Everyone’s had a classic Waldorf salad right? Sliced or julienned apples, celery, walnuts and mayonnaise? Wikipedia says the Waldorf salad dates back to 1893 and was first served at The Waldorf Hotel (later the Waldorf-Astoria of many-movie fame). It’s sweet and tangy and crunchy. Perfect for a summer BBQ, you can make it a few hours in advance and best of all, you only need four ingredients.
I love this look that Blair is rocking during season 2 of Gossip Girl. It is a bit more casual than the typical outfits that we usually see on Blair. My latest guilty pleasure is watching Gossip Girl on the CW. It's a silly little show based in New York's upper East side with a bunch of spoiled rich prep school kids having a drama filled time. They drink, they party, they sleep with their best friend boyfriends -- it's pretty much a trashy good time. All of those good times aside, the best part of the show is the fashion -- hands down.Blair Waldorf is my favorite character, not only is she a super-bitch but she has the best style on the show (in my opinion). Her preppy pulled together look is one to be envied. Her hair is always perfect and pulled back with a headband and her prep school clothes are just funky enough. This look here includes a navy blue patent trench from Tory Burch (which is on sale now), a great little tote by Be&D, red tights that you can pick up at Target for less than $6.00, boots by Sam Edelman (I just bought them online last night), and a red headband that you get practically anywhere ... but
Throwdown on Thanksgiving.
Serena and Blair have an argument about Chuck. Serena found out that Blair and Chuck slept together (twice) and an argument ensued. Blair uninvites Serena from Thanksgiving.

Of course, Waldorf Designs aren’t really pieces of fiction like the show. They’re the real life creations of designer Abigail Lorick, of Lorick New York. I had the opportunity to chat with Abigail about her start in the fashion business, her collection and Gossip Girl… and here’s my upfront confession. I totally expected a fashion diva. My boss took me to lunch at Oscar's Oscar's for a break from the heat (our office had no air conditioning as a result of the steam pipe explosion on 43rd Street). They do a good job maintaining a cool temperature without being freezing like most air conditioned restaurants.Each table is given a basket of fresh breads, a raisin fennel, a cheese topped, and regular French. We split a crab cake appetizer which was good because it was mostly crab but had a weird choice of condiments. A spicy barbecue was smeared across the plate. A blob of a ketchup mayo mix sat on the side. A small clump of guacamole was on top. The guacamole worked for me and the other 2 sauces didn't.I ordered the Zuppa di Pesce and Roger had the Grilled Rare Yellow Fin Tuna Panini.
