Today was a really strange day and it got proved to me that you can’t understand women. Period. Or that men are just creatures who have no idea about the most basic social interaction types – you talk, I talk, we both listen and that’s it. Nooo, it always has to be a bit more complicated and the “bad” thing has to be on my side. Forever and ever, like a curse, like something which will a

A couple of weeks ago, I read this article in Saitama Newspaper. I should feel guilty and concern for the Japanese people. Do you know why? The article reads "食品の25%無駄に." This means that 25% of Japan's food is wasted. The photo inlet shows hundreds of unsold bentous are being prepared for proper disposal. Inline with my previous article on Excess Food, I hope the Japanese people
Thanks to modern fast life, we all are becoming faster than machines. Life is becoming only fast and fast due to competitiveness of our world. Today we are so much busy that we do not have time for our self. First we are busy in our work then in our house work and finally in other crisis. Due this we mostly start living an irregular life which causes lot of waste of energy, time and resources. Most
I'm having one of those "spin-y0ur-wheels-in-place days" today. That happens to me when I can least afford to have it happen, of course, right when I am so overwhelmed with things needing to be done in the next week that I can't focus on any one of them long enough to make any real progress on the list.
In the early morning hours of June 25, I am hitting the road for Owensboro, Kentuck
Maine Owl spots a new BBC report about the astronomical toll of waste, fraud and abuse in Iraq war contracting.Back in 2003, Sen. Collins ignored pleas from many--including Sen. And while the true cost of her inaction is hard to quantify, the BBC number gives us somewhere to start.Memo to the Maine press: Keeping your head down to protect your
Whenever I get my hands on an issue of Reader's Digest, one of the first things (actually it is the first thing I do!) I do is to go straight to the Laughter is the Best Medicine section. As you have read previously, I love the sounds of New Orleans Rhythm & blues and Swamp Pop. This is definitely Swamp Pop at its finest! Freddy Fender recorded his signature song, Wasted Days & Wasted Nights many times. This video, shared to me by Dave the Swinger is the very first release of the song from 1960 on the Duncan label. Enjoy this great sound!
The other night Zach and I were watching MTV’s Cribs out of lack of anything else to do. Yeah, I know - crap TV at its finest. I didn’t even LIKE most of the homes they showed on there because of the completely different taste in styles. After the first few houses came on, I [...]

Maldivians are witnessing a situation that probably citizens of no other state in the world have or would ever experience. Promotions of all sorts are being 'splashed' out by the President to whomever he likes in whatever manner he wishes. And all this, it is believed to be, in the expense of the public money.
As such, today Maldivians have been told that not less than 9 of his old and trusted
A report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has found that there is (gasp) waste in government spending.

According to a new audit from the Government Accountability Office, federal employees abused the privilege of government credit cards by charging up large tabs on personal items and gifts. They estimated that half of the purchases made on these cards, funded by your taxpayers dollars, qualified as abuses, such as buying themselves iPods. Here are some examples of this abuse:A longtime employee of the U.S. Forest Service in Oregon, Debra K. Durfey, wrote convenience checks worth more than $640,000 from 2000 to 2006 to a live-in boyfriend, who used the money for gambling, car expenses and mortgage payments. At the U.S. Postal Service, an unidentified postmaster used his card to charge $1,100 over a 15-month period for "various online dating services" while he was under investigation for viewin
...When you sit and think about it, it's pretty sad that the Mets are paying over 20 million dollars this season for the contracts of Pedro Martinez & Orlando Hernandez, and neither of them can pitch. Now we have to rely on guys like Jorge Sosa, Nelson Figuerora and Brian Stokes to help us tread water until El Duque or Pedro are ready to come back. Can you imagine if we didn't get Johan and this happened? Maybe Omar should think a little more about the age restrictions of pitchers, and try to get a little younger in the rotation going forward. Trusting 2 key spots to pitchers over the age of 36 is always going to be a crap shoot.
Patrick Wintour sheds some light on Gordon Brown's recent shift towards a more Blairite reform agenda. As polls declined, it became evident that the legacy of Blair could not be abandoned and that his ideas of public sector might have been correct. Brown even became comfortable with academies, which he had previously opposed. This change was a result of Jeremy Heywood and Dan Corry canvassing cabinet opinion, with the former being a great influence on Brown's public policy. The response to this canvass was "unequivocal":Brown may have been right to emphasise change when he took over at No 10, but Labour could not afford to simply jettison Tony Blair's public sector reforms. This resulted in Brown's speech in January:In January, he gave an unambiguous pro-reform speech, saying: "We will rejec

