Not posted for a while, and am just recovering from a rotten cold so feeling a little more festive now.I have had a tall Treasure Box stamp (Windsong), for ages now and have never used it to date. Typically me ! This is just one of my stash items that I have accumulated over time but never got round to giving an airing.I decided to have a go and I did two 4 sided boxes with a different medallion topper on each. Both boxes were heat embossed with gold EP after stamping with Versamark. The pink one was coloured simply with Sakura Gelly Roll Glaze pens, whilst the blue one was coloured with fine glitters in green and blue. Ribbons were attached to the medallions to act as a closure for the boxes.

Dexter is a living, breathing, and growing community environment                           The community tree lighting began Friday at 7pm. The merchants stayed open late to spur shopping. Saturday there was a breakfast with Santa Claus at the Bear Claw, food drive with music at Foggie Bottom, lunch with Mrs. Claus at the Alpha Coney Island and a meeting with her at Dexter Pharmacy II at Dexter Crossing. Children visited and sat with Santa under the gazebo.  From noon to 4:00 pm ice sculptures were designed and placed throughout downtown.  Ice sculptures were provided by Marin Folk with 20 years experience. The one featured below was sponsored by Dr Kolb, DDS of Dexter Family Dentistry and another pictured was sponsored by Matt Rolfes, financial planner in Dexter.  The police came to re-route traffic for the parade at 4 pm.  The Candy Cane Walk/Run

This is the first time I have seen Pomanders at M&S. This quaint Victorian method of masking odours actually came from France. The French called them pomme dambre or apple of amber. It was usually a ball made of perfumes like ambergris, musk, or civet. Originally the pomander was worn on a neck chain or carried in a vase to protect from infection in times of pestilence or to dispel bad smells. The globular cases which contained the pomanders were perforated and often made of gold or silver. At times they has multiple partitions, each for a different perfume. They were extremely popular with royalty!!M&S seems to be reviving this tradition with pomanders in two fragrances from their Floral Collection - rose and magnolia. - The support for Sons and Daughters at The Hub last Saturday (10th) night were two bands who might be able to offer something different to modern music. That is, if they have things their way. Two different sounds and contrasting levels of on-stage technological sophistication contrived to happily and fully engage a moderate crowd of student-types and rockers. 6-piece Nervosa, having travelled up from Cornwall to be crammed onto the front of the stage (to accommodate Ss and Ds' not-to-be-touched drum kit) started with gusto and grabbed the slowly filling auditorium with a building funk-down that moved into the catchy 'Breathe In'. Recently it served as a luxury hotel, but its owner has been forced to sell it due to financial troubles. No Man's Land Fort, as it is known, was built between 1861 and 1880. The Victorian Government, currently in election mode, has announced that it will inject $1.4bn to upgrade hospitals and health services if re-elected. Read article It’s a shame that Governments wait til election time to pull out the public purse and offer up money but I guess it’s a start. I also noticed that nothing about preventative education programmes were mentioned. It’s a shame that serious funding isn’t given to community and population health units so that they can try and stop people from developing serious chronic conditions, thus reducing numbers in beds but I guess the politician knows best

I knew this was gonna be a good one. It's always a good sign when you put a record on and the cat runs for cover. With a name like The Victorian English Gentlemens Club you're never quite sure what your going to get but this album is anything but gentlemenly. You know the sort of thing. Noisy jerky guitars, pumping basslines and a singer who sounds as though he could scare the shit out of Mark E. Smith. This is the debut album by the Cardiff three piece and follows up their previous two singles brilliantly fulfilling the promise that this is one band to be scared of. This post is another oldie from my past. My drawings were very tight and detailed. I have tried to loosen up on some of my current work but I do like going back to this style where I just "noodle" for hours. I used Rapidograph Pens on Illustration Board.
