      Weekend warriors
This past 4th of July weekend was not a banner one for the restaurant. Business was a bit off as alot of folks took the opportunity to go out of town for the long weekend, whilethose who remained did fireworks/cookouts/familyactivities at home. But that didn't mean that we didn't have our share of dysfunctional hijinks at our diningestablishment. As we are bit shorthanded as far as nightshift wait

Chikako and Chiharu's reading is much better than before. They both seem to enjoy reading. The easier it becomes the funner it gets for them. It's one of the beauties of knowledge. When you get some.....you want some more :)!!Chinami is still #1 but she needs to keep pushing herself. Her diary is one of the best in my School. She is very good!!This class is doing good but the reading needs to get better. Quickly!!These girls have to give me an opinion (spoken/written) about the topic of the week which I grab from the Mainichi online news site. This will be tough for a while but they will catch on pretty quick.

      Weekend Warriors - Update
      >Update on the shows:Project Runway 4. Their last field trip was to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. They were asked to look for any work of art that will serve as their inspiration for their next design. There were 5 of them, but only 3 will be on the finals where they'll have to create their own line to be shown at Olympus Fashion Week (months from now). This episode was the last designing challenge, thus 2 will be eliminated. However, only one was (Sweet P.). Christian and Jillian were in. Rami and Chris, the bottom two other than Sweet P., were deadlock for the third spot, thus they were both allowed to create their own line for Fashion Week. However, there will be a twist: just days before the biggest show, Rami and Chris must present the 3 strongest creations in their line

      Weekend Warriors
"I couldn't ask for a better place to be.."The weekend before THE weekend. Woot!Museum Visit.Me and some of my Hum. II classmates (and blockmates as well) went to Met (The Metropolitan Museum of Manila) for a required gallery viewing. It was only my fourth time (?) to go to a museum. There were several exhibits there. Some of the Permanent Exhibits include The Classical Philippine Goldwork and Pottery (Basement) which features a lot of ancient Philippine accessories made of gold and ivory. On the other side of the basement are earthenwares made of clay. Changing exhibitions include HEROËS ANÓNIMOS OF A BRILLIANT STRUGGLE: Art Making and Art Makers at the U.P. School of Fine Arts (my favorite), WEN FANG: INSIDE THE SCHOLAR’S STUDIO (GEMS OF CHINESE CULTURAL ANTIQUITIES), and ENLIVENING

Ok, so we didn't hike or camp or anything rugged, but I think taking 4 toddlers ages 3 and under out both weekend days qualifies for some type of scout badge or something! We're are own little weekend warriors. This is the second weekend in a row that we were out most of the day both days! Our lives are slowly returning to normal. Not really, but a girl can pretend, huh?Saturday was the parade and today we went to William and Lily's 3rd birthday party in the late afternoon after church in the morning. Tired yet? We are. William and Lily (and big brother Sam) are some of Austin's best buddies. The clown was a huge hit with the kids and pretty funny for the adults.John was just as scared of the clown as he was the big fire engine on Saturday. Lauren and Tyler took everything in stride as usual. Austin was very slow to warm up to the clown, but that's all he talked about on the way home.

      Damn You Weekend Warriors.
I ran into a neighbor recently and she was excited to tell me about a new tile store she had found that morning on the way home from her kids' soccer games. She went into detail about their amazing selection and what she had bought there to start on her home project that afternoon. I listened in amazement, not because of her hand-carved Tunisian quartz backsplash she was describing but because