The backlash from the Conservative-led campaign to fight the move to unitary councils is about to hit home. As we all now know the government went with Cheshire East and West instead of staying with what we have or moving to one Cheshire authority. The court action to try and block the move cost a few quid (around £150,000 according to Labour councillors), money from the borough's coffers that was promised to the Congleton-led challenge by CNBC leader Brian Silvester..Not wanting to miss out on an opportunity, Labour leader Steve Hogben had the following to say: "This has been a shocking waste of public money. It should have been spent on improving front line services or keeping council tax down, rather than wasting hard-earned taxpayers’ cash on a doomed kamikaze mission. The only peop

Spent a few hours at work in the office, picked up her kids I came home around 3 then 2 hours later she is picking us both up to have dinner at her house. Been along time since i’ve been over there but it was fun. I just wish we didn’t have to wake up early tomorrow. However tomorrow is our going out night. George Bush says the House of Representatives has wasted valuable time on a constant stream of investigations and the Senate has wasted valuable time on an endless series of failed votes to pull our troops out of Iraq. And yet there’s important work to be done on behalf of the American people. Like rubber stamping expanded wiretapping bills, fully funding an illegal war, cutting health care coverage for poor kids, and let's not forget the upcoming Patriot Act XVII, you know, the one that forces every American to stand naked outside their house once a week for full cavity searches in the name of protecting us from terrorists.read more | digg story
No doubt it is my own foolishness. My expectations are too high. When I blog, I use Yahoo Notepad to write the draft entries. That gives me portability, and access to the draft articles wherever I am. The idea that I can access my writing from literally anywhere in the world is amazing. Something wonderful provided for me by the computer.I was struggling with a particularly hard to write piece, where I was trying to take the reader backwards towards using first principles. Not easy to begin with, and even harder for a novice writer like myself. I was happy with what I had done. I probably would have posted it. After agonizing for a couple of hours, I hit the update button. Something I've done a million times before. This time though, because I had been logged in for so long, Yahoo Notepad decided to ask me to confirm my userid. The session had timed-out. Ok. No worries. This problem has caught me in the past, and in Firefox if I hit the back button, I can get back to the original scre
Another week, 3 days so far, working and sleeping. What is it all for? I’ll tell you what, the reason we do all these things:
For our loved ones. I work 5 days a week and anywhere up for 5 nights a week. All the money I earn goes towards rent (paying off my parents house slowly lol), taking my other half out (one day I’ll have enough to take her to Café Rouge) and going up the public house to drink with my close friends.
But in the end, all this work for a few hours happiness? Bit harsh but if we didn’t have to work the few hours would turn to a life time and you would get bored of it. I myself hate work but see the reasons for it, if I ever win the lottery then that’s when it gets fun….

At least I'd like to think that I'm wasting my time well, but the truth of the matter is that I have no idea what on earth goes on everyday. I rarely sit, unless it's at the computer a little here and a little there. By the end of the day, my legs are sore and I have a headache. I know I've been busy, but as I survey my home, it looks worse by the end of the day than it did at the beginning--which was pretty awful.Take now for instance. I've been sitting at my computer for 9 minutes. It's lunchtime so I need to get back up and feed the children, but I'm so tired! I've been working all morning and my house is still trashed. I finally feel like I should be able to take a little break, but now that I am I feel guilty I'm not doing something about this house. I think my magic snapping fingers are broken. Perhaps I need to close my eyes for an hour to get 'em fixed.
What am I up to? No updates for a week!
Extremely busy last week. Busy with personal life and busy with blogs. There were two Holy Communion Gathering to go last week — Monday and Thursday. There will be meeting again the next week.
Catechism Class
I had my own catechism class when I was young. Some of the teachings were changed over time, just like the receiving of Holy Communion. The catechism now are more interactive and I find it better than my time.
First Holy Communion
This year Ricsson is going to have his Holy Communion next month. Wearing white is not a compulsory now but it would be preferred. I need to shop for his Holy Communion clothes. There will be four four Holy Communion Gathering sessions. So far, two were attended and I had found it very useful. It not only reinforces what I had learned previously (which I had long forgotten) and it also enables the children to learn more about the church community and things like who is our neighbour.

