BNP to sue South Wales Police
I do wish New Labour hadn't given the police forces of this country such a burden with their political correctness nonsense and their Stasi-like approach to dealing with people they can't abide. Instead of debating with the BNP or tackling head-on the political weaknesses of their case, New Labour acts like a grumpy dandy caught out with a dirty shirt. It's all humbug and high-falluting posturing. The BNP is a legal political party. They registered accordingly with the Electoral Commission set up by Blair. But instead of countering BNP policies, New Labour gets the police to round up their canvassers and chuck them in jail for a couple of hours. Now we arrive at the ridiculous position of five leafleters suing the South Wales Police. No caravans in Malaysia but plenty in North Wales
Folks!I have been to various places outside of Malaysia and seen a lot of new things. One thing that amazed me most is that we have a lot of people going on caravan vacations in the United States and United Kingdom. I wish one day we Malaysians could do caravan vacations as well here in Malaysia but so far to the best of my knowledge, we did not even have a place where we can buy caravans in the first place! Not even in Singapore!Seriously folks, we are missing a lot of fun. I have seen and met a few caravan vacationers in the past and I can see that they had a lot of fun since they were able to bring their whole family on their trip.Anyhow, I do know that caravan vacations are quite popular in the northern parts of Wales. It should since North Wales has a lot of breath taking sceneries. Y

a taste of wales. at costco?
No, sillies, this isn't a tale of eating a whale! It's true. Most Angeleno's don't know where Wales is, and they sure as hell don't know that one of their national foods is the cockle. Wales is one of the four countries (yes, it's its own country), that comprises the United Kingdom - that land across the pond we often assume falls under the blanket "England" that most certainly does not. A country rich in history and tradition, bordered primarily by the Irish Sea with lush hills and valleys, craggy cliffs, and patches of desolate coal-like terrain, it's no surprise many of the local foods come from the sea.So, what on earth is a cockle? It's a lot like a small clam. Brits eat them as snack food, served outside of their pale orange and green hued shells in paper cones with a bit of vinegar. You can even get jars of them pickled at local groceries. The Welsh do the same, but it's more common to see them served as you would other bi-valves for dinner, and more often, on a breakfas

The common song was that there is nothing to do there besides a visit to the castle, which compared to other European castles … ummm … seemed to validate their argument. Ever since my sister and her hubby visited over a year ago, I’d been itching to go check it out myself. “But why?!” she asks. I roll my eyes nonchalantly. I refuse to believe it is that mundane. We were there in 2003 and my husband and I actually managed to make an unplanned visit to Wales. I was kind of apprehensive because we had no advanced hotel accommodations reservation but my husband was so insistent that we should go, because we're already almost there. So, we had to check online where we can avail of Last Minute Hotel Rooms. Paranoid as I am, I didn't want to book online, although, it would have been perfect, instead we called in our reservation and everything was arranged for perfectly. I'm glad I gave in because it was such a very nice experience. The place is clean and beautiful. We stayed at the Barcelo Cardiff Angel Hotel, a Victorian Hotel that oozes with charm

How Wales Could Win The World Cup in 2011
What a final. The Rugby World Cup final was a fascinating game of Rugby, with South Africa beating England 15-6. It was perfect for both teams, South Africa claiming a trophy they so desperately wanted, and England leaving the tournament with their heads held high. As a Welshman, the World Cup was a huge disappointment, realistically, we expected quarter finals, or semis at a push. To be eliminated in the group stages was nothing short of disasterous for a nation that Rugby is so important for. It’d be like Brazil failing to reach a World Cup, it’s just painful. So, what can Wales learn from this? Well, if Wales are going to have a decent shout in the next World Cup, they’re going to have to change their setup. They may even have to go through a few years transition, but to become a dominant force in Rugby, a few things need to change. Here’s 3 of them. By: simonkit The route along the A4086, particularly between the two villages of Capel Curig and Llanberis has an abundance of opportunities for the landscape photographer, it is also the route most first time visitors to Snowdonia take as it passes through some stunning scenery. Capel Curig, surrounded on all sides by impressive scenery, is a popular place from which to climb the many mountains in the area and provides an excellent base if wishing to spend some time discovering the mountain summits. The Afon Llugwy river also runs through the centre, providing the spectacle of the Pont Cyfyng falls, particularly photogenic after a period of rainfall. On leaving Capel Curing via the A4086 towards Llanberis, the valley widens and the lakes of “Llynnau Mymbyr” appear in view surrounded on one side by the solitary Moel Siabod and the Glyderau mountains on the other. More distant can be seen the highest mountain in Wales, Snowdon. These lakes provide a good subject, particularly with th

      Wales 42 - Canada 17
At half time it looked like the second upset of the tournament was in prospect, Canada having put two superb tries past Wales in the first half to go into the break leading 9-12. The first was a pushover try, and the second came from an interception when Wales had looked almost certain to cross the Canucks' line. Craig Culpan ran virtually the full length of the pitch to touch down - it was excellent. Four minutes into the second half and a sustained period of pressure saw Canada's captain Morgan Williams touching down to stretch the lead by another five points.Sadly for the Canucks, Wales then decided to play. They really redeemed themselves in the second half with a series of good tries, ultimately taking advantage of the Canadians flagging badly as they approached the final quarter. The final scoreline seems a bit harsh on Canada really, given how well they played, but that's the way it goes I guess.South Africa vs Samoa is kicking off in five minutes. This should be good.

