Here we go then. The third and most definately final set of Viv Stanshall sessions. These final four sessions cover the period 1988-1991. For some reason (and I'm sure there is one) Viv didn't record any sessions between 1979 and 1988. One thing's for sure though, when he did return to Maida Vale it was well worth the wait. It's been far too long since we last saw Viv Stanshall up here so let's put things to rights with what was Viv's fifth session for the Peel show. I think I'm going to have to post Viv Stanshall sessions much more regularly because I know there are quite a lot of people who would like to hear them all and besides, this site is all about sharing. Back to this session and I'm not a hundred percent about the track listing. It was all broadcast as on piece as you will hear and that's the way I've left it but on the official sheets it states three tracks were broadcast. I listened to the session again yesterday and "Spades, Balls and Sausage Trees" and "Wheelbarrow" are definitely there, I'm not sure about "Aunt Florrie Recalls" but this is all that was broadcast and it is quite wonderful.

I think it's high time we had another Viv Stanshall session up here so here goes. This was the third session Viv recorded for the Peel program and I am not 100% sure I've got the titles right, but I'm sure someone will correct me if their wrong.1. Timeless eccentric Viv Stanshall entertained listeners for years on the Peel program with his periodical saga "Sir Henry At Rawlinson End". I was listening to some of these sessions the other day and I don't think these recording have ever seen a commercial release which is a pity.Viv tragically died after a fire at his flat in 1985. He was an undisputed genius who never got the recognition he deserved for some fantastic work. This is the earliest session I have, but there are plenty more to come.1. The Unbridled Suite2.
