How would that work? If we no longer used politicians to make decisions, but instead put every question and issue to a vote, in which everybody participated, would it make things better?I think having people specialize in issues and ideas is a good thing, and works, because it makes them much more prepared to decide things for the future. They have the experience, and can put that to use in every question they address. When the majority votes on an issue, they vote on what they know, what they've seen or heard. It's more difficult to become genuinely informed when you rely mostly on the news and word of mouth. Rumors can develop, secret agendas can skew the facts, and the truth can be lost in the shuffle. The crowds went wild last night for Zac Efron and the cast of High School Musical 2 as the Teen Choice Awards took over LA.
As the cast from High School Musical accepted their first award for Choice TV Movie Zac said that “High School Musical started two years ago and the only reason we’re up here today is because of you guys, thank you very much!”
Zac was also voted Choice Hottie, along with Jessica Alba who joked, “I was pigeontoed, I was cross-eyed, I sucked my thumb. Look at me now! … And I get to stand next to gorgeous boys like this one.”
Zac’s co star Vanessa Hudgens was also crowned Choice Music Breakout Female Artist.

Stop by An Island Review where I’ve reviewed a really great book called Fathering Your School Aged Child (3 to 9 years old).
I went to watch the long-awaited Simpsons Movie last weekend and to be fair it was worth the wait. Packed with laughs and family fun the film has already been voted as one of the best films of all time.
Although we didn’t get to see more of the film set in Springfield and many of the signature characters weren’t in the movie I don’t think it seems to matter. Films like this instantly have a built in fan boy audience to immediately vote the movie into the Internet Movie Database top 250 movies of all time list.
Over time, however, as more people vote the movie generally falls further and further down the list. The Simpsons debuted at a respectable #33, but has since fallen to an 8.3 rating and ranked at #139th best movie of all time. That’s higher than classics such as Die Hard, Toy Story, The Princess Bride, The Graduate, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Trainspotting.
