Most of my real estate dealings are residential transactions but every once in a while I get to dabble in commercial real estate. I was tickled pink when my friend David Soldi called me when he decided he want to open his own salon and spa. We spent several months searching until we found a nice spot in East Rochester.
Finding the spot was easy compared to what followed. For the next few
For all of us 90210 fans, we are eagerly awaiting the spinoff show on the CW. Well, I don't know about you, but when I read on People.com that Shannon Doherty is in talks with the show about reprising her role as Brenda Walsh, I was filled with excitement. Let's just hope she doesn't mess it up before she even gets on the show. Rumor is that the reason she hasn't signed on yet is because they
It's not the plot for a sitcom, it's a genuine possiblity...at least according to sportsnet.ca, the site that's reporting the Penguins have offered a contract to Jaromir Jagr. Let me now pick myself off of the floor, sniff some smelling salts and try to finish this post. It's been a busy start to free agency today for the Penguins, who've already re-upped Mark Eaton for two years at and Pascal Dup
Welcome home to the land of fat people and little portion control, Leena!
It all started with the Danny I-Tannery. I knew after the long trip home from Australia to Chicago, the only thing I would want to do was chill with my closest friends that I hadn't seen in a year and a half. And eat. A lot. Preferably in Chicago. My food twin, Bobby, decided to host a weekend at his place, and after a bu

Audi’s 5-cylinder: Welcome backBy Euro CarsI’ll admit I have an admiration for car companies that aren’t afraid to do things their own way. For a long time, Audi was one of them as one of the pioneers of the 5-cylinder engine. When it was first introduced, a lot of people thought Ingolstadt was off its collective rocker to build and sell such an unconventional engine. For many years, the 5 w

Tonight was my first busy night of television since before the Strike. ABC's Thursday night line-up (Ugly Betty, Grey's, Lost) premiered tonight and NBC tried out a new time-slot for 30 Rock. Both of these tidbits were great news for me, especially on the same night. The time slot switch made it possible for me to watch all of my shows in one sitting. It was like a new lane opening up on a busy highway.Anyone else settle in for a night of superb comedies topped off by perplexing drama (thanks LOST)? It was really nice to have so many options again. Not only that, but the episodes were really well done. I'm officially back in the swing of things...just in time for things with SAG to heat up. I won't be able to take another strike. Hopefully it won't come to that.I'm going to sleep well to
It’s only taken about a year or more but i’ve finally started to get the site sorted out again. If i’m honest the only reason i’ve had got around to it is becuase my second Xbox 360 had the Red Ring of Death again.
[Marc by Marc Jacobs on Style.com--yes, this is a guy, but the trend applies to girls too.]News flash: Doc Martens are back, kids! I'm not making this up--here it is straight from the horse's mouth (a.k.a. a top fashion editor at T Magazine):"We saw it in Europe at Jil Sander and Ferragamo, but seeing it at Marc by Marc Jacobs makes it official. The shoe of next season is the chunky-soled Doc Martens-inspired lace-up. It looked great worn here with slightly short pants in a very post-punk, new-wave way. There was a lot of conspicuous ankle flashing. Now, with my spindle shanks, I don’t think I’m going try these at home, but they sure will look cool on those L-train kids.”I don't live in Manhattan so I don't know if I might qualify as an L-train kid if, hypothetically, I were to live
April 4, 2008Britney Spears is always welcome back to How I Met Your Mother. “We always said, ‘You know, if her character pops, we’ll bring her back,’” the CBS sitcom’s executive producer Carter Bays tells the Associated Press. “I thought she was great. I was very proud of that episode.” On the March 24 show Spears, 26, played at receptionist at a dermatologist’s office, opposite Josh Radnor. Costar Neil Patrick Harris said Spears was “really funny”. “It was totally weird,” Bays said of having Spears on the set. “I think we have a very, like, kind of Midwestern homey vibe here on the show, and it was strange to suddenly have helicopters circling.” he said. The episode wrapped up with Spears’s character flirting with womanizer Barney (Harris). The following w