NHS Trusts paid out over £53m in the last financial year, compared to just over £15.5m the year before. That this part of the NHS is making so many very expensive mistakes probably doesn't come as much of a surprise to anyone. I do find comments made by Dr Tony Calland, chairman of the British Medical Association’s Welsh Council to be a little surprising, though. He said: "It is disappointing that clinical negligence claims have risen, but this shows that both management and professionals have to work even harder to ensure that clinical practice is up to standard and that management systems are designed to ameliorate or reduce the incidence of negligence claims."Apart from a brief nod in the direction of clinical practice - surely the single most important part of any Trust's function - he refers largely to "negligence claims", his disappointment that t

A cracking week in New Quay, Wales
Hopefully, you won't have noticed that I've been away. So a massive thank you to my mate Paul who has uploaded posts over the last week. Seamless. There are loads of photos in the "to be published" folder and the whole idea of the blog is to be current and up-to-date. So cheers Paul. Normal service will resume after the weekend, but until then I'll send you to sleep with a few holiday snaps from New Quay, half way down Cardigan Bay in Wales. A gorgeous spot, great weather believe it or not, loads for the kids to do and a few great restaurants for Mr and Mrs Crewe blog to enjoy by the seaside. BTW, not to be confused with Newquay in Cornwall where a fire destroyed a hotel last night and, sadly, took a life. Several people are still unaccounted for. Our thoughts are with the families concerned...

Wales vs Argentina - score, result & mini review
Wales 27 Argentina 20 What started off as a lackluster friendly, turned into a hard fought nailbiter at the Millenium Stadium today. At half time, it looked like Wales were running away with it up 27-10. The visitors seemed to be losing all shape and discipline under pressure, almost like we were back in the days when the Pumas were an amateur side. You figured Wales were going to at least... ....follow link for more

England vs Wales - analysis for Australia
So what does this result mean for the Wallabies, who will definitely meet Wales and probably England in the early stages of the World Cup? Unfortunately, despite the scoreline, there’s probably not too much you can take for the Welsh match-up as they were missing at least five big names and will no doubt get their tails up with a vocal crowd behind them in Cardiff. Thrashings like this won’t help their confidence or momentum though. The bigger message out of this match came from England. They have unashamedly shown their 10-man World Cup game plan, and like it or not, it’s the right one for them. This pack can stand toe to toe, if not dominate, any other and as long as Wilkinson is fit, his boot will punish all comers. Those memories of Baxter and Dunning capitulating to uncontested scrums two years ago could easily pay an unwelcome visit again. The England eight on Saturday was 4 stones heavier (at 144 stones) than the one that won the world cup — Australia this year have been

England vs Wales - result and score
England 62Wales 5So you turn up to 'fortress' Twickenham with a half strength side, but you figure it's a baking hot day and hey, you're Wales, you can probably run the ball around a bit to hold up your end. Just how wrong can you get.England today displayed exactly how they're going to defend their title. The England pack ripped the Welsh side's limbs off and then repeatedly sodomised them with the bloody stumps. No, actually, it was more brutal than that.To give you an idea of England's forward supremacy; the first 50 points came from tries scored through numbers 1-9. The lion's share of those tries coming from driving rucks and mauls following attacking line-outs or scrums in the Welsh 22. Only in the 77th minute were the girls out wide allowed to run in a couple of tries, with Robinson and Tait burning off a destroyed Welsh defence. The armchair ride that the pack created made a couple of heros. The rookie 8 Nick Easter deservedly picked up 4 tries (to the chagrin of a Dalla

England - Wales World Cup warm up preview and teams
Considering it's going to be getting towards 30C at Twickenham, it doesn't exactly feel like a classic rugby day. Nevertheless, it's going to be a fascinating game, not just for England and Wales fans, but also for Wallabies supporters as Australia could face both of these teams early in important world cup 2007 clashes. For those who don't know, Wales are the serious competition in the pool stage for the Wallabies. The game will be played in Cardiff (I'll be there!) and as such will be no easy game against a full strength Wales team with very vocal support. The last time the Wallabies played there was thrilling draw, with Latham's dream solo try an indelible memory of the match. The importance of this World Cup pool match is that the losers most likely play the winners of South Africa vs England . Perceived wisdom is that South Africa are the danger men to avoid, but this England squad has the talent to beat anyone, the question being whether they find the right combinations in ti