In A Good Life Wasted the author Dave Ames recounts his last twenty years as a fishing guide in the trout fishing capital of the universe, Montana. It is every true fly fisherman's dream to be reincarnated as a Montana fly fishing guide. As Ames aptly puts it in the opening line of the book, "With all my fingers and all my splayed toes I still can't count the number of millionaires who have wished out loud that they could be me." They wouldn't wish it if they read on as Ames describes living in a rat infested trailer, bouncing checks and using a log in the great outdoors as a temporary outhouse until he can buy a toilet.Ames' career begins as a hydrologist for the federal government who one day goes "postal" by punching a clock - literally. He bluffs his way into a job as a fishing guide working for a local Blackfoot Native American known affectionately as Kingfish. He plods his was through his early guiding days and his life becomes entangled in a contradictory world of haves and ha

Most of us have a printer that, of course, uses cartridges to print. No big deal. Sooner or later, those cartridges get empty and utilized. This is amazing, but with current level of environment care and protection, most printer cartridges end up in landfill. The share of cartridges that are recycled or reused in a way, don’t even reach 50%, according to a new research done by InfoTrends.
The notorious “razor and blades” business model of printer makers suggests selling cheap hardware and making up on printer supplies. That has little to do with supporting environmental goals, since such approach generates more and more new toner and cartridges. On the other hand, original equipment manufacturers prohibit third parties re-manufacturers in every way from collecting, re-filling and recycling cartridges.
According to the InfoTrends research, gigantic amount of printer cartridges are used daily, and both original and third party manufacturers are eager to collect the largest amount o

I bought a domain name just for this blog, but it went to waste because I couldn't use it for my blog after all. So, I learned my lesson there. Hopefully, I won't repeat my mistake, and end up over buying domain names. I don't need anymore, I am having trouble trying to manage one or two of my blogs already, because this blogging thing is time consuming.
I've been reading a number of blog posts and websites offering tips for boosting blog traffic lately. These blog promotion gurus tend to offer similar advice, suggesting that the many overlapping techniques probably have a reasonable chance of success. Still, there is one common suggestion that I just can't figure out - increasing one's post frequency on the weekends. The rationale for this suggestion is quite clear. There tend to be fewer blog posts made on the weekends. Those of us looking to increase our traffic should take advantage of this by increasing our posting frequency on the weekends. Since there are fewer posts made overall on weekends, our weekend posts have a better chance of being noticed and thus bringing us traffic. My problem with this suggestion is that I am still not convinced that it works. I typically post 2-3 more often on weekends than I do during weekdays simply because I have more free time, but my traffic statistics reveal a consistent drop on the weekends.
I watched the circus that happened in Palestine sorry the Palestinian territories in Gaza as till now officially there is no Palestinian state recognized internationally or even nationally !! This is one hell of a show full of great surprises The biggest surprise of all wasn't the fall of the Fatah forces which are more than Hamas's in front of the Islamic militia , no I expected this and surely it wasn't the western and also Arabic rejection for Hamas taking over the rule in Gaza The biggest surprise of all for me is to find now today morning in the Dostor newspaper that Egypt was spending money on the Fatah forces, this is not America's money , no it is beside the American money , our own money was spent on Fatah's losers and they even couldn't stand in front of Hamas and escaped to the Egypt thanks to the Israeli Navy from Gaza !! Are we so damn rich to repeat the same old game of Gamal Abd El-Nasser to support losers here and there politically and militarily from own mon

