Back on August 28th, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin granted a 30-minute interview to CNN where the domestically popular Putin was asked very tough and direct questions from CNN’s Matthew Chance. Vladimir Putin responded surprisingly sensibly to the questions (he looked more like a statesman than John McCain, Sarah Palin, or President Bush) and [...]

In the newest installment of U.S. liberty deprivation chronicles, we learn that the fearless Bush-bot police state goon, Department of Homeland (in)Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, is scoffing at our elected congressional leaders who want to protect the U.S. Constitution and our fundamental right to privacy. If you need a source, here it is.

Few people had heard of former KGB officer Vladimir Putin when he became prime minister in 1999. But with his taciturn, slightly intimidating face, one thing seemed certain: He didn’t look like a comedian. While “fun” is not a word widely associated with Putin, his eight-year run as Russia’s second president has seen its share of the absurd.“Who is Mr. Putin?” a journalist asked in 2000. Since no one knew for sure, they made up the answers.Putin was depicted as James Bond with a heart, the red-blooded leader of a G8 country who bites Shamil Basayev to death in the 2002 novel “President” by Latvian author Alexander Olbik. In the novel, a badly wounded Putin knocks Basayev to the ground and sinks his teeth into his throat. “‘It seems I have the grip of a bulldog,’ was th
I have mentioned before my odd (and embarrassing) dreams about hot movie stars wanting to date me. Well, now it’s gone to a whole new level. Last night I dreamed that Vladimir Putin wanted to date me. Do I think about Putin in my daily life? Almost never. Do I think he’s hot? Never really [...]
Power is sexy. Just ask Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A Moscow newspaper reported that the Russian president has left his 50-year-old wife, Ludmilla, in favor of a 24-year-old gymnast, Alina Kabaeva.

As you may have seen in the tabloids or across the bottom news ticker on one of the cable news channels, Russian President Vladimir Putin recently divorced his wife after 25 years and two children. Well, it’s coming across the gossip blogs today that the mastermind behind Russia’s re-emergence as a world power is [...]
Mr Putin, what do you see in this nubile 24-year-old rhythmic gymnast? This is the kind of question Mrs Merton might ask: 'So, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, what do you see in a 24-year-old, sensationally beautiful gymnast with a penchant for posing semi-naked that you don't see in your lovely, middle-aged, matronly wife Ludmilla. It is also the kind of question that hardly needs answering for the millions who have tuned in to the YouTube film of Alina Kabaeva performing a decidedly provocative gymnastic routine. Just good friends? Russian president Vladimir Putin hands Alina Kabaeva the Order of Frienship at an awards ceremony in the Kremlin in 2001This sudden, frenzied interest in a woman who, until yesterday, was frankly a rather obscure Russian athlete, comes after a Moscow
A otra cosa.

"Russia demands more respect from and equality with Washington and a free hand in world politics. In key respects, Moscow’s new foreign policy grows out of the logic of its ever more autocratic and neo-imperial political structure.” Two Thousand and Seven was the year that the Russians once again growled for attention. Like a bear returning from a long sleep after nearly two long decades, it first attracted this author’s attention in June with Putin using some stiff language while addressing Bush over the U.S. missile defense shield in Eastern Europe. Not long after, the Russians engaged in some in some good old-fashioned saber rattling by resuming the Soviet-era practice of sending strategic bombers on long-range flights well beyond its borders. By October, Putin was cozying up wit

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has won TIME's Person Of The Year.TIME claim:TIME's Person of the Year is not and never has been an honor. It is not an endorsement. It is not a popularity contest. At its best, it is a clear-eyed recognition of the world as it is and of the most powerful individuals and forces shaping that world—for better or for worse. It is ultimately about leadership—bold, earth-changing leadership. Putin is not a boy scout. He is not a democrat in any way that the West would define it. He is not a paragon of free speech. He stands, above all, for stability—stability before freedom, stability before choice, stability in a country that has hardly seen it for a hundred years.Last year, you were the person of the year.TIME placed a piece of reflective plastic on their cover so anyone could see themselves on the magazine. My hero Jon Stewart lampoons TIME in December 2006.

Russian President Vladimir Putin here on Tuesday suggested that a water channel be established to link Caspian Sea to the Black Sea.He made the remarks in his speech at the second summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states."Such a measure will create a potential power for transit of goods through which the Caspian Sea states would receive more facilities," he added.President Putin urged the Caspian Sea states to ratify materialization of North-South corridor.Underscoring the need for implementation of infrastructural projects of the Caspian Sea littoral states, he said, "Today, the Caspian Sea has turned into one of main centers for exploitation and trade of oil and gas." He further criticized the inappropriate ecological status of the Caspian Sea.Referring to importance of the Caspian Sea and its natural resources for its littoral states, President Putin called on his neighbors "to reach an agreement through dialogue and maintaining territorial integrity.""As we cannot allow other coun
You want to watch for false flags these days. Cheney and other trigger happy hawks are desperate to ignite World War III and deliberately putting out fires with gasoline. The yet-to-be-confirmed terror attack on Putin during his yet-to-be-started trip in Iran definitely smells like Dubya's dream team spirit. All fundamentalist doomsayers know History and remember which incident ignited WWI : the murder of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Este in Sarajevo. Back then, the Balkans were the hotspot for warmongers, and now, all the heat is on Tehran.Vlad the Impaler knows how to orchestrate terror and is quite an expert himself in false flag operations. Russia's next lifetime Prime Minister is transferring the pressure, but off Ahmadinejad's shoulders and directly towards Bush : I know you are up to something but I cannot tell what nor when, I know you want to make people believe Iran is responsible for your dream war but I want the public to make no mistake : if anything happens to me
The Russian rumour mill has generated a likely candidate for who will be the nation's first space tourist. It widely believed he's a member of the State Duma and a supermarket tycoon, Vladimir Gruzdev. Forbes magazine estimates his wealth at $820 million, largely based on his interest in Seventh Continent as well as the MKapital real-estate company. He is also a member of the Russian parliament's lower house, representing the pro-presidential United Russia Party.

Another day spent in search of interesting stuff for my blog. I was just about to turn off my computer because my search didn't come up with the results I expected, meaning I was unable to find anything interesting. But then I saw Kush's paintings and sculptures and everything changed. I knew that his paintings must be on my blog's pages. He was born in Russia and began painting as a little kid between the age of 3 and 4. In the world of Vladimir Kush the myth, the metaphor and the poetry combine in new forms. I've tried to think of some appropriate text to explain more things about this artist, but I've given up the idea. I'll let his paintings speak. I believe that no matter what I'll write it won't be good enough to explain the magnificent world created by Kush. In this post I'll show you some of his work, my personal selection, but you can find more on the next link. And trust me, this guy is a true master of his work. Russian President Vladimir Putin might be a freedom-hater who longs for the return of the Soviet Union, but he made an excellent point in a speech earlier today. From CNN:Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday blamed U.S. policy for inciting other countries to seek nuclear weapons to defend themselves from an "almost uncontained use of military force.""Unilateral, illegitimate actions have not solved a single problem, they have become a hotbed of further conflicts," Putin said at the Munich Conference on Security Policy, an annual forum attracting senior officials from around the world. The Bush administration said it was "surprised and disappointed" by Putin's remarks.Sen.