As England Goes Smokefree, Wales Achieves 99% Compliance
As England goes smoke free, the first figures on compliance with the ban in Wales have been revealed. The Welsh Assembly Government figures show that local authorities in Wales have reported that 99 per cent of businesses and vehicles inspected during April complied with the smoke-free requirements of the legislation. The figures up to the end of April also show that no fixed penalties have been issued. The Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Jewell, said that the figures show the hard work by the Assembly Government and local authorities to raise awareness of the ban has paid off.Dr Jewell said: The introduction of the ban in Wales has gone smoothly and anecdotal evidence from licensees suggests that, far from having a negative impact on sales, the initial response to the ban has been that trade has been busier. According to research carried out by Beaufort, public support has risen from 71 per cent in March 2006 to 80 per cent in May 2007. We expect compliance levels to remain close to

      Spook Hill, Lake Wales, Florida
If you ever are in Central Florida and want to see one of the local attractions you need to see Spook Hill. Spook Hill is located in Lake Wales, Florida and is just a short drive from the Disney area. There is even a story that explains the mysterious phenomena. This is the story posted on the sign right next to the hill. “Many years ago an Indian village on Lake Wales was plagued by raids of a huge gator. The Chief, a great warrior, killed the gator in a battle that created a small lake. The chief was buried on the north side. Pioneer mail riders first discovered their horses laboring down hill, thus naming it “Spook Hill.” When the road was paved, cars coasted up hill. Is this the gator seeking revenge, or the chief still trying to protect his land?” I have traveled quite a bit and I have seen quite a few versions of Spook Hill. There is the Magic Hill, Booger Hill, Acid Hill and countless others. They are all gravity hills and I think many have a superna

He often posts very good photos of the wilderness and gives interesting information about it. A main part of the site is walking, which is very important to us if we want to find good yamadori. Coincidentally (or not) it belongs to my uncle. Check it out!

Second test vs Wales - wrap up
Palu on the rampage. Photo from Rugbyheaven.com.auA tale of two halves. Australia 31 - Wales 0In the interest of sanity I've managed to erase almost all memory of the first half of this test from my mind, making a critique of those 40 minutes pretty difficult. Night-sweat inducing flash backs include a litany of errors and squandered half chances from both sides. I can confirm that Australia finished this abomination six points ahead. The memory fully kicks in at the start of the second half with Gregan taking over the half-back position from Giteau, allowing Australia's best inside centre back to his favoured position. An instant turn around. Gregan's faster and more accurate pass gave Larkham the time to unleash the wider backs and the impressive Palu who never failed to break the gain line.Interestingly, Australia's three tries were scored, if not manufactured, by relative newcomers Ioane, Mitchell and Huxley. All of these trialists and stand-ins showed pace, skill and good tacti

The Prince of Wales: A Taste of England in the Heart of Spanish St. Augustine, Florida
It has been years since I have had a good Sticky Toffee Pudding. Honestly I have only had it 3 times prior– once in Ireland, once in Scotland, once in New York City. Do you know how hard it is to find it in America? Yes, yes you can get it in a can from Heinz, but is that good sticky toffee pudding? I don’t know, I don’t think I have ever had it, unless it was served to me in one of these places. God forbid. But in just those three occasions it has become my favorite dessert. I don’t like toffee in general, so I probably never would have had it if I ordered it from a menu. But once, I was in a restaurant and I saw a server walk by with this beautiful shining pudding, plated on top of a pile of silken vanilla custard the smell was out of this world! I decided right then and there I wanted it! Sticky Toffee Pudding despite its name does not taste like toffee. It tastes almost like a spice cake, and since that first time I have been hooked. As I have a sixth sense for finding

      Accident in Wales
This is a short article about the accident that I had on 30th December 2006.The morning started of great, with my (now ex)girlfriend and I setting off to Wales to join up with some friends. Our plan was to see the New Year in with some healthy exercise in the Welsh hills and a romantic hotel for the evenings.Everything went well until we arrived in Wales to be greeted with some heavy rain - so after supping a warm cup of coffee in the local ASDA Walmart and the weather brightening up, we decided to take a walk over the local hills of Blaina near Abergavenny. The first couple of hours were great but the weather soon turned in again - and the best option for us was to take a shortcut down a steep footpath back to the foot of the hills. This is where things took a turn for the worse. At some point on our descent, I lost my footing a began to tumble (approximately for 50ft), and then unable to stop, fell over the edge of Blaina Quarry and free fell a further 40ft before landing on my back.At