Sometimes a bad movie isn't all that bad if, as part of its soundtrack, a song really makes it up for you.
I think that particularly applies to a movie I've seen lately. It's called Employee of the Month. It focuses on events that happen at a Costco-like store (and indeed filmed in a Costco store), where two co-workers, Zack (Dane Cook) and Vince (Dax Shepard), compete for the affection of the new cashier, Amy (Jessica Simpson). The script is very badly written, it's really neither a comedy nor a love story.
However, somewhere towards the end of the plot, a song got played that really caught my attention. Looking it up afterwards, it turns out to be one by a band I've never heard of called Highwater Rising. The song is called Wasted Days.
I dug up the whole Internet looking for this song but couldn't find it. So I looked up the song on Last.fm and requested it from some of the people who recently listened to it. Never thought it would work, but I got a me
Lindsay Lohan got completely wasted after just admitting she needs to return to rehab. It was only Saturday that Lindsay crashed her car into a tree from being high on cocaine, and she already got trashed again the next day.
According to In Touch, Lindsay is to check into Malibu’s Promises center, where Britney Spears was recently treated.
A source said, “She realizes it’s the right thing to do. She is going willingly.”
Why is she even allowed to be out partying? She’s a danger to society. I know being caught with a tiny amount of coke is a felony and will get you tossed in the slammer. I’m sure she had quite a bit in her car.

“Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, ‘Why this waste of perfume? It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages and the money given to the poor.’ And they rebuked her harshly.”
Mark 14:4-5 (NIV)
I really don’t understand the attitude of these guys, Lord. It’s not as if they were falling over themselves to give to the poor normally. In fact, if Mary had given the bottle of perfume to them instead of pouring it on You, I’m betting they would have been hunting for an excuse to not spend it on the poor.
What got up their noses was that someone was lavish in her expression of love toward You - far more lavish than they were prepared to be.
Why is it that some people consider anything that is given unreservedly to You to be wasted? They think that a life spent in Your service is wasted; that time spent worshipping You is wasted; that money given for Your kingdom is wasted.
Yet, as she did when she sat at Your f
I was somewhat astounded to see a policeman drive past me today in a brand spanking new 07 reg BMW X5. Police forces across the country are regularly complaining that budget constraints prevent them from doing their jobs and providing necessary resources yet Sussex Police have managed to add yet another luxury vehicle to their ever expanding fleet of luxury Sports saloons/estates and SUV's. An X5 is not a cheap vehicle in standard road trim and I shudder to think how much public money has been wasted on purchasing this bazza'd up Bavarian Land Rover rip-off. I suspect that it isn't the only X5 to have been added to the Sussex Police fleet either. I can understand that Sussex Police will have a need for a certain amount of off-road vehicles but they are already in possession of Land Rover Defenders for that kind of work. A BMW X5 is a symbol of how much money you've got to waste on a vehicle to go posing around the town, and Sussex Police don't have any money to waste.I think it is

