      Vietnamese: Little Hanoi
Little Hanoi147 Curtain RoadEC2A  3QETel: 020 7729 6868 Date of Last Visit: Thursday, 13 December 2007 The Victim: Ying The Damage: Unknown! Ying paid! The Background: I stood Ying up for lunch twice this week because of my own scheduling issues. Triple booked myself--I hate it when I do that. So Thursday was THE DAY--the time for me to make it up to her. I cleared my calendar for the afternoon so we could get together. I've always walked right by Little Hanoi and their tempting buffet offer. (Cheaper still as a takeaway!) So it was about time to give it a shot. Stupidly, I got us a little lost on the way there. This is unbelievably stupid of me because it's not like I don't walk around the area all the time. I think I managed to eat up about 20 minutes of our valuable lunch time, trudging through the backstreets of Shoreditch. The Starters: But finally, we made it to Little Hanoi. And Ying speaks Cantonese and so do the staff so all was right in the world. We ordered so

It takes up very little space and is easy to use. The inexpensive filter is available online so you don't need to go to Vietnam to get one.

      Vietnamese Noodles @ Richmond, Melbourne
One of them places, my cousin brought us to , was this restaurant in Richmond. Unfortunately for me, I have forgotten what this place is called, and in Richmond, you have many Pho houses on that particular street. We also walked into a few Vietnamese provision shops to look at the abundance of food stuff we can buy for cooking Asian Food. So, when we walked in, the restaurant was already quite full. Mind you it was about 12pm, not exactly lunch time, at least not for us. We were just doing brunch. The reason why I did not remember much of it was because I did not do the ordering nor did I pay much attention to its menu.My cousin ordered this mini fried popiah, which was quite tasty. To eat this fried spring roll, we were given a bowl of sweet chilli sauce , which tasted like less starchy Thai Chilli Sauce. As an additional side dish for our noodles, we were given this plate of beansprouts, and mint leaves (really reminds me of ULAM). We were to squeeze a bit of lemon onto the sala

Vietnamese teacher's day - tense eased
The Vietnamese teacher's day is coming(20 November). I feel very tense as there're many teachers to pay visit, and of course, little presents to be brought along as well. The toughest decision is what should be presented to my first instructor(of my thesis in structural part)?? What he will re-act to my present?? It's just because I was two times absent from a meet-up with him on the progress of my thesis. Fortunately, Mr. Trường, the first instructor, hospitably welcame me to his office :o) He gave me two hand-shakes(overture and closure) and small talks on my thesis. He later appointed me to another stage of my works, it's Field Management Calculations(tempo translation). All you guy may know how did I feel at the moment. What a happy and exciting concurrence!! My tense feeling was suddenly eased. Yeah,.. the Buddha really pays his close eyes on me :)

Ao Dai - Vietnamese Traditional Dress
A lasting impression for any visitor to Vietnam is the beauty of the women dressed in their ao dais. Girls dressed in white pick their way through muddy streets going home from school or sail by in a graceful chatter on their bikes. Secretaries in delicate pastels greet you at an office door and older ladies in deep shades of purple, green or blue cut a striking pose eating dinner at a restaurant. The ao dai appears to flatter every figure. Its body-hugging top flows over wide trousers that brush the floor. Splits in the gown extend well above waist height and make it comfortable and easy to move in. Although virtually the whole body is swathed in soft flowing fabric, these splits give the odd glimpse of a bare midriff, making the outfit very sensual. Rapidly becoming the national costume for ladies, its development is actually very short compared to the country's history.Pronounced 'ao yai' in the south, but 'ao zai' in the north, the color is indicative of the wearer's age and

Why Vietnamese women always look young?
It is important that we as consumers are aware of the potential risks of what we apply on our skin when we used skincare products. Some of them contain harmful chemicals but are masked by a pleasant fragrance. It is therefore very important that consumers should only use natural skin care products to protect our skin against pollution and harmful contamination . The more preservatives and chemicals we put on our skin, the more we fill our bodies with toxins and compromise our immune systems. R.G. Skin Revitalizer is a daily skin supplement made from Gac, a bright-red fruit found all over sub-tropical Asia especially in Vietnam. This typical color shows it contains beta-carotene. It is grown in home gardens and sometimes cooked and eaten with rice which is a staple diet of the Vietnamese. Beta-carotene is a natural carotenoid antioxidant found in the Gac fruit and its natural benefits are immense: It boosts our body’s immune system and helps in the rejuvenation of our skin cells.

Profile: Vietnamese Archaeologist Do Dinh Huat
15 October 2007 (Thanh Nien News) - Lara Croft and Indiana Jones have a lot to answer for. It irks me every time someone calls archaeologists “tomb raiders” - makes them seem more like treasure-hunting rogues rather than the scientists they actually are. Sigh. Barring the headline, the profile of Do Dinh Huat seems quite decent enough. Vietnam’s tomb raider finds answers underground by Giao Huong Over the last 40 years renowned archeologist Do Dinh Truat has presided over some 330 excavations of Vietnam’s ancient tombs, more than any one else in Vietnam. “Tomb excavation”, says Truat, “let’s one unearth the worlds of the dead, especially those of the upper classes, and find the missing pieces that make up the great puzzle of our history.” (more…)

The owner of nonpareil antiques by Tuoi Tre He is not even known by many antique collectors, but anyone who had a chance to see part of Duong Phu Hien’s huge antique collection would be shocked by the value. The house of collector Duong Phu Hien is full of antiques, from the basement to the top, but the owner is very modest and doesn’t like to boast about the collection. It was very hard for a Tuoi Tre reporter to get access to Mr. Hien’s collection and to know about his most valuable collection of ceramics.