He left for work early Monday morning. Just got back tonight. I think I actually woke up last night missing his snore? The girls flipped when he walked through the door. The cat has been giving him the squawks. I got all teary when I got my hug. I'm such a sap. I'm glad he's home. He smells kinda funny and doesn't move very quick in the mornings. But I'd rather have him here than not.I'm not looking forward to his Japan trip. Ellen and I will have to brace for that one. Sarah will be excited just saying he's in Japan, and proceed to describe where Japan is, how to get there and the history of Japanese culture.

I, like many others have anxiously been awaiting the return of Project Runway for what feels like years, decades, centuries! I mean seriously, the last season finale I was a different person. For starters I was in a relationship, washed my hair more often, consumed far less alcohol, cooked regularly and as a matter of fact I had yet to create because im addicted. It may sound as though Ive gone downhill, with the exception of the blog, but to the contrary having less time to wash your hair isnt so bad. Ive learned that day 2 is by far the best hair day and day 3 is ideal for well held braids. Enough of my rant, lets take a look at the cast: hhmmm is what I thought too. Now, you can either be really lazy and wait until next week for an introduction or you can read each of their bios on bravotv.com/Project_Runway/season/4/bios/. I opt for the former. One week from today the games begin!!Photo Cred: bravo
France’s president, Nicolas Sarkozy, burst onto the Washington scene on Tuesday, in his first official visit to the White House and asking the United States to embrace him as a friend.
Mr. Sarkozy backslapped and hugged his way through the day. He also proclaimed his determination to be a reliable partner of the United States.
“I come to Washington to bear a very simple message, a message that I bear on behalf of all Frenchmen,” he said in a toast at a formal White House dinner in his honor. “I want to reconquer the heart of America.”
“Sarko l’Américain,” as he is called, is considered the most pro-American French president in decades. Mr. Sarkozy’s relationship with Mr. Bush is said to be warm, and his stance on Iran tough.
That’s not the attitude Bush would have ever heard from former French President Jacques Chirac who publicly lobbied against the United States at the U.N. and everywhere else. In electing Sarkozy the French people have clearly rejected Chir

I was pleasantly surprised to correspond with Mark Maunder, the founder of Feedjit, almost immediately after I posted about taking it down. Just a few days later, my suggested "Ignore my browser" feature appeared. That's even faster than my response time to SW feature requests at work (well depends on who asks and whether I think it is cool, etc.). So many brownie points go to Mark and his team; Feedjit is happily restored to my blog.

As the dust settles on the National Day celebrations, as the national flags hung outside windows still flutter, slowly losing its colour in the bright tropical sun, I pledge my allegiance to another flag.
And the only anthem I will sing is You’ll Never Walk Alone.
My country is the English Premiership.
My people are Liverpool FC.
My home is Anfield.
My language is football.
I love red (and sometimes white).
I love God (though he went away).
I hate the Devil.
And I despise the Blues.
Love me, love my football!
It begins tonight! The new season of the English Premier League.
Aston Villa versus LIVERPOOL
I live in hope …. for number 19.
Well, I'm not quite ready to eat my words on the Growden bashing - moving aside the performance director and making the PR guy redundant ain't quite a 'clear-out' at the ARU. I'll save my humble pie for if an assistant coach actually goes. But more important is the good news; the ARU have taken on Pat Howard as their high performance director. Pat has the hallmarks of a real star in the Wallabies' brains trust. He's represented the top clubs in both hemispheres, played for the Wallabies, already coached to success, and most importantly, all of this has taken place in the professional era (he was born in 1973)Here's and excerpt from an article from The London Times that did a great job of summarising what they think of him up here:“Off the pitch, he’s a shambles,” Simon Cohen said with the air of a man who has had to rummage around Pat Howard’s car, looking for a lost ignition key, too frequently for comfort. “On the pitch he’s brilliant, his understanding of the gam

