I don't know what it has been like where you live , but here summer has been a bit of a wash out (again) and many plants and insects have suffered. Whilst some have suffered others have done really well . The rose hips are abundant this year and give a nice dash of colour. So to are the haws on the hawthorn trees, usually when this happens it is a sign that we are in for a cold winter. One thing I

Dan plays a song for his old Mam and, in a funny sort of a way, I think we look quite alike. He might disagree and obviously I am not as tall and skinny as the boy, nor do I have curly hair but, those minor differences aside, we are alike! While Dan was down we went for lots of lovely walks in this most beautiful part of the world where, oh lucky lucky me, I am fortunate enough to live. And HBB ma
Four baskets of laundry folded while watching Bridget Jones Diary. Not bad. An accomplishment of sort actually. I can hear my self talking with a "British accent" as I am typing this. I made a trip down to see Heather and the rest of her team down at Wiggly Wigglers yesterday. I did however manage to combine the trip down with an excuse to have a ride out on my new motorbike. It was so much quicker and more fuel efficient than going by car and much more fun. After a cup of tea and a slice of cake with Heather I went for a wander in the garden. Psychedelic instrumentals start off my Friday night dance with a heavy slapping joy. The instruments move quicky up and down the rings of Saturn with a happiness that prepares my feet for an eartaste festival of solar system dimensions wandering yet never lost. Good intentions turned to tragedy Wednesday when the Slope Oak Alzheimer's Association's first annual Memory Walk resulted in six of the participants wandering away from the Riverside Marina parking lot into nearby Jayne's Slough, where they sank to their deaths in thick, sloppy, black mud. Several other participants got into other people's cars by mistake and had to be shot with tranquilize

A few months ago, Behance teamed up with Los Angeles-based production company, Wander, to document the true meaning of artistic collaboration. The premise was simple: four artists, five hours, a blank canvas and the expanse of individual creativity; the outcome was an original piece of artwork, accompanied by an invaluable and unforgettable experience for all those involved. We sat down with Wander's Aaron Weber and Joshua Clark and two of the artists involved -- Justine Serebrin and Haley Ann Robinson -- to talk about the project and what they took away from it.
My mind prefers to wander
To somewhere else instead
When things become too tricky
I take off in my head
To safer climes and places
Where everything is great
The problems seem to disappear
There’s nothing on my plate.
Sadly,I can’t stay there
Reality has returned
I’m back to where I was before
But one thing I have learned
Escape is only temporal
He wants me to be [...]
Antequera, an elegant and very Spanish country town towards the North of Málaga province, is a captivating blend of history, tradition, culture and religious faith. As a local resident and frequent visitor from Campillos by bus, I can only venture to give my own impressions of Antequera, and what it means to me. Having said [...]
Whatever works for you. Walking is a classic case, ending in you asking how did I not lose weight?. Unfortunately it won't prevent an early nail in the coffin either. Building muscles is out of the picture. In fact walking really doesn't much. Maintain a moderate state of fitness. Yes.When your unfit it is hard to find the motivation to do activities requiring moderate fitness. Making weight loss another mile further into the horizon. "I work 37 miles from home, you fricken expect me to walk?" No need to get hissy here. Drive 36 miles (and walk the last mile). "I don't have the time!" Gosh, there's just no pleasing you. Prioritise! If you can pickup a Coke or expresso on the way, you can make time for exercise. Might pay to try something low-caffiene as well.RunJumpScooterSwalomCycleRoller
Buckling my seatbelt on the flight from New York to London, it finally struck me that I was going on this trip to Europe alone.
Call it a delayed reaction, but after months and months of planning my trip, the fear and trepidation of traipsing across a continent all by myself occurred only at the last minute.
Although this solo European adventure was not my first excursion outside my home country, it was the first time I would be traveling alone.
Why did I decide to go solo? During my previous travels, there was always a part of me that longed to separate from the group. I wanted to take in every sight, sound and smell like a greedy child. With a travel buddy, the journey felt too safe. I felt as if I had cheated and taken the sterile route.
The goal for this trip was to escape the four corners of my cubicle, the frightening comfortability of a daily routine, and my approaching quarter-life crisis. I thought of the comments and protests made by my family and friends, who told me

I am crazy crazy crazy this week (ok this whole semester) with school. I can’t believe I thought that it would be a good idea to combine working FT, a family, 10 college credits and 60 hours of classroom observation. I must’ve been momentarily insane.
Anyhow, this week, just for something completely

When Ajay gave us tickets to the Wanders show at the PAGCOR Airport Casino, she just said “it’s a Chinese acrobat show.” The venue is almost 2 hours away from where we live, but Heinji and I still went, and damn, we’re glad we did!
