Bolton candidato à despromoção recebe em casa o Arsenal ainda a lutar pelo titulo.
São equipas com objectivos distintos e para o Bolton, apesar da necessidade, não é um dos jogos em que parece possível salvarem o campeonato.

Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore.
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door -
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above [...]
In recent weeks, Liverpool have been unstoppable - winning matches and with goals galore. An uncertain future for their manager, Rafael Benitez, had no bearing on their resurgence.
Without much fanfare, Liverpool sneaked up behind the leaders with their fifth successive Premier League win. Bolton Wanderers were whipped 4-0 on Sunday with captain Steven Gerrard scoring one goal and contributed to the other three.
This result elevated Liverpool to third spot on 30 points, behind Chelsea and Arsenal but level with Manchester United, who host Fulham on Monday, and Manchester City, who drew 1-1 at Wigan Athletic on Saturday. It is getting crowded at the top, dropping a match can make an immediate difference as the team tumbles several ranks down the table.
Sami Hyypia headed in the opener from a Gerrard cross after 18 minutes and the midfielder supplied the second with a through ball for Fernando Torres who scored with a deft chip on the stroke of the half time.

Arsenal v Bolton has added spice this weekend following the departure of Sammy Lee by mutual consent this Wednesday morning. This follows hot on the heels of Gary Speed quitting as a coach. Kevin Nolan was dropped along with Speed reportedly only 2 hours before the kick off Chelsea. There was clearly disharmony in the dressing room. Bolton with only one victory, six losses and two draws languish at the foot of the Premiership.
Archie Knox a 60yr old scot has been put in temporary charge. Knox who was originally appointed as coaching coordinator in August 2007 after a spell of coaching the Scotland under 21 team, faces the daunting fixture which will be under the media spotlight.
This fixture is by no means a certain victory, as we have players returning tired from international duty, and of course the Bolton squad will now be playing for their futures, either under the appointee or another club.
Arsenal will be awaiting the final medical report on Robin Van Persie, following

English Premiership club Bolton Wanderes signs defender Jlloyd Samuel 26-year-old for free transfer. Samuel previously plays for other premiership club Aston Villa. “I was at Villa for 10 years and when you have been at a place for so long you become part of the furniture,” he said. “I felt like I needed a change and I’m sure that by coming up to Bolton I will get myself playing again. Bolton is the club to get my career back on track.”
Samuel struggled for first-team this season. Samuel previously hinted on his personal website that his time with Aston Villa could be about to come to an end due to lack of recent opportunities. Samuel has been a professional at Villa for the last decade but the signing of Wilfred Bouma and various injury problems have limited his match action over the last two years.
Jlloyd Samuel will sign a four year contract with Bolton Wanderers begin on 1 July 2007.

Busy day for the London Ambulance Service in N5 yesterday. There were scores of people fainting after two Arsenal midfielders scored in one game. Three much needed points all but secured fourth and put pressure back on Liverpool, recreating a race for third place. A win on Tuesday should nail ECL Qualification, a gap of eight points surely being too much at this stage of the season. A second win in two games will also put the team in a good frame of mind ahead of next Saturday’s lunchtime visit to White Hart Lane. But that is getting ahead of myself; all I want to do now is enjoy the feeling of relief that these three points have brought.
A familiar pattern to the game; a goal down at home, requiring an Arsenal fightback. Which this time duly arrived before half-time. Anelka’s goal was conceded through sloppy defending. A lofted free-kick found the head of an unmarked Nolan whose effor
So, the mighty Arsenal finally ended their run of, well let’s face it, poor form with a win against our new so called “Bogey Team,” Bolton. I’ll openly admit that I was worried at the prospect of playing Bolton in our current position – needing to claim 4th place while at the same time dragging ourselves out of the slump we’ve been in.
Anelka put the visitors ahead, it always makes me think what would have been when an ex-player scores against us. What if Wenger could have sorted out Anelka’s attitude, would he have progressed to a level that he showed he was capable of. He still shows glimpses but he’s nowhere near the player now that he could have been. What heights could we have reached if we’d had him in rotation with Henry and Bergkamp (The King of Highbury). Anyway, Anelka scored and I was thinking bollox and writing off the whole season. Over dramatic I know but throughout the Wenger era we haven’t had as much to worry

For the 1st time in years and for the 1st time in his life, my son and I head off to a test match. Not all of it, mind you, just the morning session of the 4th day of the 1st test between South Africa and India in Johannesburg. Remember, please, that South Africa are fighting a lost cause. Five wickets down, needing 300-odd. And this is after making just 84 in thier 1st innings a couple of days ago. After parking my car very very far away from the ground; although I must say that it wasn't as far as it could have been as there weren't many people going to watch the cricket on that day; we walked down to the stadium. No que for tickets and I asked the lady if I could just walk in. Surely there would be no charge for us. After all, South Africa needed all of the support they could get. Also, the Wanderers is massively sponsored by LIberty Life and Highveld et al."Nope." Said the lovely lady behind the ticket desk, "Full price today."I couldn't believe my ears. If we were lucky, we woul
