We're Going To Wembley! (Manchester United 4 - Watford 1)
On paper it was David vs Goliath and the scoreline suggested so, but in truth for 67 minutes, Watford gave us a harder time than we had expected. What they lacked in quality, they made up with endeavor and determination.Rooney belted in a stunner in the 6th minute and it looked like United would run away with the game. We were comfortably in control and threatening to score more while not even getting into second gear. Then Edwin Van der Sar probably broke his nose again, and after a lengthy treatment, Watford took advantage of our confusion and equalised thru Hamuer Bouazza's beautiful bicycle kick. But their joy was shortlived when Ronaldo celebrated his new contract by popping up to put United back in the lead in the 28th minute. Parity was broken only 2 minutes after it was achieved. However brave Watford did not hang their heads down. They came at United with vigor and perseverance. An injury to Rio resulting in us reshuffling our backline, gave them more hope.Cream has a way of r

THE Match Report: Watford 2 - 2 Charlton
Coming from last week's amazing performance against the Hammers, the Addicks faithful went into this match with their hopes high!A few changes, including Jonothan Fortune being recalled from loan at Stoke, meant we didn't start with the same team that thrashed United 7 days previously. But hey ho life moves on and we had to make sure to take what we can in one of the so called easier fixtures for us this season. But, saying that, we went 2-0 down within 20 minutes. You couldn't get any worse. I was hoping that we would turn out like United did last week. This remained for the majority of the half and Watford nearly added another just before the break. But Charlton kept their heads held high, and around 20 minutes into the second half, Luke Young slotted home a goal which resulted from a precision pass from Alexandre Song. Song has been great for us! Long may it continue!Just as it looked as if we were destined for a loss, Darren Ambrose headed in a Dennis Rommedahl cross to equal the

United Puts 4 Past Hopeless Watford (Manchester United 4 - Watford 0)
I'm in the middle of my reservist, hence only able to catch this game with one eye open. And I'm making this really short since I'd be outta the house in half an hour. Couple of things here:Watford is really hopeless. For most, if not the entire game, they were left chasing shadows. United made several changes from the last game, and it took some time for the players to gel. But when they eventually did in the second half, they absolutely murdered Watford. I have no doubts that Watford would be relegated. None whatsoever. The only bright spark for them this season is Ben Foster....and he's on loan from us. The last couple of goals in the game were superb. We've simply got keep Larsson for at least this season. He came on as a sub and played really well. Rooney was brilliant as well. Last but not least, we ended the match with O'Shea and Brown in central midfield. Oh, and Scholes was not missed in this game at all.

      WATFORD 0-3 LIVERPOOL
Daily Mirror 15 January 2007Peter Crouch admitted the pain of Liverpool's Carling Cup calamity inspired them to victory over woeful Watford - even if Rafa Benitez still will not admit he got it wrong.Benitez has endured one of the toughest weeks of his managerial career after his gamble of fielding a second string line-up in the Carling Cup against Arsenal backfired. Liverpool boss Benitez brought back two-goal Crouch and the other big guns to shoot down Watford but insisted next month's Champions League showdown with Barcelona and qualifying for next season are the only things on his mind. Crouch made it clear, though, that while Benitez still believes his cup gamble will be vindicated in the long run, the players are upset after their two most realistic chances of silverware disappeared within the space of four days. England striker Crouch says Liverpool are determined now to carry on making up for their cup disasters by beating Chelsea at Anfield next Saturday and closing the gap
