Welcome to the Land of Waterfalls
Transylvania County, in western North Carolina, is aptly named "Land of Waterfalls" because of the 250+ waterfalls that dot the 379 square miles of the county. Nearly one-third of the area is national forest land, making this an ideal location for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Transylvania County is made up of a number of small towns including Brevard and is about a 45 minute drive southwest of

That is a summary of our Thursday. However, all of that was done on what was supposed to be dry land. Day 1 – Big Waterfalls, Long Drive
There was a delay in getting the necessary permits for the jeep tour north so we ended up leaving an hour late. Then, a little ways outside of Gangtok, we stopped at a scenic outlook for 30 minutes though clouds hid the mountains of interest. We left a stop at Phodong Monastery [...]

      Waterfalls in Texas
It is difficult to find a natural waterfall in flat as pancake Texas terrain, especially around Dallas-Fort Worth area. An innovative rancher in Plano has built this tall tower out of which water continuously flows and appears like a waterfall. This is the closest thing to a waterfall I have seen till date in Texas.

      The waterfalls along Kennon Road
Finally, a trip I can really call a vacation! I drove up to Baguio a few hours after I had arrived from Iloilo City. I was rushing up to attend the wedding of my cousin at the Baguio Country Club. The trip up Kennon Road was very refreshing. The views were so picturesque and it was only now that I noticed there were so many waterfalls. So I stopped several times to take photos of them. Two of them are quite popular namely Bridal Veil Falls and Colorado Falls. In fact, you could actually swim in Colorado Falls as the water is very clear and there are facilities in the area.

      More waterfalls in Biliran
Biliran is an island province at the northern tip of Leyte. And just like Samar, it's connected by a bridge so there's no need for a boat ride. From Tacloban, I took a van to Naval which was about 3 hours away. I took some photos at the Biliran Bridge. They don't make infrastructure with character nowadays. If there's one thing I liked about Marcos, he made infrastructure grand such as the San Juanico Bridge, and not like the ugly, kitsch infrastructure our current DPWH churns outs. The next day, I took a habal-habal ride to Tinago Falls. The drivers charge so much here in Biliran, it's so difficult to get to these out-of-the-way places without creating a big hole in your pockets. The local government should enforce standard rates to get to these places to save tourists from the hard-bargain, especially since they are vigorously promoting their many attractions which are most definitely worth the visit. There are more waterfalls such as Casiawan Falls, Casabangan Falls, Bagongbong Fa

      Chasing waterfalls in Samar
Day 4 of my Eastern Visayas trip was around Calbayog, known as the City of Waterfalls. So it's a shame if I didn't visit at least one. After going around the city's historic core, I proceeded to the terminal to take the jeep to Allen. The jump off point in Brgy. Tinaplacan is an hour away, halfway between downtown Calbayog and the port town of Allen in Northern Samar. Looking at the map, Calbayog is almost twice as big as Biliran Province!I ended up in Brgy. Bugtong, a few meters from Tinaplacan. The waterfall is in the territory of Bugtong but you need to pass through Tinaplacan. It's 3 kilometers from the road. And the locals suggested I hire a habal-habal so I have a guide to the falls which turned out to be a good idea since the path was very muddy. The motorbike actually slipped and we fell off on the way there. Luckily, I escaped with minor scratches. To get to the main falls, you had to walk on several cascades. There were some slippery parts so I had to take off my shoes. I

Update: Photo of the Moment: Impossible Waterfalls
This is why I love the internet. I post questions all the time to which I never realistically expect an answer. The other day, I posted this Photo of the Moment of an impossible series of waterfalls, questioning where it was taken and if it was, in fact, real. Steve commented shortly thereafter that it’s very much real and was taken at the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia. Thanks, Steve!

Shooting At The Speed of Slow : Waterfalls
Photographing Scenes At Small Apertures When I first started shooting, and quite often at the mall, I will encounter one of those large backlit displays with the flowing waterfalls. You know the ones, the waterfall is all feathery and the light behind it makes it look like the water is flowing. I really don't like those displays... :) But what I DO like, is the photography. Those beautiful and ethereal photographs of moving water, turned mist or made dreamy, through the use of long exposures. This is something that anyone can do, provided they have a tripod, a camera that can be set for slightly longer exposures, and a lens or lens and filter, that can be stepped down, to reduce the light coming in through the lens to the camera. Did I mention a tripod would be helpful? ;) » Read More »»

      Mt. Romelo and its waterfalls
I hiked up Mt. Romelo in Siniloan, Laguna with the UP Med Outdoor Society. It's actually a hill if you compare it to other mountains. But Mt. Romelo is a popular destination because of its four waterfalls: Buruwisan, Lansones, Batya-Batya, and Sampaloc. The group visited Buruwisan Falls which was really an awesome sight. Others went to Lansones Falls too.But it was a crazy adventure for the group and myself too. I had to change a flat tire while I was on my way to our meeting point. Our jeeps didn't arrive on time so we were more than two hours delayed. The organizers were told that one of the jeeps had a flat too that's why they didn't arrive on time. We got new jeeps instead. But since we were two hours delayed, we now had to deal with slow traffic in certain places. One of the jeeps we hired had something wrong with the tires too. So we kept on stopping to adjust the brakes. On the way to Buruwisan Falls, my body just gave way (since I had zero hours of sleep which is quite stupi

Aberdulais Waterfalls - Untouched by Man
I live quite close to Aberdulais Waterfalls, known to a lot of people as Glyn-Neath Waterfalls.  It is part of the Brecon Beacons National Park and is therefore protected from development.  There are some clumps of planted forestry here and there but the interesting part is the natural woodland that surrounds the falls.  It is made up mainly of oaks, hazels and birches.  All that is very normal until you see the sizes and shapes of them.  They grow in such harsh conditions they are forced to curl in every different direction just to hang onto the cliffs they are growing on. The Waterfalls And Rapids Of IT Projects - Can Project Managers Survive Them?
There are a number of problems with both traditional and RAD methods of controlling custom and or complex IT projects. Many projects would be improved if expert help and more time were spent restructuring the project at the start to help the IT supplier clarify the design choices and the IT client clarify the business requirements. Whilst this does involve an explicit acceptance that money will be spent "investigating" and "researching;" this is actually nothing more than bringing present good practice out into the open.
