of their instrumentation with the inclusion of mandolin, a lot of piano, and marimba or the bit of experimentation with spontaneity, double tracking and noise.
Seeing that I was amazed and blown away by what this duo accomplishes on an album on each prior re