On Wednesday's edition of the Late Show with David Letterman, Arizona Republican and future presidential candidate John McCain stated, "Americans are very frustrated, and they have every right to be. We've wasted a lot of our most precious treasure, which is American lives." McCain's use of the word 'wasted' recalled a similar statement from Illinois Democrat and declared presidential candidate Barack Obama, who in a speech said, "We ended up launching a war that should have never been authorized, and should have never been waged, and on which we've now spent $400 billion, and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted." The uproar surrounding both comments was immediate. "Senator McCain should apologize immediately for his callous comments," opined Karen Finney, a DNC spokeswoman. After taking "heat" from both Democratic and Republican elements, Obama recanted by stating, "Their sacrifices are never wasted." McCain quickly offered his own mea culpa. "I sho
In a measure of just how absurd the political ballet of the Presidential bid has gotten, John McCain announced that he will announce that he is making a run for the White House in April. Someone really needs to tell him that announcement announcements tend to ruin the surprise. Minutes after laying out his plans to come out of the closet on his Presidential ambitions, John McCain said he felt American lives are being wasted in Iraq. Democrats are seizing this as an opportunity to criticize McCain, demanding he apologize just as Barack Obama did, after Obama made similar comments.
The comment in general and the use of the word “wasted” in particular was either very fortunate or very savvy, as the entire incident plays out brilliantly for McCain. First, he comes off as critical of the war, which better positions down the road. Second, using the same language as Obama gets Democrats to do their part by criticizing McCain, which only helps McCain going into the primaries.
Here is a video of Barack Obama’s speech saying that the lives of Americans are being wasted in Iraq. He has already apologized for this comment, saying it was “a slip of the tongue,” and that he was trying to criticize the leadership (Bush Administration) of the war in Iraq. Anyways, here is the clip that has caused the confusion:
Barack Obama, 2008 Democratic presidential candidate, is now apologizing for comments he made during a speech in which he said the lives of the US troops that have died during the war in Iraq were “wasted.” The speech was held in Iowa, and during the speech Obama said “We now have spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted.”
He has now apologized, saying that his comments were “a slip of the tongue.” He has also apologized again in New Hampshire on Monday, telling reporters his intent was to criticize the leadership in the war, not of those who are serving in the US military. Obama said “even as I said it, I realized I had misspoken,” and that “it is not at all what I intended to say, and I would absolutely apologize if any felt that in some ways it had diminished the enormous courage and sacrifice that they’d shown.”
It seems that Barack Obama is having no problems
[Wednesday, 07 February, 2007]In the morning when I decided to take my own sweet time and eat before going down to Boon Lay Drive to meet up with Jolee, I received a call from Francis at 11am. He told me Jolee would be going down only at 2pm and he wanted me to go and take the keys from James at the office. At first I thought Jolee was doing it on purpose but she was actually sick. I knew well I needed not rush myself like usual. But when I got to the office, Francis seemed shocked and told me James was at the show flat already. Then he told me that there were many walk-in clients and James could not handle it.At first I felt heaven was unfair but later, I realised it was a crap. I would not rush down specially to get those free money and I felt it was quite an insult to treat me like a fool. Instead of taking train down there, I took a longer way to take the bus to office and then had to walk a much longer distance to the MRT station, which was so stupid.James passed the keys over to m

Mike Tyson, so much talent as boxer, became rich, then beyond hope. He was once probably the most menacing man on the planet, and now in middle age, a sad case of a life wasted.Well, he was arrested. Mike Tyson faces serious drug charges after being arrested in Buckeye, Arizona with two bags of white powder that he said was cocaine. According to the police, he said he was "an addict and had a problem." For everything, he seems to be man with a good amount of intelligence, but he's also got severe mental problems. I saw the Buster Douglas Fight with my uncle on TV when I was 10 where he got knocked out and his legend died. He predicted at the time Tyson was done.He was right. If he's indeed sick, he needs help and to be away from society for a while. At this point, he may be too far gone. What a tragedy.Link: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2713735
Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine @ allmusic.com
As anybody who follows country music knows, Brad Paisley is acknowledged among audiences and critics alike as the new traditionalist standard-bearer for the 2000s -- the new guy that not only keeps the fire burning, but also rakes in the cash, having number one hits along with good reviews. He's not big and brassy like Toby Keith; he's the heir to
Britons need to take steps to make sure that they are saving their money in a cost-effective manner, it has been claimed.
According to Nationwide, a failure to invest the full amount into individual saving accounts (Isas) ahead of the end of the tax year will see consumers pay millions of pounds in unnecessary tax repayments. [...]
The Evening Leader (Wrexham, Wales, UK) reports that a road safety-oriented theatrical production called "Wasted" has kids swearing off cars. After watching the multi-media production designed to warn children about the dangers of drug driving at the Ysgol Clywedog school, "One pupil was heard to say 'I'm not getting into anybody's car again', a statement many others echoed." In a telephone interview with TTAC [below], the head of the Walking Forward Theater Company, says the play's message is not anti-car or anti-drugs. "We're trying to get people to use cars in a responsible way," asserts Gavin Payne. "and indeed, if they have to use drugs, [to] use drugs in a responsible way and not mix the two." Payne's Walking Forward theater company claims to have exposed millions of UK theater goers to road safety dramas, including thousands of British soldiers, and welcomes any U.S. or Canadian campaigners interested in setting-up a