Don't look so excited to be here.
Frankly, I'm not sure what you're doing back here or where we're going to put you. Yes, you've done a nice job at AAA (.331/.407/.977), but, in my opinion, Felix Pie has done a much better job (.371/.414/1.007), and we actually have a position for him. Never has my goodwill towards a player tanked as quickly as it did with you. And it's all your fault. I'm willing to give you another chance, but if I see balls bouncing over your head out there or any weak-ass ground balls from you, we're through.
Apparently you brought Rocky with you. He can stay, as he has a cool name and Scott Eyre sucks and he gets cool injuries like "strained lats."
No word yet on who the Cubs will send down.*

The MLS All-Stars will play Celtic tonight at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (pictured) in Denver (okay, actually Commerce City, Colorado). It should be an entertaining game if you believe the claims from the Celtic camp that they intend to take this game seriously, especially after Chelsea lost 1-0 last year in the All-Star Game. Unfortunately for Celtic, they will be playing in a heat they aren’t accustomed to as well as an altitude that perhaps none of the players have experienced.
The big news out of Denver yesterday, however, is the announcement that the San Jose Earthquakes will return to MLS next season as an expansion club. However, for you NFL fans, the expansion will be similar to the Cleveland Browns brief absence from the league; the Earthquakes name, uniforms, and history (including the team’s MLS Cups in 2001 and 2003) remain in San Jose.
For the most part, I’m happy about this. It shows the strength of the league to be able to return to an area th
During yesterday's Braves / Reds game, Chip Caray mentioned that the Braves had re-acquired Julio Franco and for once, Chip was not spewing cow diarrhea from his mouth. Franco cleared waivers and is a member of the Braves again.Usually, when my teams signs a 68-year old man, I jam a sharp object under my nail but that's somehow not the case with Franco. I've always liked Julio and I'm looking forward to seeing him in a Braves uni again. I dunno, maybe it's because he's 72 and he's still ripped like an angry bull.I do think that this signing means that something bigger is on the way. Either Jarrod Saltalamacchia is going to be traded and Scott Thorman will get the first base job back while Julio backs him up. Or, Thorman's ass will be shipped out, freeing up first base for Salty while Julio backs Salty up.I'm hoping for the latter because Thorman is as dangerous at the plate as a dead poodle, while Salty has the makings of a star. The fact that Thorman was the last guy still on

Ny Post ,Kevin Kernan says Yankees must sign Clemens than The Redsox. The recent injuries with Wang’s and Andy’s back spasms.
"There is no time to waste. Circumstances dictate immediate action. The Yankees need to play their best hand and get Roger Clemens back in Pinstripes.
All the plans, all the moves are meaningless without an ace.
As Cashman walked off the field after batting practice, I asked him if he has had any recent contact with Clemens’ agents in light of the Wang injury and Andy Pettitte’s troublesome back.
"They know we’re interested," Cashman said.
Clemens not only is the Yankees’ best option, he is their only option.
The Yankees need to get Pettitte to send the following text message to Rocket: Come home to Pinstripes, old man"
I agree with Kevin, I hope Roger comes back and pitch for Yankees once again.

The battle to shape the urban landscape continues, with plenty of planners considering cars machina non gratis. Despite the automotive demonization, some cities have realized that pedestrianization sacrifices commerce on the altar of political correctness. Providence, Rhode Island and other urban centers have learned that lesson the hard way. Add St. Albans, West Virginia to the list. The Sunday Gazette-Mail reports that the town is about to re-open the pedestrianized city center to four-wheeled travelers, hoping to recapture lost biz from the suburban malls. The move is in sync with former New York City urban planner Alexander Garvin theories, as found in The American City, What Works, What Doesn't. "Well-conceived, privately managed shopping centers manipulate the flow of customers from their point of arrival to their destinations. For the most part, cities are unable to do this because they neither own the properties that abut the public streets nor determine who will lease
